Ok for starters I thought what I paid for the flowers was a bit much, it was over one hundred dollars, but that wasnt the worst the flowers were supposed to be in a pretty red vase, they werent, then had my brother take a picture so I could see them, what they really looked like, didnt look anything like the picture I ordered from, then they looked kind of old not fresh like they should, last but not least called them and told them about the flowers I ordered from them and was told this story about how they got the flowers from someone else because the place they went to didnt have a florist in the place they were supposed to go and I checked and they had more than one, anyway to say I was dissatisfied with Clarence Walker flowers is a gross understatement I would stay clear from these people, you have been warned, dont like to see other people get took, also asked for a refund and that isnt going to happen. read more

I wanted to send mylar balloons to an ICU patient at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. I called a few florists and did not get much help. Then I called Clarence Walker for Flowers. WOW! A wonderful and understanding lady named Linda helped me. Other places tried to sell me balloon bouquets with latex balloons. They are not allowed in the ICU. Linda already knew that. She put together a custom mylar bouquet. She treated me like I was the only customer they had. And of course I am not. I got exactly what I wanted and same day delivery even though it was about 12:30 already. I highly recommend them. And if you are lucky enough to get Linda, consider yourself blessed. read more

My partner and I ordered flowers for my mother's birthday on 2/12, and as a native from the area, I told my partner to order from Clarence Walker. Of course, why not support local businesses, right? We placed an online order for the timeless tulips (item #800-91317) a few mins after 8am just to make sure they would get delivered to her on the same day. We also placed special instructions on our order to ensure the order would be delivered properly. After placing the order online, my partner called the store to make sure they received the online order. My partner confirmed the arrangement ordered (orange, yellow, and purple tulips) and if the special delivery instructions were noted. I called my mother to let her know that she'd receive something special and to be on the look out. By 3pm, my mother called and confirmed that she did not receive anything. I called the shop (that is only 4 blocks away from her house) and was told that the driver did not feel comfortable following the special delivery instructions, which were simple: Leave the flowers on the porch and to call (#) upon delivery. People usually utilize the special delivery instructions section for a reason. We thought it necessary to utilize it due to my mom's schedule. She works graveyard and would be sleep during the day. So, leaving her special delivery on the porch would be a great gift for her to wake up to. Thinking to myself, "Hmmm...so the driver doesn't feel comfortable following instructions and no one called me? Ok!" I asked the store when should I expect her flowers to be re-delivered. They informed me that they would be re-delivered within the hour since she lives 4 blocks away. By 5pm, my mom had not received the flowers. We called the store again only to have someone else pull the order from the back and tell us that the driver left a note stating that he couldn't find the house number reflected on the order. Thinking again, "Now, we have a different story from the first one and still no one thought to call!?" Then we were told that a delivery driver had not been sighted for a few hours and he wasn't sure when they will get delivered. By this time I am more than upset, but very calm. I informed the gentleman that since they couldn't follow our instructions or communicate effectively, my mother would come pick up her flowers and I expected a credit to my account for the delivery charge. In the end, her tulips were some half-ass thrown together orange and yellow tulips. Not only that, but I had to call the shop today because I received a credit for a portion of the delivery charge. But hey, they did mail me a copy of my order so I guess I can give them credit for that. When I called today regarding the credit for the delivery charge, I was given this excuse: "We're busy on Valentines Day." Thanks for letting my know that you are busy and that you do not give every customer the same attention...I appreciate it. I've been going to Walker for all my little years of buying flowers, but after what I experienced and the attitude my mother received from a tired worker who was pissed he would be working till midnight to deal with the VDay rush...I will never go to them again! read more

