Dr.Thomas and her team members are above and beyond what they do. Dr. Thomas has exceptional talent and fantastic qualities in caring for her patients. I have been a patient here since they first opened the office, so I've been here 5-6 times already. The techs who do the mammograms have always been super thorough, kind, and helpful. One year they thought they saw something, and I had to come back in. The care and compassion helped ease my nervousness, even though "It could be nothing," you just never know. Terrible and incompetent front office staff. Treat young people terribly and have no empathy what so ever. Set appointment and provided insurance information. Confirmed appointment and they stated insurance was good. Left work early for appointment, only to be treated unprofessionally and that my insurance was not accepted there. This after they confirmed all was ok. It is one thing to not have people capable of doing the basic appointment portion and communicating incorrect information, but to say insurance is accepted and then say no upon arrival instead of calling ahead of time, is inexcusable. read more

I was new to Texas tried another obgyn in Flower Mound they treated me like it was a business. Not at Flower Mound Woman's Care. Everyone is super friendly. This place is horrible. I took my wife there and to say that these "doctors" are idiots would be to good for them.The treatment of patients was deplorable. Spent close to an hour passed when are appointment was to even get in and the doctor Did not apologize but thenspent a grand total of 5 minutes giving us little to no sympathy on what was one of the worst days of our marriage . All they care about is money. They promised they would cover the costs because we were not supposed to see them in the first place. I even checked both times we went to see if we owed money ,but both times "no you dont owe anything", now 3 months later we get an outrageous bill saying we are 30 days past due and the billing department basically just says to bad and thats it. I know this isnt my doctor but after the treatment my wife received there i would not wish it upon anyone . read more

Like any Dr. office, Dr. Vandell and his staff are not perfect and I would never expect them to be. But it blows my mind that there are people on here complaining with 1 star reviews and I am pretty confident that's just because every other patient at his office is content and happy, not thinking about yelp reviewing. Seeing these other comments though, I have to give my opinion. I have been a patient at Flower Mound Womens Care with Dr. Vandell for a little over 4 years. He delivered my first child(who is now 3).. I had an extremely complicated end of pregnancy and delivery with pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome and Dr. Vandell was very proactive in making sure everything went as smooth as possible. He just delivered our 2nd child one month ago with no complications, I was able to go into labor very relaxed and at ease because I knew my doctor well and was confident in him.. he is great at making last minute decisions, working under pressure and I fully trusted him with a worst case scenario. Dr. Vandell does his job well. He is very thorough and knowledgeable and it is obvious that he has a passion for what he does. He has always explained things to make sure my husband and I understand them and are comfortable. He spends time with us just making casual conversation during our office visits which helps us really get to know him better through the small amount of time we have with him before delivery.. If I moved and it were possible I would honestly consider flying back to have Dr. Vandell deliver another one of my children. His nurses and other staff are also all very competent and caring. I would highly recommend him to my closest of friends! read more

I have been attending this place since I was about 16 weeks pregnant. It's the only option my insurance would allow for me to have. Let's just say if I had a choice this would not be my number one spot to come and get treatment. I arrived 15mnts late because of commute, they had to reschedule me!!! Office was not busy at all! I am a mom of two, commuting all the way from little elm to flower mound is not ideal. And of course you never know when you will hit traffic. That was not good enough for them so they had me reschedule. Funny thing is if I arrive early they still have me wait past my appointment time(last time it was 30 minutes past my appointment and I had arrived 30 minutes before my time to make sure I got in and out with plenty of time to go pick up my child from school). If I get here on time they still have me wait anywhere between 30-1hr. Plus the wait in the checkup room which runs anywhere from 20-45 minutes, just for the obgyn to say "ok everything ok, baby ok, you ok, any concerns? Ok, appointment in 3 weeks" the wait here is longer than the actual visit with the obgyn. Yet I got reschedule because I was 15 minutes late. When in reality if I would of arrived with time left or at the exact time I would still be sitting in waiting room awaiting for a nurse or my obgyn to call me back to the check up room. They asked for me to call and let them know I was gonna be running late(which I have done in the Past and they had told me 15 minutes late is the only window they allow anything past that will be rescheduled) but as we come to find out that is plain lies. Let's just say not the best reliable place... and now I HAVE to deliver with their obgyn. If you have an option on who can give your treatment, let it not be this place. read more

I have been going to Dr. VanDell for almost 9 years. I am currently pregnant with my first child and Dr.VanDell's professionalism and comforting attitude has made my pregnancy a little less scary. He is truly a wonderful doctor who is personable and kind. Any poor reviews on here are very disappointing to see because not only have I had a wonderful experience being his patient for the past 9 years but so has my mother and my sister. I feel that he has the best interest at heart with all of his patients. I do recommend, poor reviews aside, considering him to be your Ob-Gyn. read more

