After going on line seeing how overpriced bleeding hearts were, I decided to walk into Flower Now on Central avenue. I spoke with Sarah about the funeral piece that I needed and she showed me the book and when I saw what I wanted I was waiting for this CRAZY price to be quoted. When she said it would be $249.00 I was relieved yet concerned about what I would be getting in comparison to what I saw online for $549, $799 and Even $999 (From Barrons). When The arrangement was delivered, I was blown away. It was absolutely STUNNING. Everyone talked about how beautiful the bleeding heart was. I would highly recommend Flower Now. Growing up in Union City, this florist was always a go-to for special occasions, prom, Valentine's Day, Mother's day& and just purchasing flowers for decorations. Wanted to send flowers to Mom from a local florist. Called & had wonderful service. I described the arrangement I wanted & was able to select the delivery date. Upon arrival, the balloon was missing. Received roses from my partner abroad from this place. They looked pretty on arrival but also like the roses has been opened for quite some time already. Got them on Saturday afternoon, by Wednesday they were half drooping so I cut them and changed the water. By Saturday they were completely dead. I'm a house plant addict and live in the Heights area of Jersey City. I didn't know of any shops in the heights area that carried any house plants , so I usually head somewhere else to get some. Until I decided to take a walk to this shop and check inside. I was shocked! I always thought it was just a florist to get your usual bouquets and party flowers. To my surprise, I found house plants I've been looking for! They didn't have much the day I went and one of the plants I was eyeing wasn'tt looking so great, but the owner said if I still wanted it, that he would give me a good deal and that he was expecting more plants very soon. I'm so glad I found this shop and I was hesitating on writing this review because I don't want people finding out about it and taking all my plants. I ordered a dozen long stem red roses for our 11 year anniversary. My wife LOVED them. She said they were beautiful over and over. Unfortunately there were a couple of issues with the delivery guy (a temp driver hired because of the busy holiday this Sunday) and my message card not arriving with the flowers but my wife loved the flowers. I called Mark (the owner), who was very apologetic and offered to send over another arrangement with the card included which I declined because the element of surprise was no longer there but I repeat, she LOVED the roses. So when Mark offered to reimburse me for the flowers I could not accept his offer with a clear conscience because the flowers were beautiful and my wife was happy in spite of a couple of snafu's. Instead of accepting a freebie I agreed to be compensated for part of the cost because had it not been for a couple of mistakes the purchase would have been well worth the price I paid. My original score was going to be 4 stars because of the issues, the 5th star is because of Mark and how he handled the situation. These people are liars at best and criminals at worst. The ordeal and I and my parents dealt with on Valentine's was the worst we've ever experienced with a florist. Their first lie was that they tried to deliver on the 14th, but that Jersey City is so unsafe that they didn't want to leave the flowers and no one was home. Yeah, I live in a luxury building with a huge, well-lit lobby and 24-hr concierge. We were fed about 5-6 more whoppers as they failed to deliver the flowers over the next 4 days. Luckily, Teleflora apologized and gave us a refund. These creeps should be put out of business for good though. read more

Walked into a flowernow shop in Jersey City on Central Ave & Hutton St. purchased a floral arrangement. The arrangement was wrapped without covering the stems which caused the paper to become wet and it started to tear. As a suggestion I told the attendant that for future customers they should put some plastic at the bottom so the paper doesn't get wet. She responded by say "ok, ok, yeas Merry Christmas, next." I did an about face, put the flowers on the counter and asked for a refund. While she's professing her innocences for the "cameras" I helped her appreciate my keen sense of sarcasm and how I don't appreciate it especially when I'm spending MY money. While she continued, three police officers show up and she said "look somebody called the police, you're yelling at me a throwing things." I told her the police were called because I'm a big black man just like they'd be called on your Hispanic son. I informed the officers that we were conducting a refund and that is all. They were very polite and professional and left afterward. The attendant tells her coworker "I knew when he (referring to me) came in there was gonna be trouble." Flowers were supposed to be delivered to work and never showed up. Tried calling all day, no one answers the phone. Email them, no one responds. I go into the store. They tell me oh there is nothing they can do bc I ordered them online. So what am I supposed to do? They say call the number. I did but they don't answer. They tell me, drive to this warehouse in Union City. I tell them I'm not driving anywhere. Especially not to some random warehouse who doesn't answer the phone. Are you kidding me? My husband was charged $90 for flowers that didn't show up and no one has any answers. The only thing to do is refuse payment on my credit card. The guy at this place is completely insensitive and rude. I came in to get some flowers because it was my daughters first day of preschool and she wanted to get flowers for her teachers. So when I told him to give me six carnations, 3 and 3 wrapped separate, he gave me a dirty look!! I tried to explain my purpose behind it and said it's my daughter's first day of school and before I could finish my story he literally turned around and said it's everyone's first day of school today! So I told him no it's my daughter's first day of preschool so it's Her first day of school ever and she wanted to get some flowers for her teachers. He turns around and says oh now it's about the teachers! What a jerk!!!! Everyone that goes to buy flowers is for some sentimental purpose, as a florist you should be sensitive to why people are getting flowers because that is what drives your business, the sentiment! This place is a block from my house and is now part of my Saturday routine. Stopping in here on Saturday morning for a couple of bouquets is instantly life-brightening. They have a lovely selection and the prices are great! I like to mix and match different flowers and colors. I usually leave with 3 nice sized bunches for under $20. I haven't experienced any of their other services; I'm sure they can make custom bouquets if you request. This place is horrible!!! My boyfriend attempted to send me flowers for my birthday & they never came even after I called when it had gotten late & the lady assured me that they would be delivered before 7pm that night. They never came so I called back this morning since I am leaving to go back home for a refund & she refuses, asks to call me back so she could find out what happened with her driver but never takes my phone number. I explained to her that they never came & I was going back home now & I'd like for them to process the refund and she said no again. The building I stayed at was a luxury high rise building with 24 hour desk service & my mom had a cake delivered to me a day prior and I didn't have any trouble receiving it so I know there was no issue there. Needless to say we called the credit card company & disputed the charge so that I no longer have to deal with them. I will let my credit card company handle it going forward. read more

around 8/14 2015 I ordered $133 worth of flowers/candy to be delivered. I ran into my cousin who I ordered it for and asked her, since I never heard from her, its not like her to not thank someone so I asked and she said she never received it. I called to ask what happened. at first they said "we don't keep records that far back" I said, "surely you can check some how, there has to be records" I told them I'd have to dispute the charge on my credit card, and they put me on hold and said " oh we will check then" then they told me to email them. I did, never heard back."..i started all of this Feb 5th, its now the 10th. still nothing.