Why oh why didn't I check Yelp before I used this company? I ordered a sympathy arrangement and had looked through 4 websites and finally chose Clarence Walker because of the beauty of the arrangement. One good point is that they did find Calla lilies which Linda did tell me they might be hard to get. However, what was delivered looked NOTHING like the arrangment that I ordered! The length of the flowers arranged, the greenery in the arrangement and the shape of the vase! One of the reasons to go through a florist is for their expertise, what was delivered I could have done myself and saved $100. Their website has an "Our Guarantee" which they do not stand by. When I sent them an email regarding my disapointment (but also my thanks for getting the out of season flowers) the email I finally recieved addressed that the designer said "it is virtually impossible to make a stylized arrangement as shown in the picture". They addressed the flowers were heavy and move a great deal in a delivery vehicle. They said it was possible the driver or my friend moved the flowers around.They addressed the arrangement was maybe better than what I ordered because of where they were placed in the home (I attached the picture of what I ordered and a picture of what was sent). There was NO apology about my dissapointment, no offer to replace or refund. Please do not spend (waste) your money at this establishment. P.S. Last year when my son graduated from High School I ordered $200 + worth of Leis (my family is from Hawai'i) and they arrived via Fed Ex on time, the leis were in a box wrapped in Ti Leaves and newspaper, fresh, beautiful and gorgeous. So this year when my daughter was graduating from University, I decided to again use Clarence Walker for the Leis. Why oh why did I do that??????? Again - it was $200+ worth of Leis. They were supposed to arrive on Thursday as we were leaving on Friday morning to go down to Salem and the graduation was on Saturday. I knew that wrapped in Ti Leaves in the box and kept in the cooler they would be just fine. On Thursday morning the woman from Walker florist called to ask when I needed to have the Leis by. (and now looking back on it, it seems strange since I had elected to have them shipped directly to me via Fed Ex so she wouldnt have known they werent shipped) and I said I NEEDED them to me TODAY as I was leaving TOMORROW to go to Salem. She said that they hadnt been shipped from Hawai'i. I said that is NOT good!! She said she knows and doesnt know WHY they werent shipped. I said I NEED them for my daughters graduation. We went around and around. And she said ok.. she had a solution. She said I could come pick them up the next day ... Friday... at their shop in downtown Portland .. she would make SURE they would be there. And I asked 'but what if they are not" She then said she would drive them down to Salem to me so I could have them by Saturday for the graduation. So .. I agreed. Despite the fact that in the midst of EVERYTHING else I had to do to get ready for the graduation - I now had to factor in going and picking the Leis up before driving to Salem which was the reason I had them scheduled to arrive via Fed Ex to my house on thursday to begin with. So... Friday we went to Walker Florist. We got there and the woman said 'I have your Leis right here. And she then says "I opened the box to check everything'. and I thought that was strange. Why would she open MY box of leis? But ok. The first thing I noticed was that there were NO Ti leaves in the box... only newspaper. And then I saw the Leis. They were HORRIBLE. We had ordered 2 of the Maile style Ti Leaf lei - they were good. We also ordered 2 of the white dendrobium. They were good. But the mixed white and violet ones were HORRIBLE. The white flowers were starting to brown up (as they do when they have been handled too much) they were wilted and were really awful. We also ordered a single Magenta Lei. THAT one was about 2 inches shorter than the other three lei!! The woman even said 'those dont look right. They arent their usual quality. And I agreed. She then offered to replace them with other Leis that they had 'in the back' and I said 'ok... but Im not going to pay more for them' and she said 'well they would be $9.99 more each' and I said "NO. I paid over $200 for these lei's and I already had to come pick these up. These were supposed to be delivered to me yesterday at my house and this has been a nightmare of worry all the way around. Im NOT paying more to get what I paid for .. which was good quality leis for the graduation'. She said 'ok let me go talk to Dennis. A man then came out.. and with a surly attitude said 'whats the problem with these? huh?' and he started poking at the leis. And I said "look at them. They are TERRIBLE. I have gotten Leis from you before and they were GOOD. These are NOT good". I also showed him how the magenta lei was about 2 inches shorter than the other lei's - he tried to give me some story about how its the number of flowers not the length of the lei. Then the woman also chimed in and showed him how they were NOT good. He said 'well they look fine to me" and then the woman asked if they could replace them with some beautiful purple Leis that they had in plastic boxes (which looked more like the Leis that had come in our box before for my sons graduation) and the man said 'no they would have to pay extra for those' and I said "No.. Im not paying extra for anything" . So then the man finally went and leaned on the cash register and told the woman to 'do whatever". She replaced the two mixed leis, and as I was thanking her the man said something like "I was up all night making leis". And then I noticed the shipping page on my box - which said June 12th (thursday) and I realised what had happened. On their website they sell groups of 10 leis that are shorter but are a good deal ($155 for 10 instead of $55.50 for 2) - Dennis had replaced my magenta with one of the cheaper shorter leis and then pieced together two 'mixed colour' leis out of the cheaper leis for MY box and then boxed up my beautiful expensive leis to sell for more money to someone else individually. I did find a credit of $25.50 on my bank statement today - but that doesnt nearly make up for what I went through and bad business practices. I will NEVER use them again. read more

