After considering the typical online florists I decided to go with someone local for two reasons; ratings and good local florists tend to add a more personal touch to your purchase. I chose this company because they had some very unique pieces and the tropical vibe of their arrangements was alluring to me. The online ordering option made it easy for my purchase. I did upgrade though, I don't know fully what the upgrade entailed. I called the shop prior to completing my order and was informed that the original orchids were not available. Though disappointed I was assured that the piece would still be lovely. The pictures satisfied me enough to finalize the purchase. Delivery was seamless and my mother in law was thrilled to receive her birthday flowers. Never had to call and ask where the delivery was and didn't have to wait until the late evening for delivery to occur. Go local and try this spot. I will for sure order again. Thank you FFTR!!! We wanted to have a plant delivered out of state, so I took to Yelp to find a local florist to help us out. Flowers from the Rainforest had the most reviews, however, none of the Yelpers were familiar to me (no surprise there since it is an out of state business after all) nor particularly (currently?) active members. I was hesitant, but with no better ideas, and since their website was informative with pictures to go with the price quotes, I bit. Kelly took the order over the phone. I asked for a photo to be sent to me, but unfortunately Kelly didn't have a digital camera available, and the owner was out. Oh well. It was early afternoon, and we placed an order for a living floral plant to be delivered that day. Before 5pm, I received an email that the plant had been delivered. Later on, I received a message from the recipient saying that the plant had arrived "in good shape." Note: Price quote online is pre-tax and pre-delivery charge of $9.99. read more

I am going to keep this very simple. I chose this florist because of the positive reviews and initially I felt that I made a wise choice. After the end result, I cannot rate them well. I realize the rating is partially an emotional reaction, but the significance of their service and delivery really determined the entire level of satisfaction. There are two moments in life that are absolute: Birth and death. A dear friend of mine passed away last week (hence the emotional element of the review). Being unable to attend her memorial service has caused me a fair amount of remorse. In the very least, I felt that I would at least send flowers - preferably ones that would bloom annually. After finding Flowers From the Rainflorist on yelp, based on the proximity, reviews and pictures, I decided to call them. A gentleman by the name of "Tom" answered and he was extremely helpful. He helped me decide on what flowers to send and promised to that he had a particular pair of orchids in mind. The service was at 11:30, so Tom said he would plan for 10:30am to ensure they were on-time. I felt *immensely* relieved to know that I would be able to represent and pay my respects to my friend and her family. I thought it would be alright... I thought wrong. The next day, I received a call from the florist owner at 11:35 stating that the driver got stuck in traffic and that they were running late, with excuses about traffic on N. University or Commercial Blvd... Mind you, they were supposedly planning for 10:30, meaning had they left before 10:30 they still very likely should have been on time. Door to door the distance is 2.5 miles: a 6 minute drive (without traffic) a 15 minute bike ride, a 40 minute walk. If traffic were really a factor, they could have diverted to other directions and gone around the traffic. I was stunned. I didn't even know what to say. I simply implored her to get them to the family. I called back 15 minutes later, they had missed the service... Now they were trying to locate the family through the priest.. The owner called me back 10 minutes later to tell me that they found the family and handed the flowers to my friend's mother as she was sitting and consulting with the priest, whom I am sure was clearly consoling the family. I can't imagine how that went or how incredibly awkward it was to interrupt the family to hand this grieving woman a flower arrangement, with my name on it, while she is in despair... I am entirely embarrassed. Instead of being seamless, it was incredibly awkward... And, after an incredibly weak excuse, there was no sense of an attempt to make it right (if it even could have been), only a hollow attempt at an apology and an assurance that 'this has never happened before' (as if that makes it better)... I really wanted to cancel in that moment; however, the prospect of doing so was distressing considering the situation and my inability to pay my respects in person. They totally screwed the pooch on this one. If there are situations where timeliness is of the utmost importance, this is one of them. As I said; there is an emotional component to my review. Emotional, but entirely valid and rational. For this reason, I will never use this florist again; nor would I ever suggest that anyone else use them if timing is a consideration. read more

I can't say enough about the service I received at Flowers from the Rainflorest. I live in MD. I decided to send a cake to freind's Fort Lauderdale office for his birthday a day late. At 1pm in the afternoon I set out to find someone to deliver said cake, same-day. I expected it to cost me a fortune, if I could find someone to do it on such short nice. After a quick google search, I called and Flowers from the Rainflorest sprung into action!!!! And they were incredibly affordable!!!! I ordered the Chocolate Drizzle cake which was delivered in about 1.5 hours from the time of my call. I took a huge chance using google, but Rainforest saved the day!!! I was already a day late!!!! But thanks to the affordability, I won't end up a dollar short!!!!!! AND, I'm told the cake was great!!!! They also sell champagne, wine, chololate, and other treats for delivery too!!! The owner told me she will deliver other personalized itmes along with my Rainflorest order, if I ship them to her with enough time. Terrible. I placed an order online for delivery the morning of valentines day (I am aware of short notice). Sherry (the owner) then calls me to inform me of the large banner on her site saying they aren't taking orders. I was on my phone where that wasn't posted and told her as much. She then rudely told me, "Sweetypie you just need to order earlier" which was EXTREMELY condescending. I said I'd be by for lunch to pick up something and she cuts me off and says, "Look I have to go." I would've easily went there and bought 80-90 dollars worth of flowers but I will never step foot in that door because of the way I was treated. read more

I called them at 5:45 PM and the owner said she didn't know I wanted them delivered during the day???!!!!!!! So sending valentines in the evening when your not at work is acceptable. I won't be using them again. Tried to organise delivery while out of the country for Valentine's Day paid circa $200 including delivery. Flowers arrived next day. (Which in your wife's eyes means you forgot) and I ordered/paid for 6 orchids and they only delivered 5. I guess they thought I would not find out! When I arrived back in the USA I discovered they had telephoned to arrange delivery which to my mind defeats the whole purpose of the surprise of Valentines Day. Not good enough I'm afraid. The flowers were stunning. Exactly as I'd hoped they would be. Every year, you never fail to amaze. My mother adored them. Prompt delivery, as usual. Living in Toronto, you've always been wonderfully accommodating and the flowers are really something... That being said, when someone with a long-standing account asks for instructions (in this case, a communication), they should be followed, or at least acknowledged with some correspondence to explain a policy or for clarification. Customer service is a huge part of why I frequent a retailer. In fact, it accounts for about half of my decision to purchase. A gorgeous bouquet can be found in many places, but prompt and friendly service, sadly, cannot. This is what happened to me; I placed an order online to have flowers deliver around 8 am paid an additional fee for delivery "guarantee" before 2PM, when 2PM comes around and nothing is delivered I called and all they had to say was "oh, the florist who took your order cancelled because they didn't have the materials to build it" why take the order in the first place or at least let me know about it!
