Happened across this place when we saw "coffee and latte" on the sign out front. Enjoyable store with all Michigan made products. I understand that prices may be a little high, but as an out-of-towner I appreciate the all Michigan made items and don't mind when the product is high quality. The coffee was absolutely my favorite. Everyone welcomed our doggo, Reggie, and he even got a pup cup which you can see he enjoyed.

A store for everything Michigan From Shirts to Knick knacks to Sauces, Spices, and Jams. There is almost certainly something you will like. The one beware that I have to share is you'll be paying tourists prices. I bought some Creole Magic Sauce and some Food for Thought Apple Bourbon BBQ Sauce. They also have a cafe with snacks, coffee, and Ashby's Ice Cream. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, a little overpriced, but handy having everything in 1 place. Also check out the giant Adirondack chair outside.

Excellent big burgers and crispy fries. Best ice cream in town. Very small town, no stop lights,…read moreold time atmosphere. A few booths inside but blocked off. Had to wait a few minutes for several ice cream customers to leave. Moderate price at about $10 for a burger, med fries and med drink. Burger was loaded and juicy. Had to actually mash it down a bit to take a bite. A nice day and plenty of chairs and a couple tables outside. They said they would bring the food out to us and did so shortly. Recommended but probably will be a line on weekends.

The restaurant was covered in horrendous ai stickers which were being sold for outrageous prices. However the ridiculous pricing didn't stop there. The food was laughably priced. 9 dollars for a sandwich, not including a drink or a side. A side was 7 dollars and a drink 3 and I'm rounding down. When ordering the ladies there were obviously not enthused and had no care on how long people might wait. They even forgot my mother's drink and made her pay for another. Once again the inside was dirty. When the food, ever so slowly, came we sat outside. I will admit that was the only nice part, we sat outside with an umbrella shading us. When finally seeing the food I almost had hope that it might be good, not enough to justify the exorbitant pricing but good. The sandwhich looked big and the onion rings looked well fried. However when I took a bite of the sandwich I was extremely disappointed. Not a lick of seasons and the patty was absolutely disgustingly cheap and tough. You would be better off at McDonalds. The onion rings while more visually appealing were also quite bland. And the size of the large drink was not nearly big enough to justify the price. The real kicker is for three people it was almost 80 dollars. It would be better to eat at McDonalds and get ice cream at fudgee's in the next town over.

We had a rental house around the corner and it delighted me to have a little dessert and snack shop nearby. It's a walk up window specializing in soft serve treats like cones, sundaes, flurries, shakes and malts. The ice cream is smooth and dreamy! I had the turtle sundae and it was divine! My mom went for a soft serve with strawberries and we were impressed that it was chunks of fresh strawberries, not a fake syrup. My husband went with an orange float and it was made with local Northwoods soda. It was all so good! They also have a menu of savory snacks like soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sloppy joes. We kept talking about stopping by for a pretzel but it didn't work out so I can't speak much to their savory offerings, unfortunately. The stand itself is adjacent to the GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo and, upon looking the place up online, I learned that Kettlewell's is the name of a groundbreaking moth researcher and that's the kind of nerdy trivia that I live for. Reopening May 1st so mark your calendars!