After having a horrible experience with From You Flowers not delivering my "new baby bouquet" I called Clarence Walker since they were the shop open on a Saturday near the Kaiser Sunnyside. The guy who answered the phone was incredibly helpful and sympathetic and told me that my flowers would get to my intended destination that day. (Just to note: I did have to call the Kaiser Sunnyside Labor Unit and ask them to look at the flower dropoff area in order for the flowers to actually get to where they need to be -- so just be aware that you need to do that when delivering there). We recently celebrated our 60th anniversary. When I went to the venue the week before for a final check, (a private clubhouse) I happened to notice a beautiful large all white bouquet, with our name on it! There was a card attached. The following Monday I called the florist, Clarence Walker & the person I spoke to was annoyed that the bouquet was gone when they had come to pick it up, after someone realized it was delivered a week too early.. I told her that since it was addressed to us,I assumed it was ours to take home. She told me they would come to my home & pick it up. The next day someone called again & asked me to leave the arrangement in vase on my front porch so they could come get it on the following day. The temperature was 100o, & the flowers were several days old by this time. On the day of the event, there was another bouquet, same vase, but completely different flowers. Both bouquets were lovely, but we thought the second was probably less expensive. Since the event was held quite a distance from the floral shop, we wondered about the expense of making 4 round trips? Also they could have let me keep the first bouquet since it was beginning to die anyway. I placed an online order with this florist on Saturday, 2/25. I requested same-day delivery and received a confirmation of my order. Today is Wednesday, 2/29, and my order still has yet to be delivered! I received no notice on Saturday that my order wouldn't be filled that day. On Sunday, again nothing. On Monday, I called them and they supposedly contacted the local florist (order was going to Phoenix) who indicated the delivery would be made that day. Later in the day, though, I received an email stating that the florist didn't have the flowers I'd ordered in stock (orange orchids, which was the only reason I'd used this florist in the first place), so I offered guidance on a substitution and was assured the order would be delivered Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and despite ~ 10 emails to Clarence Walker for Flowers, I've heard nothing. At this point, I'm out ~ $90 with no sign of my order being filled. read more

Upon discussion was informed that actual flower selection would not be available until Tuesday. I mulled about this and called back and canceled my order. Received notice from 'canceled' recipient that flowers were delivered on Tuesday! C.Walker rep (David) said they could retrieve flowers when I contacted them. Nice! Now, all would have been forgiven if the delivered flowers matched the actual order...they did NOT! So - $109-ish for the canceled flowers plus $45 for the gift shop flowers I purchased and delivered directly when I canceled. Unfortunately, I will be removing this contact from my list. (In 2008 they were added to my list because of some exquisite flowers they delivered to my mom.) I would NOT recommend this florist based on this experience. Outstanding service and great communication. Ordered a plant on a Friday afternoon for a memorial service the next morning which was a Saturday. The plant arrived 2 hours before the service at the appropriate location. The intended receiver raved about the quality of the plant. Communications via email were timely and reliable - received an order confirmation immediately after my phone call, another confirmation of the date and time the delivery arrived at the church, and finally a copy of the paid invoice on Monday morning after the delivery. I would never order from this Florist again personally. I picked out a flower basket online that I wanted to get for my mother and they did not send what I chose. They ran out of half the flowers in the basket and decided to choose another plant of their choice. Never contacted me to let me know that they didn't have the flower basket that I chose off their website. When I called to complain about this, the man who was running the store said okay I will go to their house and take out half of the flowers and replant it with the one you wanted..okay?! What?!! That is the worse customer service ever. Not only did they falsely advertise what flowers they had available, but their way to resolve the issue was to tell me they would go and retrieve my gift and replant the 1/2 the flower basket and take back the flower that they put in the basket.
