Having lived and worked in Grayling for most of my twenty years here in Northern Michigan, I always try to keep my business local.  Even when businesses shift ownership, I always do my very best to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt.  Unfortunately this time, I feel as if I may have to start looking elsewhere when it comes to a local florist. Case and point; this past Valentine's Day I ordered a bouquet that looked beautiful online.  I bought with confidence because not only has the business been one I've ordered from before (and been pleased with), but the site clearly stated that the pic I was viewing was a "standard size", and for the price, it looked like a good deal.  So imagine my surprise and disappointment when I received a pic of my order from my girlfriend and the bouquet was noticeably smaller and nowhere near what the website advertised in regards to their "standard size".  Since I'm normally not one to complain about such things, I made sure I brought my concerns to a few friends and fellow coworkers who assured me my complaints were not only valid, but a few of them had also had similar experiences and have since taken their business elsewhere. I then reached out to the owners directly to let them know of my concerns and have yet to hear a response, which was even more disappointing.  I too work for a local business where I also receive occasional complaints and always make sure I address them, even if the end result may not be what the customer wants to hear.  But I always make sure they know they've been heard and that I truly do want to help even if it's not within my ability to do so.  I just wish this particular business shared that mindset. read more

Never bought flowers here, but stopped in many times for coffee and wifi. All your standard espresso drinks are made to order, and there is always one pump thermos of regular coffee and one flavored coffee. Pastries are a bit limited (and shrink wrapped) but there are other places in town for those if Josie's selection won't cut it for you. Very cozy atmosphere with lots of knicknacks both for show and for sale. Nice cafe area with a couch, a few tables, counter stools, and convenient plug ins. Don't know if I'd call it a first class coffeeshop, but in Grayling it's a godsend. read more

I ordered funeral flowers from this business two weeks ago. I told the girl on the phone to make something nice, I would leave it up to her. When we walked into the funeral home we were very pleased with what we saw. A very nicely done arrangement in a beautiful container. The family of the deceased told us how beautiful they were. They took them home after the service and they have lasted til just now. Very fresh flowers. read more

We live in Macomb but needed flowers for our sister-in-law's father's funeral in Grayling. We ordered an ivy basket called "Fairest of All" described as filled with hot pink roses, light orange roses, pink alstroemeria, ranuculas, matsumoto asters and green button spray chrysanthemums. It said that substitutions might be made, so I added a note with my order asking that we be contacted if substitutions were necessary. When we walked into the funeral home we looked for our arrangement and were shocked by what we saw. It looked nothing like it was pictured. Not even the colors were the same. We had paid extra ($89) for the "premium" fuller size. What we got were a few small white roses, a couple yellow Gerber daisies, two big pink lilies, and the green button spray chrysanthemums. It was small and wilting, and looked like we had paid maybe $30 at most. We were extremely embarrassed and very upset and angry. A few other people were disappointed with their arrangements as well. I would not ever recommend this florist to anyone. Perhaps they thought that since we were ordering from afar we probably would not be present to see the product presented? Take your business elsewhere! Better yet, order them from a florist near your home and deliver them yourself when you arrive for the funeral. A complete rip off. read more

I ordered funeral flowers and was extremely disapointed in the arrangement. Not only were the colors NOT what we had asked for, ( I could've overlooked that due to communication problems.) but the family felt robbed as instead of a big lovely "spray", we got a small bouquet in a vase. Frankly, we were embarrassed. The arrangement looked to be worth about half of what we paid! We will not be doing business with this florist again. read more
