What a hidden gem of a place. And pricing is better than FW. I has to buy some Boston ferns for a wedding. And a friend recommended Snohomish Harden Center. I have lived in snohomish for 20+ years and never knew this place existed. So I went on my friends recommendation. Arrived on a mid week afternoon. It was a little busy and a little chaotic but was able to speak w the owner to order 10 large 24" pots / Boston ferns. OwnWe preordered for me and I came down week of the wedding. I discussed wanting very full almost 2 foot wide plants. They weee FAR more beautiful than expected. Lush green, healthy. Apparently he has to push a few folks away from my lot as they wanted to buy them too. Absolutely gorgeous and healthy. The ones in the car are the day I picked up. And the finals pics are in the ceremony venue later that week. Btw the are still going strong. We have them to all our helpers and I held on to a couple. I'll be back for more plants for my yard. Prices are amazing. Literally buying these here saved me 47% from another place and that's after the small discount they would have offered. Oh my goodness, how did I not know this place existed before now??? This is one of the coolest nurseries/garden centers I've visited in the PNW, combining an amazing selection of allllll things plants, veggies, etc. with terrific prices. Sure, there are "prettier" nurseries around. And I love those too. But wow, can they get expensive. And as fun as it is to wander around a deluxe greenhouse full of garden grandeur, it can also get very expensive. So I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that Snohomish Garden Center's prices were substantially lower than other places I've visited to adorn my new yard. And their selection, especially of veggie starts, is over the top. While many stores and garden centers might have 4-5 varieties of tomato plants to buy, SGC had more varieties than I could count. I noticed this about other veggies too: several types of lettuce, colorful rainbows of carrots, and multiple varieties of other veggies were plainly on display. The only decision is: how many and which ones? I also love that most of the business is under cover, which was especially nice this weekend when it was raining nonstop during our visit. And while it lacks a fancy retail area full of tempting gardeny things like birdhouses and patio furniture, they do carry a huge array of various soils, groundcovers, and other necessities. Bonus: they've got nursery dogs. And the staff is super nice and helpful too! Can't wait to go back here and fill my garden with goodness. read more

Another wonderful nursery up in Snohomish, I didn't know about it until my friend suggested visiting. We just got a house and a garden that needs lots of work, so we were excited to find this gem with a good choice and reasonable prices. My husband and I stopped by the Snohomish Garden Center last spring to check out the inventory when it was time for me to update my planter boxes on our balcony. It was lovely then but I neglected to write a review! Well here I am a year later, again visiting SGC because - you guessed it - I needed to update my planter boxes! Same solid options - a plethora of plants, prearranged planter boxes, and hanging baskets - and simple pricing. 95% of the plants I perused were healthy, so it's clear they take care of the place. Begonias, ranunculus, fuchsia, and more were available in a rainbow of colors. Staff can be a little rough around the edges but the majority are friendly and helpful. It's a well-organized spot with carts and carrier boxes ready to go, wide walkways/aisles, and a small parking lot with overflow street parking available on sunny spring days like today that have the masses flocking to garden and yard spots like SGC. As others have said, there's not a ton here in the way of decor or tools, but if you're strictly looking for a lot of options at fair prices, this spot can't really be beat! read more

I worked here about 10 years ago. Randy was an up and comer after taking over Salvedelina's. i kept shopping here to support this small business. This year, i came by twice. on the third visit in June, I asked if they were closing because the inventory was so low. All the outdoor greenhouses had become storage areas without a single plant. The wife (?) said that the season is basically over and i should notice the empty greenhouses. I was shocked. As a former employee of this establishment and of Flower World for 3 years afterwards, I was astounded and in disbelief. June is NOT the end of the season in Western WA. As an avid gardener, I was hoping to add to my patio baskets some new annuals snd maybe a few perennials that had died from the hard winter. There were so few products that I left empty handed. I was incredibly sad. This business could have continued for another month or more and then segued into fall. I am disappointed by this turn in the business planning by them choosing to stop selling beautiful plants to local customers. This was not the dream I saw in the new entrepreneur 5 years ago. read more

