I ordered a bouquet of flowers to be sent to the hospital for a friend who had just welcomed a new baby. The flowers were successfully delivered on time, but unfortunately never made their way to the room at the hospital and my friend was never notified by hospital staff of the delivery. Given that I live in Florida, I was unable to get in touch with anyone at the hospital who could help locate the delivery before my friend was discharged from the hospital. However, Cathy at Bouquets & Baskets was so kind, and went above and beyond to resolve the issue. She graciously offered to pick the flowers up from the hospital, freshen the bouquet, and have the flowers re-delivered directly to my friend's home at no additional cost. Charming old fashioned flower shop in the Harsimus Cove area of JC. Inside there's a selection of succulents, house plants, cut flowers and vases, flower pots etc. Outside there's an amazing array of bedding plants, herbs, tomato plants etc. The bedding plants etc are all strong and hardy and great value for money, much better than at other garden stores. The people inside the shop are friendly and knowledgable. It's a delight to support independent old school retailers such as this and I'm only making this a four rather than five star review because I can't comment on their arrangements or deliveries. read more

For a go to corner florist this spot ain't too shabby. First, they are some of the nicest most neighborhood oriented people ever, always with a smile on their faces and happy to serve! I often have balloons filled with helium from here and when I'm needing a last minute floral gift this isn't a bad option. I recently picked up some nice white tulips and they added some pine and nice ribbon and boom, $13 later it was a nice wintery mix. The reason for fours stars instead of five is that I feel you do need to go in and pick out the flowers. I was looking at the short stem roses and many of them were bruised and not looking so hot hence why I went with the tulips; they definitely weren't the cream of the crop. Overall a nice solid neighborhood spot but, I wouldn't expect anything fancy. read more

Walked in to get our bouquet and the workers are just busy playing and talking to each other and let us wait 30 min for our bouquet there while there are no one else in front of us. The workers take their sweet time and complain about they only get paid 80$ a day. Very unprofessional and won't come back here again. read more

I just went in today and I can say my interaction was nothing short of spectacular. I called earlier to see if it was possible that I come in to make a bouquet out of one of the mason jars I own. I gave her a budget and we stayed under it (this ended up costing $37). The owner is also very intuitive of her customers. She asked if I wanted to help pick out flowers for the bouquet which was really fun! Also when they were putting together the bouquet I was slightly furrowing my brow from the other room about some extra greenery and she immediate turned around and asked me what was up. Very nicely and not assertively. I felt very comfortable actually stating what was on my mind. Overall beyond happy I came to see her and will go to her again and again! read more

Generally the service is good. They make nice bouquets and can put something together based on your budget that day. That being said, twice I've gone in there and Rush Limbaugh is ringing through the whole shop. I didn't catch his recent "Joe and the Hoe" shtick about Kamala Harris but he's not someone I consider to be a good or moral American. If you're conservative that's your business, but there are strains of it that I'm not going to support. This would be one - B&B you lost me. read more

Ordered flowers from Bouquets & Baskets for my husband for Valentine's Day over a week in advance. I received an email confirming this order, including delivery date February 14, 2018, correct address, etc; their website suggested requesting a preferred delivery time in the "special instructions" field, so I requested "morning delivery if possible." When the flowers still had not shown up by 3 PM day of, I called the number on their website, but nobody picked up. I was not able to reach anyone, or even leave a message, through several calls to their number. The flowers did finally show up at 7 PM, and they were perfectly nice; but the extremely late delivery and complete lack of communication was very off-putting. I might order from them again on a random non-holiday, but it seems like they take on more orders than they can actually reasonably handle for Valentine's Day (and presumably other floral holidays) and have trouble keeping up. read more

When you enter a florist you expect to be greeted as oppose to being look at as if our bothering them. I asked for the promotional roses advertised and I was rudely told up front. I chose and go to register where he tells me the price. I give him the money I get my change with no receipt and I hand him the dozen roses and say are you going to wrap them? He paused and said Oh Ok like thats not normal. He takes bouquet and comes back with the flowers wrapped in the paper you stuff packing with. Not the florist logo wrap paper I see every other customer leave with. Very bad first impression. I will not return. read more

