Marti and Roger, the owners of Burkhardts flowers, provide service par excellence. They are friendly, personable and really listen to what the customer is wanting in an arrangement. The flowers are fresh and the bouquets are beautiful. My son only uses Burkhardts to buy flowers for his wife. I have seen many fabulous bouquets from Burkhardts when I go to visit and have always been impressed by the natural beauty of the arrangements. I live in another state so I called hoping that the Burkhardts could help me. It's my DILs birthday and I wanted something special. I told Marti who my son is and she remembered him and what flowers he loves to buy for his wife. Ordered a rather large fruit basket, it was delivered within 3 hours. My only issue is some of the fruit didn't look as fresh as the others. There are several places to get fruit in the area and I think.they should have went somewhere else to get some of the fruit. I would recommend tho. Very kind and fast service. I was at a garage sale next door to this florist this morning, when an elderly customer went inside to pick up flowers. The door to the business was open, so I could hear every word. The customer said that the flowers weren't the color he'd ordered. The florist started SCREAMING at him. Everyone around me was staring at the business and looking shocked. The florist was screaming things like, "JUST GET IN YOUR CAR AND LEAVE!" and "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THAT YOU WANTED RED! TOO BAD! GET THE *%#@ OUT! LEAVE!" Needless to say, the person running this business is extremely unprofessional! Yikes! read more

Flowers were delivered on the day. I didn't know until my friend told me she received them. 2 stars at least that it got delivered. A couple of gripes I have though: On the day the flowers were supposed to arrive, they didn't answer my phone calls in the afternoon (around 4pm and well before closing time) so I couldn't get a confirmation if it was delivered or not. Didn't receive any email confirmation if it did get delivered. The email address to contact them on their website does not work. When my friend received the flowers, the card didn't spell her name correctly. It was an entirely different name. I wrote the name clearly on the online order. It made it seem like whoever prepped the order didnt bother to take the order seriously... and I spent well over $100. Some of the flowers look wilted and dried out. When I finally was able to connect the call, the receiver didn't even apologize and just blamed it on the designer. I had high hopes because this business received a lot of positive reviews, but I'm pretty sure I won't use their business anytime soon. read more

Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from but I need to be honest with my own experience. Just called and spoke with a lovely woman named Marty and she couldn't have been nicer. I called out of state and had her put together a custom arrangement to be delivered to my cousins who recently lost their father. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and I told her to also put some chocolates and treats in there for them. Marty came through with flying colors and she did not disappoint. Amazing. And everything was delivered in LESS THAN AN HOUR after I called. AAAAA+++++ all the way. Highly recommend. read more

My wedding was all the way out in Milwaukie but they are more than willing to drive all the way out there to deliver your flowers for your special day. During the planning, you can meet with a floral designer more than once to go over your envisions and ideas. They give you input if you want and help you figure out what goes together, what smells awful even if it looks pretty, color combinations you'd never think about and if you change your mind after you've put in your order - it's okay! You're allowed to change your order up until 1-2 days before your event! The employees are friendly and helpful - I recommend this shop to all of my friends and co-workers! read more

You know what's funny about this place? Back when I was single, I received a bouquet of roses from this floral shop--I was also sent some roses from one of those 1-800 flowers or one of those places, the kind that come in a box and you unpack them yourself (aww thanks Dad!)-- but you know, the Burkhardts flowers started looking bad after about three days and damn if those box flowers didn't look good for 8-10 days longer! read more

First off, this is in a house in a residential neighborhood, so don't think you are lost:) Very friendly professional florist! Nice selection for fresh bouquets and good at arranging. I'm told they also do weddings. If you're in a pinch call and if they are around they will help you out at all hours! I have received flowers from this shop on several occasions and have always been happy with what I received. I was even impressed when my husband told me the story of going into this shopping look for a specific flower for me. He didn't know what it was called only generally what it looked like. Well, they must have someone their familiar with "husband speak" cause on valentine's day I received the most beautiful vase of that flower that I'd ever scene! The delivery people are always friendly and the vases are good quality. I've reused a few of them several times. Plus my flowers have always lasted far longer than I would have expected. I selected this florist based on the reviews even though the recipient lives in Forest Grove. As others wrote, Marti provided exceptional customer service. I called around 4 PM to order flowers for a friend who was coming home from the hospital after a week. When asked when I wanted them delivered I said "I supposed it's too late for today?" Imagine my surprise and delight when Marti said that even though her husband was already out delivering, she knew how important it would be for my friend to have a cheery bouquet for her homecoming. That's customer service! I asked Marti to take a picture of the flowers to send me. I ordered flowers to be delivered to the hospital and they were delivered the same day so there's no problem there. The problem is that some of the flowers look like they were wilting. I called the owner and sent her pictures and she called me back. She insisted that the flowers weren't wilting, telling me that she had cut the dahlias from her garden and they had just opened up the day before. She told me that my brother even said they were beautiful and I replied that he was just being polite. She, in turn, said "well you're being rude," then she hung up on me. However I recently ordered a sympathy arrangement for out of state and was very specific about what was wanted and not wanted. THe florist that did the arrangement ignored these instructions and produced something that was not what I wanted. Marty could not have been more apologetic and understanding, issuing me a complete refund. They provide the palms for Palm Sunday, flowers for our church members and friends in hospitals or recovering, carnations for Mother's Day, even generously donated extra flowers for our cross decoration. They are always prompt and the flowers are beautiful. Marti will customize an arrangement for you (like a new baby or a get well soon arrangement with a special item or theme). 5-STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE-- As usual I waited until the day before Mother's Day to think of sending flowers. I called Burkhardt's because they were local to the delivery destination. When I called, I got voicemail, which almost put me off, but their outgoing message said they would return my call within 15 mins so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They called back in 5 mins. I asked if it was still possible to have an arrangement sent within 24 hrs, knowing they must be crazy busy, and they said they would deliver same day. I asked about the arrangement I liked on their website and they told me which specific flowers were out of season and what flowers they would use as a substitute. Roger, who helped me on the phone, was very attentive, personable and detail-oriented. He wrote the message on the card word-for-word (perhaps a little messy but it was my exact words). They even promised to call my mom in case she was not home when they attempted delivery. When my mom received the bouquet, she sent me this photo--this would have been a $100 arrangement anywhere else--ABOVE AND BEYOND BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU, BURKHARDT'S!! read more
