Places like this make you despise places like Starbucks. My wife and I stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon. The owners are normal people - thankfully. It's nice to see actual humans and not these moronic self-important baristas. I ordered a simple bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. This had every right to be average. It was excellent. Worth every cent. You can't make it better than this. Had this fresh apple pie. It was excellent too. Interior is awesome. Food rules. Owners rule. Easy 5 stars. Maybe they were having an off day? Or I ordered the wrong thing? Asked for a latte and didn't notice until the last minute that they were using a small automatic coffee maker. It was a coffee with steamed milk on top and it was so bitter I couldn't drink it. Muffin was okay wasn't great. We enter this awesomely decorated bakery more mom and pop shop , find out that the owners were from bergen county nj . They have a small menu with lunch and breakfast items only . They had a small variety of sweets that were all made from scratch . I had the carrot cake which was excellent but a little dry for my taste and the frosting was excellent. I bought the chesse cake by style which was excellent . Going to have to stop in when in this area to try out other goodies . Don't expect a large variety or big menu more small and sweet . I wouldn't say I'm a regular per se, but I love Floyd and Bobo's, the bagels are to DIE for. I typically come in on days I do my laundry at the laundromat, and I visited pretty frequently last summer. It's always been a pleasant and delicious experience. Today, I came in with my dad for the first time this summer and decided to call my friend, as I had missed a call from her earlier in the day, and we hadn't spoken since the end of the semester. One of the owners, Louie, apparently really hates it when people talk on the phone, or he was just having a really bad day, and he FLIPPED out and had a very emotional response to my facetime catch up with my friend. It was crazy. He essentially told me I was being super disrespectful by talking on the phone, commented on the conversation I was having with my friend, and continued to tell me (yelling still) a bit about his life up until the opening of Floyd and Bobos. That part was actually interesting, I'd like to hear more about it. Maybe someday. From a few other reviews I've read, it seems as though Louie is very technology averse. So I'd recommend not talking on the phone, or using your laptop in there. Anyway, Louie told me a few times in his rant to go on yelp and "leave a bad review". I've never written a yelp review, but I decided to take him up on that. Except I didn't want to write a bad one, because I still love this place. Off the beaten path - 5 stars! Ok. I know. 5 stars for a small place that does breakfast sandwiches and lunch. I get that that's a little odd. But the food is terrific and way beyond expectations. While I decided to try this place because of the great reviews on yelp, I've passed by and can't believe I did not try it sooner. It's right off Route 17 in Liberty, NY. This place beats Roscoe Diner by a mile, on many levels, mostly ambiance and quality though. Outside they have a seating area which they have marked off with terrific flowers and other decorations. It's really terrific to see in a town lacking in color and frankly effort on most store owners parts. You can see this place from blocks away because of the explosion of color from the flowers and various other small decorations that surround the small outside seating area. Inside are perhaps 6 tables. You go to the counter to order food. The breakfast menu is on the wall, breakfast sandwiches mostly (egg and cheese etc.), bagels are there for the picking etc. Lunch is on a piece of paper on the counter, I believe it changes daily. I'm guessing largely based on what was available fresh at the store or market. I've seen chicken salad, greens salad, various sandwiches etc. Each order is prepared at that time, so, you may wait a moment if you walk in behind someone else. I don't know if the owners are Floyd and Bobo, or if those are the owners cats, dogs, parakeets etc. I have not gotten to know. But it does seem to be owned by a couple, who work and do the cooking and baking. I have really only had "food" here, desert only once, although they do a brisk business dessert wise, and those cookies do look darn good. I have had their salad, one was a chicken salad which I'd like to try to replicate. So good. I was really surprised when I opened it (I did takeout that time). It had currents, walnuts, carrots, chicken in some sort of dressing, salad (not iceberg, but real romaine). Anyway, its called the F&B salad, and I love it. I've been back for it. I had a breakfast sandwich there another time, also really good. The bacon tastes local and you can tell its really good. Once I picked up cupcakes there, red velvet that day, and they were good. But I go back for the food, not the desserts. The prices are stunningly low. I'm sure they want to be affordable to all the area residents, and its a poorer county. But they serve good, healthy, real food at low prices in a really nice environment. Cant be beat. Stars 4 and 5 are for the quality of the food and the ambiance they are creating in this depressed town in Southern NYS. Nice to review such a nice local small town spot. read more

