Small little cafe with homemade cookies and biscuits. Cookies were outstanding. The breakfast dishes and biscuits were good. Order at the counter and seat yourself at one of 3 small tables or short counter space.

Early Bird and cup of soup
    Jay T.

The place was a little busy when we arrived just before noon, so we had to wait several minutes before someone took our order. We got an Early Bird sandwich to split, and two cups of the soup of the day. The soup was a deliciously creamy kale and sausage which would have been even better if they had served it hot instead of lukewarm. It was still pretty amazing, though. The Early Bird is a fried egg with avocado and greens and all, served on toasted sourdough. It's fantastic! Lunch for the two of us was $25 including tax and a good tip- they share tips among the staff, so as a former cook and dishwasher, I like to bump it up a bit. TL;DR- a win. 9/10

Stumbled upon this gem while camping at Mongaup Pond, and it's easy to see why it's so popular--the line and the lively vibe outside say it all. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with a cozy, NYC-like atmosphere that feels right at home in this small space. I went all in with the turkey BLT sandwich (too hungry I forgot to take a picture) and snagged every single pastry they had on the counter. The pastries were chef's kiss--fresh, just the right amount of sweetness, and seriously addictive. The turkey BLT? Sure, it's shrunk a bit since those old review pics, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavor. So tasty, so worth it. This place is officially on our "must return" list for our next Mongaup Pond adventure. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by!

Biscuit was super delicious. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Extra thumbs up for allowing dogs in their dining area. Latte was life saving.

The food is so comforting and warm. The service is definitely with a smile and such a warm and open area. You can smell the baking in the back. They have fresh bread and baked goods. Soup of the day for 5$ hot apple cider for 3$ and a brisket onion Sandi for 15$ it's beautiful!!!!!! We live 30 minutes away and will be back more. Also she knew the time the drip coffee was made!!! What!!! The Americano was delicious but soooooo hot lol. Fresh right?! Check out Jitterbug across the street they have an amazing game and record collection!! Did you know they make square vinyl records!!!! I didn't but they have them.

Great lunch spot in the Manor. I tried the turkey BLT, chicky salad sandwich and biscuit with jam and butter. Turkey BLT was definitely the winner; would definitely get that again. Believe they serve Variety coffee as well.

Livingston Manor just got a major upgrade. We might have lost our German bakery, but the brand new biscuit counter - The Walk In - is absolutely spectacular. The whole experience here, from the second you spot the c. 1950s sign on the brick building, is all about the customer. Ample outdoor seating and plush leather chairs inside provide plenty of space for the large crowds already forming here every day they're open. There's great coffee (hot and iced) and plenty of other morning options like juice and tea. But for me, it's all about the biscuits. I am a southern mountain boy, after all... Flaky and full of flavor, baked across the street at their yet-to-open Neon Croissant, these biscuits are worth traveling for. I always rely on the perfect Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. It's truly the best I've ever had. And at $8 it's a perfect full breakfast plate in sandwich form. The rotating special biscuits are always amazing too (check their Instagram each weekend for the newest in fashion). Latest hits: Braised Short-ribs, Ramp Relish, and Mustard Sauce. And then there's the Berries and Cream...my heavens! Don't miss a weekend at The Walk In. You'll regret it all week.

"Grilled cheese" biscuit of the week
    E P.

I got the biscuit of the week, which was a "grilled cheese," although it turned out not to be a grilled cheese at all in the traditional sense. But it was a very delicious biscuit with three kinds of cheeses, caramelized onions and a chili oil. It was fantastic. My other friends also got some terrific biscuits. The staff was very friendly. However, one of my friends had to go into the restaurant because apparently they just left his sandwich sitting on the counter and it got cold and the bacon had gotten chewy. That's the one thing I didn't like about this place. otherwise I would return in a heartbeat.

Got severe food poisoning here. Advised server there was something wrong with meal / food freshness but it wasn't taken seriously.

I pass through Monticello a few times a year and Monticello Bagel has turned into my little road…read moretrip ritual. I pull off, stretch my legs, and you can smell the toasters working the second you open the door. Last time it was a rainy morning and the whole place had that warm bakery air. I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and a coffee. The bagel came out still warm in a brown paper bag. Good crust, proper chew, not bready. Seeds actually stick instead of shedding all over the car. Small thing, but it matters. The line can look long from the door, but it moves. I was back in my car in maybe ten minutes. Parking is straightforward. If I am trying to make time, the drive through is there and does what it should. The staff is focused and quick. Not chatty in a forced way. Just normal, which I appreciate before caffeine. This is not a fancy place and it does not try to be. No rainbow bagels, no dessert disguised as breakfast. It is a simple bagel shop that knows its lane. Price felt fair. Coffee was hot and not burnt. Cream cheese ratio was right. I am picky about that. Do I wish the menu had a little more going on. Yeah. A couple extra spreads, maybe a rotating special. If you want wild flavors, this is not that stop. But the classics are done properly, and that is why I keep coming back. If you are passing through town and need a quick breakfast that will not let you down, this is an easy yes. Park, grab a bag, get back on the road. Simple, reliable, and it hits the spot..

Old school shop. Bagels were fresh and good. Pleasant service. Popular spot. They sell out quicklyread more
