In addition to throwing away our skimmer baskets and vacuum bag (without asking, they were not old or broken) they screwed my chemicals so badly I'm going to need to drain the whole pool. After three different independent water test showed this, they just denied and gave me the run around. Three different times they said they'd meet with me to discuss remediation and did not... today they said they knocked on the back door and then just left without ever ringing the doorbell. I used Bowen Pools for weekly cleaning. They apparently sold the cleaning side of their business and I was switched to Flower Mound Pool Service. "Service" is an exaggeration. I have had multiple weeks where the employee showed up and was gone in less than 10 minutes. Multiple times, skimmer baskets were not emptied, never saw anyone sweep the pool, and had algae growth during the summer I had to shock myself. Last straw was when the backflow valve was not closed correctly after last filter cleaning and forced itself out freezing during the recent cold weather. I hired Flowermound Pool care and maintenance, a few months ago for weekly service. The first two times the kid that came out to clean the pool, left without locking the pool gate behind him. After that a new kid (Tyler) was assigned to my pool and just as many issues or lack of service. We have a medium size pool about 17,500 gallons, so I would expect it to take more than the 5-7 minutes to do all the checks and clean each week. The company states it has a 23 point plan each time it comes to clean the pool. I have experienced each time the kid arrives, he spends less than 5-7 minutes doing all the checks along with "cleaning" the pool. He spends half the time checking his phone messages while on the job. What a joke!!! I probably spend at least 15 minutes every few days doing the same work he "does" in 5-7 minutes. One of the points is checking the pool sweep wall filter, not one time did any of the two service kids do that. Sweeping the sides and bottom is only done half A$$. This last time it took 1 minute and 10 seconds to sweep the entire pool......LOL..... I did call the company 2x, to let them know about what was going on. The first time was about the lock, problem, fixed, second time was to inform them about the lack of cleaning service to the pool each week. The 3rd call was to cancel the weekly service. I would NOT recommend them for there weekly pool service. After cancelling the service, i was out at the pool checking the skimmer baskets at pool and at filter. The skimmer baskets in the pool were emptied, but the skimmer basket at filter was full of leaves and debris. $200/month for less than 25 mins a work, what a scam, maybe this is not what is normal, maybe it was just the kid that I was assigned to. I think this employee (Tyler) needs to get a talking to and maybe even handed his last paycheck. I would not put up with an employee that doesn't care and spends more time on his phone than on a job.. I would recommend them for a filter clean... When I asked when, they said should call them to back Monday morning to find when they could make it. Called and said I need my Jacuzzi light changed and they came on my service day and said yes you need your light changed. Gave me a really overpriced quote to change the light. Offered to replace the light for an outrageous price but on top of all of that, they charged me $150 Bucks to come and look at the light to let me know it needs to be changed. I hired these guys a few years back - they WERE wonderful .... Sadly over the 15 months their service and work are AWFUL . Very little respect or communication to the customer . Very unskilled techs- the first guy wore earphones or talked not he phone the whole time - barely did much to the pool-the second was really nice but does not know that much what he is doing - he leaves the fountain off or the pool equipment running loud and does not bother to check - at my rental house they have left the pool green for weeks after the tenant ask the tech why - apparently he did not know - I have spend thousands of dollars with them - they messed up the grout around the pool ... they NEVER call you or email you back... its disgraceful - finally after many incidents that have occurred I blew up today - I did use curse language as well because they are just awful and I had to spend time regularly chasing them down .. The manager or whoever he was had NO idea what had been occurring and spoke to me like it was something different going on - he had no idea - typical - in the end he did not like that I would not put up with his lousy customer service and decided to fire me - good riddons to a company that has gone form being great to being the WORST read more

If I could have rated this company 0 stars, I would. After being a customer for several years, we were "fired" in an e-mail because of our "vicious" dogs. I find this absolutely ridiculous. We either kept our dogs in door or in a fenced in area on the side of the house. On the occasions that we forgot to put the dogs in the house or in their run, we never complained about the technician not providing us service and we paid for those visits. After being fired, we contacted another pool service company and I'm so glad that we did. Our pool had no salt or chlorine in the water and the filter cleaning services that they said they did, were either not done or done by an incompetent tech. On second thought, they do deserve the 1 star since their firing is lead us to find out about their incompetence. read more

I had this company come out to look at my leaking pool heater. I was told I would need a whole new unit and they would re-route my system so it would bypass going through the heater. Come to find out later that I don't need a whole new unit (but a much cheaper part) and all the tech did was turn my valve already on the system to re-route. Got charged for a turn of my valve and a bad diagnosis. Seems pretty shady to me. read more

For 7 years I have been willing to pay their over $100 trip fee, their poor customer service, and below average work because I built a standing relationship on very low barrier services Ie seasonal cleaning and filter cleaning. I stuck with them. When the winter freeze came about I could not get a returned call for over 90 days despite using them exclusively for 7 years. With insurance replacement money in hand I called to see if they could schedule me in. I was told "we are not accepting new clients". "But I am a client and have been for 7 years". This company is terrible. They came to my house every week and I never received any communication that my pool filter was leaking. I backwashed and cleaned my pool weekly had absolutely had no issues with any leaking Then I received an e-mail stating they would be coming out to perform my bi-annual preventative maintenance filter cleaning. Five days after that occurs, the thing starts leaking like a sieve and of course, there was no way the cleaning of the filter could have caused that to happen. The next week they come to complete their weekly service and send out an e-mail stating they shut the filter off because it was leaking. They never rang the doorbell I was home) or anything to tell me the filter was leaking they just sent me an e-mail stating it was leaking to avoid having to directly explain it to me. I gave them the opportunity to make it right but they chose to rip me off and wanted to charge me $95 to come out and repair the leak which all of the sudden just immediately appeared after they supposedly performed the preventative maintenance. I immediately cancelled my service. Some many pool companies out there to choose from, DON'T choose this one. I learned my lesson. read more

On two separate occasions recently, the techs (two different individuals) were coming by the house taking a pictures of the pool after being cleaned and then leaving immediately after pictures. They were dumb enough to do this while I was working at home with my car in the driveway. Take a picture, send it to my email and then drive by my home office window 3 minutes later. I then went out to the pool and took pictures of dirty filter basket, skimmer basket and Polaris bag stuffed with debris. First time this happened I spoke with mgmt. Second time I spoke with Blaine. He apologized and then it happened again two months later. They did not charge me for the final month after I told them I was finally done with the deception. I would look elsewhere for pool service unless you want to baby sit. read more
