Also, the plants that cost me a couple of thousand dollars had many broken branches because the workers rushed to install them. They also want payment up front before any delivery/installation/scheduling. It was a horrible and stressful experience. Informing the owner of my experience resulted only in his making excuses for USG's bad actions with no apology whatsoever. ***And because I posted my review, the owner Dimitri vindictively told me that he would no longer stand behind the plants or the work done to make things right. He didn't like my honest review. Prior to my review, he was willing to make right his failures, if needed. It is disappointing that UGC is unable to acknowledge its mistakes or shortcomings, and that they do not know how to interact with customers.

Not everything was labeled with the price, they seem to get new inventory everyday so it's understandable. The staff is friendly enough to look up whatever is needed (price, plant-care info) but I didn't want to be a nuisance, so I'll probably comeback when it's less busy. I didn't read the bad review until I got home so full disclosure, I'm a person of color, a woman and a mom. I didn't feel any unwelcome undertones and I saw the staff interact with a plethora of diverse customers with respect and equality. Horrendous. Management bills it as a "luxury building" but it is nothing of the sort. Management…read morerecently farmed out control of the heat to an outside company that keeps the average heat in the building at 68 degrees, the lowest legal temperature for apartments. But, heat rises and the hot water tank is on the roof, so if you're on floors 2-9, your apartment is freezing and way below the legal standard! And guess what, management doesn't care! The super told me to file a complaint with the city, and maybe that would get something done. Oh and by the way, the water tank in the building burst today because it froze, because they didn't have enough heat on. If you're cool with paying an obscene amount of money to freeze, go for it. Otherwise, pick one of the thousand other options on the Upper West Side.
