I have mixed feelings about this. First the good: When my fiance and I first started looking at vendors, we loved Kay. She was the first wedding vendor that was clearly on her game. She was very organized, very type-A and we loved it. She took over the interview, answered all our questions and made us feel confident in our choice. She never tried to push her ideas on to us and force us into doing something we didn't want like several florists did. We were happy when we booked her and planned throughout the year. She was responsive to emails and everything seemed to be going well. Then a few weeks before the wedding we met her to finalize things and this is where it got not great for me. She updated her estimate and somehow it was like 40% MORE than her estimate. It was a humongous shock and I was really angry. We had LESS guests coming to the wedding then what we originally estimated so really, the costs on everything should come down, not go up. I was really upset by this because her original estimate was at our top of the budget. We told her no, the costs need to get back down to the estimate. We cut out a lot of things and she re-worked her estimate and it was closer to the original number. I felt like it was deceptive to estimate something and then be completely off the mark. A few hundred dollar difference is one thing, another $600 or $700 is absurd. Her invoices were never really clearly labeled, so I think that's part of the problem. I wanted an itemized list and firm numbers. Despite that, I AM happy with Kay...the flowers on the wedding day were absolutely PERFECT and gorgeous and couldn't have been better. From the moment I met Kay at the Portland Bridal Show, I knew that she was going to be my wedding florist! She's friendly, warm and SO helpful. During my consultation, I showed her my Pinterest 'wedding floral board' and she helped identify each element of the bouquets I loved. We then built my bridal bouquet with a combination of my favorite stems. She 'warned' me that peonies were going to be extremely hard to come by due to the time of my wedding (late June), so we identified some alternative stems that would still give my bouquets the look I was after. I was so excited when Kay called the week of my wedding to let me know she was able to find peonies. I was absolutely blown away by how great of a job Kay did of my flowers. From start to finish she was by far the best vendor to work with. She was very organized and always communicated ahead of time to keep everything going smoothly. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and relieved so much stress for me. Then just when I thought she couldn't be better the flowers on my wedding day far exceeded my expectations! She took my vision and the feelings/ideas I had and perfectly turned it into exactly what I wanted. She didn't need specific instructions on what to do, she is so creative that she can literally turn a mood and feeling/ some favorite colors into a stunning and perfect floral arrangement. Kay did our wedding floral and it was so amazingly perfect in every way! If you're looking for a florist for any occasion, I highly recommend Flowers For You!! Not only is she such a warm and friendly person, she is a talented florist who created the most beautiful and perfect floral accents for my recent wedding. Kay was absolutely wonderful to work with! My wife and I were in AWE when the final products were delivered. Kay was punctual, prompt, productive and so very professional. My gentlemen were SHARP with their boutenieres! But, the ladies... they were exquisite and my bride was purely stunning with their bouquets. I really enjoyed working with Kay. But unfortunately I have to give her a 3. I showed her photos of what I wanted for my bridesmaids and she did fabulous, I showed her what we wanted for centerpieces and she did fabulous... but the most important thing.... my bouquet... she didn't execute properly... I showed her photos and she didn't do mine the way I wanted at all... instead she made my bouquet basically match my bridesmaids and added some foliage... I wanted a beautiful cascading bouquet but I got a Pom Pom bouquet. Maybe she just forgot and I didn't remind her enough. But, truly, Kay was awesome to work with.
