The flowers were OK, but definitely not the value of what we paid. But the worst part is that I had come in from out of state and went to the shop the day before the wedding. I understand the shop was busy, but to not take the time to talk to me and provide an opportunity to see the flowers I was absolutely floored. I guess once they have your money there was no need to be professional or remotely kind. I would not recommend this florist. They are overpriced and lack service skills. We paid for delivery and set up, yet when I arrived at the venue the flowers for the ceremony had been left for the wedding coordinator to deal with. We had ordered 4 "cloud" type arrangements for the ceremony area that were so small it was laughable. They were not substantial enough to be placed on the pillars because the coordinator was afraid they would blow off with the gentle gusts of wind. Knowing that the ceremony was outside, and that those arrangements were to frame the area for the ceremony, if the florist would have done what we paid them to do and set up the flowers, they could have either used heavier vessels for those arrangements or they could have used any number of floral tools whether it be floral tape or floral putty to assure the arrangements were in the place on the pillars as they were supposed to be. Isn't that what someone would expect for a delivery and set up fee? Charlottesville is a touristy town so naturally I was prepared to pay more than I would in my hometown, however, I wasn't expecting to be gouged and then not receive the service we had paid for.

We bought our furniture about 2 months before we would be able to have it delivered. When we explained our situation to the owner, she was more than willing to hold the furniture for as long as she could at the store until we were ready. We found a table we really liked and would work well in size and color. The owner took the time to look online to find the same chairs for our island seating. We went ahead and ordered the table, chairs, and island chairs. The price was extremely reasonable and actually below other name brand stores we looked at. The owner told me upfront that it would take at least 30 days for the island chairs to come in (which worked in our favor)! The owner left personalized cards in the door letting us know to call her. That impressed me with her driving to the house just to leave a "please call me note". We picked up the table and chairs and everything looks great! We are so excited to have the kitchen finished so we can set it up. I will shop with Village Furniture again from this experience.

After a few weeks, I inquired on delivery and was told: "all the factories are closed for the Holidays". After the holidays, in early January 2019, I inquired again on a delivery date and was told, my order was on a truck somewhere. A week later I decided to look online for this product. What I learned there made me reach out again to the owner to cancel my order. She claimed my order was a 'special order' and could not be canceled. I again requested to cancel the order she said no, that it was a special order. I was forced to go through my credit card, show all the documentation (all communication was done via text messages) + show them the items I ordered could be deliverable within two days on more than five other sites + 30% less than what the owner of Village Furniture was charging me. I got my money back from the Bank NOT the owner. She never even responded to my Banks inquiry into the matter. An interesting fact is the items I wanted were in her store at the time of the order. She could have sold me what she had in stock. What I completely hate about what happened is the owner didn't tell the truth even when it was staring her in the face. I used to go there all the time when in town at Louisa, but no more. I can not/will not support someone who does business as she does. ****In response to this review on Facebook she claims that this issue "didn't transpire this way", yet I have all the texts and bank backing to prove otherwise. Most people are honest, however, the owner of Village Furniture is not one of the honest, reputable business owners.

Growing over 70 varieties of beautiful, seasonal flowers nestled in 3 acres (and growing) of gardens to explore, the farm welcomes guests to pick their own flowers, attend flower-inspired events and workshops, learn how to create their own cut-flower garden, or just enjoy the gardens (and pond!). They also have a pop-up flower truck available to rent for your special event. We recently hosted a group (from California, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Nepal) in our Louisa County home to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our daughter called the farm to ensure that they were open for visitors and off we went. Our visit to Hidden Pond Farm was a double-win -- allowing a fun, pick-your-own flowers family activity AND providing beautiful floral decorations for the party. We came back with five bouquets (@ $10 each), a real bargain for the beautiful flowers and the fun activity. Even a 2-year old enjoyed running on the paths next to the flower gardens. We also enjoyed talking with the friendly owner. A few notes -- (1) the farm is open April-October; (2) open dates and times are subject to change based on weather, field conditions, and bloom availability. We recommend calling ahead before venturing out. (3) no pets allowed. (4) professional photography prohibited (unless prior permission is granted). (5) no smoking. (6) restrooms are NOT AVAILABLE. (6) this is a working farm -- so there will be dirt, mud, uneven ground, bugs, and occasionally poo. (7) dress appropriately. Wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and sunscreen (the gardens are in full sun).