Today's soup lentil was so homey and nuanced, sad to see the bottom of the bowl... Salad with balsamic chicken fresh and dressed beautifully with house dressing. This place is bound to make you smile! It's a super quirky, tiny, cash only mom & pop joint with small town feels. They have a plethora of tantalizing baked goods, awesome coffee, simple, classic breakfast and lunch offerings at a steal, old school games on each table, friendly service, cool sculptures next to the seats outside, and my favorite part, the vintage photos of celebrities, mostly rock stars that grace the walls. Bagel sammies, made to order omelets, and uber packed chocolate chip pancakes are what the crew had and loved. The eggs came with buttered toast of choice, while the bagels came with house cut chips. Super tasty. Large portions. Low prices. Ready quickly. Everyone was very happy. Dr. Browns and some delicious house blend coffee too. Kiddos enjoyed the games on the tables, while I couldn't get enough of proudly identifying my favorites who were framed... Jimi, Mick, Bobby D, Mama Cass...all my old buddies. I've seen my share of rock photos, and some of these were new to me. Such gems! They were fantastic! The owners, Ellen and her husband waited on us and filled the coffee which I tapped out promptly. They were kind and offered friendly conversation. You can tell how much they care about their patrons who we noticed include many "regulars". I think that speaks volumes about a business. I also love that Ellen honored her mom who recently passed away by placing her photos in between the other legends on the walls. So sweet. I wouldn't hesitate to drop by again when we're in the area, and would recommend you do too! I recently stopped in to grab some pastries and assorted goodies for a mini birthday celebration. It was later in the day (well, late morning-ish)...so many of the cupcakes were sold out. I bought whatever cupcakes remained:. 5 red velvet...and then I just kept pointing to stuff...one delightful treat after another. What a sampling!! Crumb cake, chocolate brownies, carrot cake, lemon-ricotta cookies...omg. This place knows how to bake!! The quality reminds me of the European-style NYC bakeries from my childhood. But, this place is better. There are a few tables available - indoors and outside (weather permitting), and there is an awesome menu of snacks, breakfast and lunch items. The owners were super friendly...I would have chilled out there and chewed the fat with them if I had more time. The bakery business is not easy. After a rough, sleepless night at a nearby campground, we were looking for somewhere...anywhere!...to eat and enjoy a cup of coffee so early in the morning. Drove through the area, and nothing was open yet. Floyd and Bobo's "open" sign saved the day! It's a tiny little bakery/cafe with limited indoor and outdoor seating, and a cool, kitschy interior. The service is very friendly. You can order a breakfast sandwich or omelette from the menu board posted on the wall, or choose from a modest selection of delicious baked goods. Why did they open a place in Liberty? A story. Ask him to show you the Floyd and Bobo art. You'll love the decor which, like the owners, is hippie-creative. Every wall is laden with pictures and objects and most of it has a story. I had a panini which was fresh and cheesy, with quality ham. Bread is made fresh using what they learned from someone who used to bake at Katz's (which was a famous bakery in Liberty -- ask and you'll get that story.) Stunning array of products, given that Lou and Ellen do it all. Pastries, cakes, breads (which they use for sandwiches but sadly, do not sell). Lou and Ellen are hard working folks with tons of heart. They get lots of locals in and out all day. They are eager to contribute to community. The only slight disappointment was the bread pudding. Made from cinnamon roll croissants and danishes but more bread than pudding, I'd have liked it a lot wetter; but that's an individual preference. The coffee was stellar, by the way. Was excited since the place had such good reviews, but unfortunately it was not good. We ordered an egg sandwich, bagel with butter, crumble cake and strawberry cheese danish. The egg sandwich was really bad with shredded cheese melted on it vs a normal slide of cheese (why?). The bagel with butter was basic and ok, bagel was oddly thin though. The strawberry cheese danish was not good at all, to the point that I had to throw it away. And I never throw away sweets!! The crumble cake we did really like, which was promising! I'm giving it 3 stars bc I think maybe their sweet bakery items might be ok and I'd like to try more. I also like the outdoor seating area a lot. We just purchased a house in the area, so will return and try more one day. read more