Lost a customer today. Ordered a $120+ bouquet of roses for my significant other for our anniversary today - with a 4-5pm same day pick up window (order placed 9am). After calling a few times from 3-4pm for a status update to no avail, I decided to head into the store (maybe they're busy and can't pick up) only to find out at 430pm, the night of my anniversary, they decided to close the store early and not inform customers with scheduled pick up times for that day (I could've selected another florist or came to pick up earlier). Now, with an hour left before our dinner reservation there isn't enough time to scramble and get a new bouquet made. Leaving an unhappy SO. Awful customer service. Picked up a bouquet today that I ordered last week for my moms 50th birthday. I specified a bouquet of tulips and told them they could feel free to mix in some other flowers but mainly wanted it to be tulips. I went to pick them up today and was quite disappointed. There is only 5 tulips in the entire bouquet and all of the other flowers were bruised and looked like they were quite old and flimsy. I should have said something upon receiving the bouquet but I didn't and that's my mistake. I ordered my wedding bouquets and boutinierres about a month in advance of the wedding. It wasn't a huge order - just two bouquets and about 5-8 boutinierres/corsages. I told them one week in advance that my then-fiance would stop by the store the morning of the wedding at 8am to pick up the bouquets and bring them to the venue in time for our 11:30am ceremony. I was told, "We'll be open whenever you need us to be open." My husband showed up the morning of the wedding at 8am. The place was closed. He waited around and the store did not open until 10am. When he went to the counter and said that he was there to pick up the bouquets, they stared at him blankly and said "Let me go check in the back." When they returned, they said, "oh we had to wait for a few more things so it wont be ready for another hour." Obviously, they completely forgot about our order and were trying to play it off as if they were merely delayed! My poor husband was running late to his own wedding at this point. Long story short, they ended up delivering the flowers to the venue at 11:10am - 20 minutes before the ceremony began!~!~!! And the bouquets definitely looked as if they were thrown together last minute!! I was appalled that this happened. How could they not have a calendar system in place or have completely forgetten about our bouquets even after I called them just a few days before to remind them???? It made for a very stressful morning for the both of us. I will never deal with them again and would not recommend them. read more

I'm not a "buy flowers every week" kinda girl, but I have to admit that it's nice when Bald One surprises me with a bouquet. This happens after I have been particularly angry at something that is his fault (I think it's happened twice in our 4 years of marriage) or something big happens to me (last time, after I gave birth to Baby D, who was literally...something BIG that happened to me. 7 lb 5 oz. Oof.) B&B is our go-to place. For one thing, it is SUPER convenient to our condo. For another, the flowers are beautiful and fresh, and last longer than supermarket flowers. The ones at P&K - the Korean mom & pop grocer on Newark ave - also look nice, but have never bought from there so don't know about a comparison. The folks at B&B are very friendly about suggesting color combos that are pleasing to the eye and to the wallet. So it's a nice, neighborhoody place to shop, where you walk out happy that you supported a local biz and have a little packet of happiness in the crook of your arm. I was feeling pretty good about B&B in general based on the above experiences. But last December, when Bald One trudged up our 3rd floor walkup, step after belabored step, with a 6-foot green monstrosity...wool coat littered with pine needles and sap...after my initial shock, I began to LOVE B&B. This was our first ever real Christmas tree, and it was perfect for our first Christmas as (expectant) parents. The holidays were extra special this year but the tree made it that much more fun and exciting (pine needle cleanup notwithstanding). read more

Maybe going to the store is better?? This review is only based on online/phone orders. My boyfriend looked at their website and placed an order over the phone specifying the bouquet that he wanted. When the bouquet arrived, it looked nothing like it did online. The arrangement and flowers were very different. I understand having to improvise but this was just too much. I gave them 3 stars and cut them some slack simply because it was Valentine's Day. I am sure they are great florists but be careful when ordering over the phone. No problems with delivery. I can't say enough great things about this flower shop. I go in there every other week or so when I feel the need to brighten up my apartment with some fresh flowers and every time is a positive experience. Almost immediately when you walk through the door someone greets you and is ready to assist. The entire staff is warm and extremely knowledgable on flowers.