For the experienced gardener who has a pretty good idea what to buy--but doesn't want to pay an inflated price--this is one of the better spots I've found. My front yard started out nice, but as a few plants aged out and other space opened up, I've found myself needing a lot more foliage and vegetation to make things look nice again. The idea this week was to get a large batch of lavender plants that would fill in one bed over time, and maybe some annuals to fill in space between those plants temporarily. Nurseries around me in town wanted $12-15 for 1-gallon lavenders, but SGC had a dozen to choose from, all at $5.99. They really do an amazing job of getting the extra crap out of the way. Nothing against the fancy nurseries that sell decorations, patio stuff, and extra services like flocked Christmas trees and all that, but SGC avoids that padding and focuses completely on plants. Their prices show it--and the health and vigor of the specimens show it, too. You pull in to an all-gravel parking lot surrounded by acres (literally) of greenhouses. They build the greenhouses by hand, it looks like. Simple arch construction with visqueen roofs. Nothing fancy at all, but super cheap, and it's enough to do the job. The display tables are all plywood on cinder blocks, with house-made irrigation piping running underneath where it's needed. You get the definite sense the owners made this with maybe the help of a few hired hands. There's enough concrete on the ground to push your shopping cart around without having to get into the gravel, but that's about it. They do have restrooms, but there's very little in the way of garden tools or other non-plant inventory. The staff know their stuff, and can answer questions, but there's often a line of people with other questions, so this isn't really the place to come for long-time lovin' from salesfolk. I do get the sense that you can pull your vehicle behind the greenhouses to load large amounts of plants, to save hauling them around the property. The selection here is amazing--shrubs, trees, grasses, perennials, annuals, baskets, hanging baskets, everything you need to landscape your garden beds. They have pallets of mulch, compost, and potting soil up front, and there's probably fertilizer around. Yesterday was the sunniest Saturday in months, so for a sprawling place like this with great prices, the turnout was predictably huge, with long lines all over the place. They raced through it, though. They do a great job here. They must dread these first sunny weekends, though--all of us stuffy suburbanites descend on nurseries and hardware stores on days like these. read more

I love the Elle Belle candles and they have become my favorite candles. They are a big part of my after work relaxation and nighttime routine. SUPER nursery! I only found this gem toward the end of last summer, but still went multiple times. SGC provides a huge variety of healthy, reasonably priced plants including many that are unusual and/or hard to find. I am not one for common plants, and they have plenty of choices for all types of gardeners. Their customer service is outstanding and they have darling dogs as well! 2019 is our last year in the PNW so I am dying to get back to SGC whenever spring decides to show up. read more

Our first visit here. Loved the dogs lounging around, very sweet. They have a lot of variety and prices SEEM good. BUT....there's hardly any prices posted. Kind of a guessing game for how much you're accumulating in the old shopping basket. I picked up a small rosemary plant, 3 tomato starts and 3 small seed potatoes. I was charged $6 for the seed potatoes! The cashier said it was an average price for them. $2 per potato seems excessive. Didn't instill confidence in how they price out things and I don't like to guess at how much I'm spending so I doubt we'll return. read more

Wonderful quality plants. I found out about this nursery several years ago and it is a favorite because of the couple that own and manage it. They are very knowledable and helpful. The prices aren't marked on each container but there are large signs on the the tables stating the prices. Availability and prices change. My first visit this season there were gorgeous violas for $1.00 a plant. My chocomocha cosmos bought there actually has a chocolate fragrance. Made two baskets with violas and coleus that are beautiful. So from flowering plants to herbs and veggie starts, fruit trees and unusual choices this is my nursery! read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place. There is a wide variety of options to choose from. The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful. They have the sweetest dogs ever, they are friendly, but not in your face jumping on you like some peoples dogs. I have been here several times and never had an issue. They have a recycling spots to return pots, to help reduce waste. Plants are clearly labeled and priced, no surprises here. I also find the pricing & quality of plants to be better than the big stores. Fredmeyers, Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes tend to cost 3x as much for plants that are either drowning or dying. read more

Second yelp review to share a terrible experience I had today at Snohomish Garden Center. My excitement upon arrival quickly dissipated when my non-aggressive dog was attacked in the parking lot by four resident dogs with a black and white springer spaniel as the instigator. I broke up the dog fight, put my dog in the car and approached the man at the desk. I asked the gentleman at the front desk who owned the springer and he said he did. I told him what just happened and he could care less (he also likely saw the fight as he was 20feet away when I was yelling). His exact response was: "well sometimes they get into the pack mentality." So question: If you know your dogs are aggressive in a pack- why not leash the instigator? I love dogs at work and dont blame the dog, I blame the owner who is irresponsible. This was a terrible customer experience. read more

Home Depot and Lowes....not any more....thier plants always die and their guarentee is not a guarentee, you have to bring back your receipt, the plant and the container they came in with the bar code on it! Seriously, who keeps the container! and are way over priced. I love this place, two golden retrievers to greet you if they are awake! Hanging plants are the best, tons to choose from and fairly priced. Love browsing through the greenhouses, makes you feel like you are in Hawaii with the warm humid air. The prices of the plants are not clearly marked so be prepared to be shocked at the register. Also some of the plants are not for sale and you dont know it until you get to the register and have to take half your order back and lose your place in line. plus... to really top off the bad experience they will be very rude to you at the counter.
