Before the start they did have wine and charcuterie set up for the attendees which is a nice extra! There were two long tables set up for the attendees so everyone had their own work station. The gal teaching the class gave a lesson about greens and where they are from and what they are used for and how to assemble! They provided all the florals , the vase and supplies for the class. I had gathered 40+ vases for centerpieces and she allowed me to drop them off months in advance so she could keep at her house and pre-arrange the flowers. Retreat Interiors' window display sucked us in, and I'm so glad it did. As soon as you step inside, you are mesmerized by the decor and use of space of the shop. Located in a historic building with a staircase to the left of the store, the high ceiling makes the store even feel more open and bright. Plus, the space smells so nice with plants and small soaps and body lotions sold inside. What I was most intrigued by the store was the selection of succulents sold here! Lots of air plants and cases for air plants are sold here, ranging in different sizes and styles. They also have a space towards the back of the store where you can build your own terrarium! I wish I had a bigger green thumb, just so I could appreciate all that Retreat Interior has to offer. In fact, the store here makes you wanna have a green thumb! It feels like it is someone's personal garden that is shared with visitors. Sometimes it can be a little challenging to find things, but it is usually a fun hunt. After spending 20 min searching we finally found a row of lime colored hydrangea and one pink one. My daughter happily picked it up and loaded it in the cart as it was the one thing we came to find and she was so proud she was the one who spotted it. It takes a lot to get my teenaged daughter to spend time with me, but today I was able to bribe her with a stop to Snohomish pie co as this was a belated birthday gift to me and we also needed dessert. We wondered down towards the trees on our way to check out when an employee an up to us asking if we found the pink one standing with other hydrangeas. We confirmed yes and she said it was intended for someone else. I asked to take a pic of the tag and she then picked it up and took it away. We were incredibly shocked and disappointed. Although we had a few other things on our cart after chatting with another team member we chose to not purchase. That interaction ruined our fun mom daughter date. As I was leaving I happened to to see the employee and after sending my daughter to the car with our pup I approached to just share with "Mikayla" how disappointed and upset we were both leaving. I wanted to express that it wasn't just a purchase today, but us spending some of our last years/months together before she is too busy for me with her own life. Mikayla was not empathetic an all and acted very matter of fact in that she had no control over it. The fact is it wasn't sold, wasn't tagged, not on a cart and no one was near them. I asked her name and she was away sharing over her shoulder while rolling her eyes "have a nice day". I was already on the verge of tears and although my intention was not to be mad and just express how it had really dampened our day I felt completely disregarded and chose to seek out a manager. After approaching another team member he let me know he'd grab someone to speak with me. "Mikayla" approached and offered to see when they'd get more in and I shared I could easily look online myself or go to flower world. I was able to talk with Anne who seemed to understand what I was trying to convey. I just needed someone to listen to my perspective five. She also offered that they could keep an eye out, but because I was crying I shared it wouldn't change what happened. It's just a plant at a store, but it wasn't just that for us and someone walking around with a radio disregarding anyone but her list of things she needed to do really broke our hearts. Lesson learned, not all of mccaulifes employee exude the same helpfulness and care as the others.

I didn't have to say a word about what my vision was because she is just that good. I gave her my ideas and she ran with it, and my husband and I couldn't have been happier!! Jessica is so fun to work with, very easy going and is very knowledgeable of her work. That made me feel very calm on the big day which was a lifesaver. We still have people who attended our wedding rave about how beautiful the flowers were and what an extreme amount of work it had been to make it all come together. I think what I loved the best about the flowers besides all of it, was the arch. I didn't know what I wanted because we all know how crazy planning a wedding can be so I just told her "whatever you think would look amazing, do it!" And boy did she ever make that arch look fantastic!! Oh and let me tell you about my bridal bouquet!! DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! I cried like a little baby when I held that bouquet. Tears of pure joy. Jessica puts so much time and energy into her work and it shows. I had people from my wedding party telling me how hard she was working from the minute the venue opened until the moment that wedding started. She kept fine tuning every flower and making them look perfect for our special day. I couldn't have asked for a better florist not only because she is very easy and fun to work with but because her work speaks for itself. The other awesome thing was that Jessica drove 2 plus hours to the wedding site. Talk about committed to her work! I have told numerous people about her because I believe in her work.
