Well, I forgot it's Memorial Day weekend and the first florist was out of flowers, the second was closed until Tuesday. So I called Hampton Flower Shop. I'd never used them before and that was my mistake. They are terrific. Their customer service was great from the moment I called. They were extremely helpful to someone who said, 'I need something bright to cheer someone up! Oh, and add a balloon.' I got a call later this evening from my best friend and he said when he got to the hospital to visit his mom she smiled at him with tears in her eyes and said, 'look at what your friends sent to me.' He said she kept asking him to bring them over for her to smell. My friend thought the flower arrangement was so pretty that he asked for the name of the shop.

I stopped in yesterday for a dozen roses to celebrate that august moment of committed happiness, and walked out with gorgeous large soft pinks in a clear wrap cone that left a wonderful aroma of rose in my car. In the interim, I was allowed to wander through their shop, including workroom and refrigerated display walk-in, to witness their creativity and large work orders being prepared for major events. I was able to chat with the owners, all part of one extended family, and play a little "Who Do You Know" with them. Turned out, quite a few folks. Not only was I very happy with the overall consumer experience at Newtown Floral, but the object of my affection was delighted with the surprise gift and paid me dividends on my small investment. I didn't want my brother to die so near Christmas either and all I needed was a little human kindness and they were so nasty and rude.