I am a new patient who moved out of state and I made an appt with Dr.Vandell. They called me a couple of days before my appointment to let me know that the doctor will not see me unless he induces me. The office doesn't even have my medical records and the doctor has never even seen me before. How can a doctor who has never seen a patient or has seen medical records demand to have his patient induced in order to be seen. This is so ridiculous!! I can't believe this doctor won't see me unless I'm induced. He needs to have his license taken away. He doesn't care about his patients. read more

After reading these reviews it makes me very sad. This place is amazing. The staff is great and attentive and Dr. Van Dell is hands down amazing if he could be the doctor for everything I would go to him all the time. Between the nurses and the doctors everyone is very nice and sweet and explain everything and they make sure you feel very comfortable and welcomed. The front staff is so sweet and they are always ontop of everything. I have been going here for the last 5 years and I don't plan on stopping. read more

I've been a patient for 10 years now. Dr. Van Dell is excellent. I've never seen the other dr's in this practice so I cannot review them. He's very knowledgeable and has helped me through many issues. They do not try to get money out of me. If anything, they do their best to help me without charging me. For example, if I've ever suspected I had a Urinary Tract Infection, rather than force me to see the dr and pay for a dr's visit, (as all dr's will do) I'm able to come in and give them a urine sample, then they call me back later that day telling me whats wrong and informing me at the same time that they have already called in an RX for me. Same thing with a yeast infection. They genuinely care about my well-being and it's confirmed each time I call them. Like I said I've been seeing him for 10 years. That's a testament to how wonderful he and his staff are. As far as the negative reviews, seems to me like they aren't giving you the whole story so just keep that in mind. Dr. Van Dell and Flower Mound Women's care were also voted Best of Denton County. I cannot say enough good things about them. And it deeply hurts to read bad reviews about them. I have used other midwives & had wonderful experiences before so I thought I knew what to expect but I was sorely let down by Beth. She is very experienced but impersonal and even rude. On the day of delivery she told me how frustrated she was that I was delivering on her day off without even asking how I was doing!! She refused to do a perineal massage & I tore on my smallest baby! She was in the delivery room less than 30 min & when it was time to push she was nowhere to be found. The hospital Anesthesiologist offered to deliver the baby! What a circus. Please think twice before hiring Beth. This should be an amazing experience for parents and a new baby! read more

Dr Van Dell is a great OB/GYN in all aspects of his profession. Due to several fibroid tumors I needed to have surgery and Dr Van Dell was very professional and helpful throughout the process. Dr. VanDell has been my ob-gyn for the past ten years. He has always been incredibly compassionate and caring. He is invested in my health as well as that of both my daughters, which he delivered. I had a handful of issues during both pregnancies and Dr. VanDell held my hand both literally and metaphorically through it all. His nurses are so sweet and provide incredible care as well. They return messages and answer questions in a very timely manner. I never feel like "just another patient" when I am there. I now travel more than 40 miles to see Dr. VanDell for checkups and did so when I was pregnant with my last child. He is simply my most trusted doctor - across the board. read more

Dr. Vandell is WONDERFUL! My husband and I liked him the minute we met him. He is very personable and a hoot to talk to. His nurses are all very friendly and caring. Being a high risk pregnant patient, I have been here my fair share and the care is top notch. It is so nice for the lab, ultrasounds and diabetes educator to all be under the same roof! This office is extremely unprofessional and demeaning. My 19 year old daughter chose this office to see her through her pregnancy. My daughter applied for Medicaid unknowingly still being covered under my insurance. She was contacted by Erica, and told that the system is showing that my daughters Medicaid was shut off because she already had insurance, and that what my daughter was doing was insurance fraud. Also that she will be contacting Medicaid and reporting her for fraud. Then proceeded to explain that she was going to have to pay back all the money that Medicaid has put out for her up to this point. Our family issues are ours and my daughter has not been in contact with us on a regular basis about this and was trying to be an adult and handle her business. Erica was rude to the point of causing my pregnant daughter to cry and become upset, due to the issue of this women telling her she was in trouble, and was being fraudulent in her action. My daughter was trying to explain to Erica she didn't know she was under my insurance and it was an honest mistake. My daughter contacted us to insure she did have insurance and contacted Erica back to tell her she was sorry and in fact still has insurance with us. Erica continued to berate my daughter with insinuations of fraud and that my daughter was in trouble. My daughter explained she would not put up with the rudeness of Erica and told her she would just find another doctor. Erica said good for you have a nice day, and hung up on my daughter. It is sad that this office has a person representing them in this fashion. If you don't like your job Erica leave. It is better to help someone then to try and make them feel bad and cause anxiety in their life, when all they are trying to do is be an adult and make their way through life. Your action prove you are not happy with your life and may need to seek help for you emotional roller coaster of a life. People wonder why kids these days have no respect for adult, it's because they are not taken seriously and helped to correct issues they are just now finding out about and never have encountered. Erica you could have easily helped my daughter out and explained the issue and been a mentor to a young lady, which you were once. Shame on you and your employer for allowing this to take place. I hope this finds the right person/Doctor. And actions are taken to improve the customer relations. Because think real hard, we pay your salary. read more
