When I arrived I drove through the property to park and then was greeted by a bunch of friendly groundskeepers there. I was amazed at how many different species of plants they had there. Mike was super friendly, and even gave me a tour around the property on a golf cart. He described a bunch of the interesting species, how tall they got, and even the countries they originated from. I couldn't believe that there was literally dozens of rows to make up hundreds, even thousands of different plant species on the property. They even have a garden section around natural bodies of water with so many lovely plants there. It's difficult to decide what you even want to buy! I ended up with a plant that caught my eye and was shocked at how affordable it is! A nursery like this is something I highly recommend to visit and support as it's so upsetting to see the nearby properties being bulldozed and turned into new houses. I really hope Jesse Durkos Nursery thrives for years to come because it really is a gem within Davie.

Located conveniently off Griffin Rd, it's hard to miss & has plenty of parking in the front. It seems like there's always a couple of employees walking around who are eager to help out. Their space is not massive by any means but it's set up to get the most out of it & they do it well. It's clearly sectioned off so you can easily find what you're looking for. Trees, native & exotic plants, fruit & vegetable plants, succulents, flowers; there's no shortage of variety here. They also do a good job at rotating their selection. I like that there's usually something new to me when I visit. For the most part, prices are great. If you're on a budget, you can walk away with an armful of succulents or small potted flowers for under $15. Also, There's always a sale of some sort. Like other places, they have things that are very expensive but at least the quality of these products seem good. Supporting local businesses is always a great thing to do so I try to stop by here monthly. If you're a fan of gardening or want to get started, this is a great place to check out. I called…read moreearly Saturday morning around 8:30 AM and spoke with a very helpful woman who told me they had just cut fresh St. Augustine grass. She arranged to have it delivered between 12 and 2 PM the same day. Right on time at 12 o'clock, the delivery driver arrived with a semi-truck and forklift. He was incredibly professional and skillfully placed all five pallets of sod in convenient spots around my backyard, making it so easy for us to access and install. From start to finish, Pop's Nursery was professional, friendly, and efficient. They even called ahead to confirm delivery time, which I really appreciated. You don't find many places that operate this smoothly anymore--and their prices are very reasonable, too. Highly recommend!!

Zensation Gardens sells handmade concrete fountains and sculptures from Bali, an interesting selection of bonsai trees, and indoor and outdoor plants that include bamboo, palm trees, gardenias, orchids, and colorful bougainvillea. Workmen dragged full wheelbarrows of concrete mix from the front of our house to our backyard. They…read moredid this for days so they made a deep trench in the grass between our house and our neighbor's. We texted pics of the damage to our neighbor with a promise to lay sod as soon as the work was completed. Finally! The work is completed. Whoo hoo! I knew to buy sod from Nu-Turf because I've done so a couple of times through the years. They are really nice guys and their St. Augustine sod is hearty. You can see it's grown in rich soil - look at the pics of the underside of the sheets of sod! We didn't even have to go to their shop to get great service. They make it easy - we actually called them on Monday, enroute to go shopping, to arrange for half of a pallet to be delivered to our house on Saturday. We weren't sure if we needed a full pallet and the guy who we spoke with told us that half of a pallet has about 40 pieces. That'd do it! We ordered half of a pallet ($135). There's a $45 delivery fee and a $6 pallet deposit fee so we'll return the pallet this week. They delivered the sod with no problem. They even asked us where we wanted the pallet dropped - we chose the swale between two main areas needing sod so we didn't have to go far to lay the sod. The sod sheets are approximately a foot and a half by two feet. We had enough to fill in the trench from the wheelbarrow, the dead zone where pallets of pavers sat on our front lawn and other bald work areas around the property. The product is great. The price is right. The guys were easy to work with and consultative. Don't you love it when companies come through for you? Years ago the guys in the shop turned me on to a retractable rake and plant hormone - I still use both and think that if I didn't shop at Nu-Turf I would have lost out on having insight about what to use and how to use it. I am always on the look out for what else I can add in my limited space. If you are looking for fruit trees they have a large selection here. They had all the citrus favorites like orange, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, and lime. They also sell papaya, jackfruit, kumquat, avocado, longan, plantain, bread fruit, mango, lychee, June plum, all spice, tamarind, Florida peach, kiwi, gooseberry, fig, coconut, olive, sugar apple, custard apple, and mammee apple to name just a few. They have hundreds of varieties of rare and exotic fruit trees. Everything is grown organic without pesticides. The Wild Flamingo is also a farmers market. They sell eggs, raw honey, produce, and ice cream. The owner Darren was on hand and ready to answer any questions. The exceptional customer service is what sets this nursery apart. I had a nice chat with him and he showed me a lettuce plant that you can keep on your counter so you can pick fresh lettuce lettuce whenever you want. I loved the cats and chickens roaming the property. I am narrowing down which tree I want and when I am ready to purchase this is definitely where I want to get it from.

There's a small roundabout where you're supposed to be able to drive around to get back out, but because there were a lot of cars and we were in a truck, it was impossible to do so. If you visit after it's been raining, be careful when you walk on the black weed block. The ground is uneven in some places and there are puddles underneath. That being said, they do have a nice selection of citrus trees, papaya, guava, fig, olive, noni, and Barbados Cherry. I'm sure there are a bunch of other trees that I missed. The trees looked very healthy and prices were decent.
