There were lots of local goods, like beers, wines, and maple syrups, and then some fineries like the Momofuku sauce line, luxury bath goods, and Anthropologie clothes. For a small shop, the menu was also unexpectedly robust. Along with your usual lineup of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps, there were a few unusual ones that piqued our interest. The whole hot dog menu, for instance, makes for a fun and curious read. Want to try the Canadog? It comes with maple syrup, peanut butter, and bacon. Or how about the L.A. Japadog, with teriyaki sauce, nori, and mayo? We weren't brave enough to try, but I'm left haunted by what could have been. Our own sandwich choices were fantastic. Everything is made to order, so it took a few minutes, but we certainly weren't short of things to see while waiting. There are two small two-seating tables in the shop, and we were lucky enough to snag the table with the giant bevy of hot sauces (see picture). The people behind the counter are kind, friendly, and warm. There was a steady stream of customers during our visit, and it seemed like many of them were neighborhood folks coming in for their breakfast and snacks to go. All the interactions we overheard gave off small-town, Gilmore Girls vibes, and we were glad to be part of it for a short while.
