The staff at ACT are so committed, and the parent and childrens' community there is unmatched by any other community I have ever been a part of. The quality of the productions are amazing, as well! ACT has an Academy for skills development across voice, dance and acting. I have heard nothing but great things from people that have participated in those classes. ACT sticks to its core mission of inclusiveness and letting every kid rise to their own potential regardless of background, abilities, etc. The kids grow like crazy there in the most important ways - becoming better humans. We were able to pick up our tickets at will call inside relatively quickly upon entering. The staff greeted us and were very friendly and informative. We were given our programs and made aware that it can be a bit chilly inside the theater but that there were blankets available for use set up just outside where you would enter. There is a small snack bar in the lobby area. I believe you can take drinks in but not the food (can't remember 100%) there was a 15 minute intermission in between acts to be able to go to the restroom or grab a quick snack/drink. The actors were great, each very into their part. For it being open night there was only one line flub that I noticed BUT we have watched the movie about a million times so I'm sure anyone who hadn't did even catch it. Very happy with the entire production! I'm was nervous when picking seats because I couldn't find any information on if the seats were all the same level or not. For those wondering themselves, they were not it was raised like stadium seating. The theater itself is pretty small so seats go right up to the stage. The floor at the very front is reserved as a handicap area. At the end if the show we were all invited by the staff to stay for wine and cake to celebrate opening night with the cast. The seats are fantastic, and they give you so much aisle space so when someone is scooting out, no one has to stand and let them by. The chairs were very comfortable also and there was plenty of parking. The Black Box is located inside the Discovery Center so easy access off of The Dallas Tollway. We do wish there were single serving bags of pretzels, chips, cookies or something to purchase during intermission. They were kind enough to have small bottles of water For Free.

I had my first visit to the Majestic Theatre last weekend for hte Moonchild concert. This is a very…read morenice and historic theater. The seats were surpirisingly more comfortable than I expected, although the legroom was a little tight for my long legs. For reference, I'm 5'9 1/2". The acoustics were excellent! I liked that there were drinks and food options available, and that drinks could be brought into the theater. That's rare. My only complaint, which may not be the fault of the Majestic, was that the lead singer's voice was drowned out by the instruments. To be fair, Amber's (the lead singer) voice is very sweet and soft. The instruments of the band sounded great and were very crisp and clear, which was a testament to the sound system and acoustics in the room, but they overpowered the lead singer. The lighting on the stage was also very good. In the basement of the theater, there are vintage artifacts from the theater, and details about the history of the items and the theater. This is very nice and a great way to preserve and teach the history of the Majestic for generations to come. For parking, there's a nearby outdoor parking lot down the street but the cost is $30 to park. I would definitely return to the Majestic for a concert!

No longer content to settle for "typical community theatre" offerings, this not-for-profit theatre has been doing some exciting and unusual projects ("La Cage aux Folles" and "Sweeney Todd" in the same season), and doing them WELL. Consequently, they're now drawing a larger and more talented pool of actors, directors, and designers to their ranks, as well as fans from all over Dallas/Fort Worth and beyond. There are ample opportunities to volunteer and be involved in the process. However, if you're content to view the finished product, their show seasons always offer a variety of musicals and straight plays, comedy and drama, edginess and family-friendly fare. No, they're not perfect, but they are certainly doing some promising things. If they keep growing and doing what they're doing, Onstage in Bedford is set to become a serious player on the DFW theatre scene.

After waiting in line at the check-in and going through a metal detector we were directed to a waiting room where a friendly employee explained that there was a mysterious story that you could try to figure out or you could just explore. Then they led us into the room to start exploring at our own pace. It was a really cool experience and full of creatively fun art. It was definitely an out of this world experience. After spending a few hours exploring we briefly visited the souvenir shop. We didn't get anything but they do have a variety of things to purchase. Overall The Real Unreal Meow Wolf is worth a visit if you like hands on experiences with a mysterious story that you can try to figure out while enjoying the creative art work.