My boyfriend was working in Liberty and the kids and I were wandering around the town looking for a neat place to hang out for a little while. Viewing it from the street, we already knew it was our kind of place. Ellen and Louie were very hospitable and the food was very good. We went there 3 times during our short trip. After talking to them for a few minutes, you could tell they really cared about the community they serve, and that's the kind of place I always want to spend my money! We were driving home from Binghamton NY to Long Island and we're looking for an off the beaten path place for lunch along Route 17. Once again, Yelp pointed us in the direction of a charming and delicious cafe/bakery in Liberty, NY. Small, great photos of movie and rock stars adorned the walls. Serving breakfast and also the lunch menu which was small but varied... We had the chicken soup, chock full of meat and veggies in a perfect broth that was not too salty, which is more than often the case. I hate too much salt in my food. Lee had a heart bowl of Lentil soup, each was a mere 3.95. We both had the BB salad... Romaine tossed w walnuts, grilled chic, cranberries, carrots in a very delicious and different dressing...just the right size and 7 bucks. While we were there, a local metal sculpted was there with friends ready to put the finishing paint touches on some of his fantastic creations... Shout out to Zacmax.com !!! Tiny, personal, fantastic. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating, hipsters and gourmands. They make an eclectic assortment of pastries and savories, which varies from day to day, but never disappoints. My husband stops here for breakfast religiously, and always torments me upon returning home with tales of what delicious thing he ate that morning. If you need something catered, ask them, they'll make anything and do it perfectly. Lasagna, soup, quiche, breakfast sandwiches to die for, I even got to eat a delicious popover one fortunate morning. Their homemade doughnuts are the stuff of legends among my friends. Oh man - I can't believe I never knew about Floyd & Bobo's before discovering it a couple days ago on Yelp. It's really worth the trip. GO. After sampling their phenomenal cookies, pastries, and lunch specials I'm definitely a new fan. Louis and Ellen are super-friendly and just love to chat with their newest customers about great food, great music, and great art. We really felt at home here. F & B's is simply one of the coolest, most bohemian and funky restaur-bakeries I have ever seen. I wish more restaurants were this much fun. We had the chicken salad wrap with bacon, one of the best wraps I have had. The Italian butter cookies with either raspberry or apricot filling rival the famous bakeries in NYC. I'm still reeling from the incredibly delicious chocolate croissant, and the Linzer raspberry cookies which are the best I've ever tasted. I have to go back. Where do I even begin. Ellen was a dream to work with, and the desserts were devoured by our wedding guests. I contacted Ellen only a couple of weeks before our wedding in Eldred, NY and she came through. We had an assortment of desserts for our wedding and a red velvet cake for the cake cutting. Everything was delicious. Most importantly, Ellen was a pleasure to communicate with. I recommend this bakery a thousand times over; I would give them 10 stars if I could. I have been visiting the Catskills for a while now. We have always had to leave Liberty and head to Livingston Manor or somewhere else for a nice breakfast. This visit I was happy to discover Floyd & BoBo's in Liberty. Floyd & BoBo's is an intimate cafe that is perfect for a small town. While we were there we ran into the lady that wrote Dirty Dancing. I enjoyed my bagel while listening to stories about her life at Grossinger's. I felt like I was in an episode of Andy Griffith. Everyone in the bakery seemed to know one another and greet each other with a certain familiarity. My sesame bagel that was toasted with butter tasted as though it was made fresh. Looking for Wi FI in Liberty, we stumbled upon Floyd and BoBo's, and are glad we did. This is urban homesteading at it's best, blending long term residents with new arrivals within a frame of good food, good prices and grace. Liberty isn't a yuppified town, lot's of visible proof of the last recession/depression, many empty storefronts. And then there is Floyd and Bobo's, a beacon of hope. Not bad little diner, but was literally all we could find for breakfast (that took visa) around. The lady who took our order (pretty sure she owned the place) was kind of cold when we came in, but she started to warm up as people started filing in. Maybe she just woke up. The croissant rolls for our sandwiches where really good, but the fillings in the breakfast sandwiches was kind of miserly. Pancakes were average at best. I had a glazed doughnut because they looked really good, but it was actually pretty disappointing with a weird beefy flavor. We picked up some peanut butter bars and a carrot cake for a snack later and they are good, but not awesome. The coffee was really good. Funny note - if you are a "summer person from new york city", be prepared for some local making comments about you. It sounded like the owner lady wasn't too pleased about the comments either but was kind of aggravating none the less.
