I had an amazing cut done by Won at the Smoky Hill location. I wanted a mid-fade normal cut, size 1 for the sides and a quarter inch off the top. She did an amazing job and had a very nice vibe. The tools she used were very smooth, looked expensive, and got the job done very well. I have super thick hair so I am accustomed to semi-painful haircuts. With Won, no tugs, nor pinches, nada. Five stars for Ashley--zero for management. I absolutely love my stylist, Ashley, and feel so lucky to have found her. She's the reason I come to Floyd's at Smoky Hill every week for a shampoo and style. Her talent, consistency, and kindness are unmatched. That said, the last few visits have been uncomfortable--literally. The salon has been extremely hot. I was told the thermostat isn't allowed to go below 78 degrees, which seems unrealistic given all the blow dryers, lights, and summer heat. It's not just uncomfortable for clients--it's exhausting for the stylists who are on their feet all day. Today was particularly upsetting. While I was in the chair, the stylist next to Ashley started having a panic attack. Ashley (rightfully) went to check on her, but what shocked me was the response from the manager, Ronnie. When Ashley asked how her coworker was doing, Ronnie sighed loudly and rolled her eyes--completely dismissive. I suggested maybe bringing a cold towel or a fan, and Ronnie replied, "That's what I'm doing," before walking off. I never saw her again. Meanwhile, that stylist was left outside in the back, in full distress, and Ronnie apparently just went to sit in her office for the rest of the time I was there. Thankfully, Ashley's next client happened to be a nurse and he went outside to check on her. Ronnie didn't call for help, didn't check on her again, didn't ask for support from other staff--nothing. As a former stylist myself, I was horrified. When someone is having a potential medical emergency--especially in your own salon--your team's well-being should be top priority. I'm so grateful it wasn't something more serious, but the lack of care or urgency from management was unacceptable. Ashley continues to be the reason I come back, but if Floyd's wants to maintain a safe and supportive environment for both staff and clients, they seriously need to re-evaluate who they trust in leadership roles. read more

No need to go to this shop. First I made an appt today, 10/29/25, using their online booking. When I arrived I was told that they couldn't find the reservation. But I was told to wait and a person would be with me. I waited for 15 minutes. There were no other customers waiting. 2 stylists finished their clients as I was waiting. The appt was for whoever was available. The receptionist came back from lunch and very rudely said there was nobody available at any time and basically told me to leave. Went to a new location as the stylist who cut his hair had moved from the usual location we go to. Decided to try someone else and this location seemed to have more choices. Went with a headliner because I wanted to get him the best and they're supposed to be better than the rest - hence the more expensive price. We checked in and waited for him to be called. She got him and after a discussion about the style he wanted, she cut his hair. She also shaved the hair on his neck which was nice. She chatted with him some which was appreciated since it helps my son relax. He's a little shy at first with people. The cut was ok. It was a little choppy and not tapered like in the photo he showed her. I am not sure if we will select her as his stylist again. But it was ok. read more

Always a good haircut, but the place has the rudest receptionist, and it feels as though it's an inconvenience to go get your haircut when the stylists just stare at you. It's frustrating to make an appointment and arrive and be told it may be awhile and looked at like you are an inconvenience for wanting a service they provide. I had a very bad experience here a year ago but decided to give them another shot due to the location from my home. It was not only even worse than the last time, it was negligent in so many ways. Audra didn't talk to me the entire time, acted like she was even upset with me. The most heavy handed haircut I've ever had. Not even on the sides. I was bleeding from about 5 spots in the back of my head. Then she follows me to the checkout and watches me fill out the tip so I can't stiff her. I do not want any free services as I'll never go back to a Floyd's after this. And neither will anyone I talk to in the military. I work with about a thousand military members that need haircuts every two weeks. And to answer your reply, I'm not sure if you read above, or talked to the GM after our conversation or not. But I'll never come back to any floyds, let alone this location. You're a joke. I can get shitty haircuts for far less money. I'll bick it myself before coming back there. And no amount of free "haircuts" will change that. And everyone I ever talk to about haircuts, will hear this story. I didn't give you a chance to fix anything. This location has really gone downhill over the last few months. The changes that have been made have resulted in many great stylists leaving and truly has impacted their quality of service. I had an appointment for Sunday 4/15 at 1030 am and when I got there the receptionist was rude and on top of that let me know that my stylist did not make it in (probably quit) and that they could get me in at 445 pm. I got no call, text, or even an apology with a somewhat decent attempt to get me rescheduled. I will never go back. read more

Whoop! Went to visit family in CO and decided to indulge in an emergency hair cut. I was directed to Floyd's and couldn't be happier. Sommer took care of me and I had a really good visit, hair got chopped as requested, the hot towel treatment was perfect and you can't not love a straight razor shave. Sommer, don't change a thing. The music was a wee bit too loud but that's because I'm too old. Decor is nice, atmosphere is right on, it's got that cool, manly, modern barbershop feel too it. The experience was perfect. I hesitate to write a glowing review of my new favorite hair stylist here but she's done such a great job on both mine and my wife's haircut that I feel obligated to do so. Kendra ROCKS! Every time we go in for haircuts, she asks us what we want. There are no assumptions on her part. We weren't very articulate about our cuts initially; so she did her best to ferret out what we wanted as best she could - and she got it almost exactly right. (You can't expect a hair stylist to read your mind!) After that initial visit, we got better at explaining what did and didn't matter to us and she immediately tweaked what was already a great haircut! Floyd's sells hair products like most other barbers and salons - but she has never been pushy about selling them. If you ask for advice or suggestions, she's happy to share her knowledge but nothing feels forced or expected. We drove 45 minutes to get to this shop but the drive is well worth it. And, when we expressed some frustration at being unable to book an appointment online 4-5 weeks out, Kendra walked me over to the manager who explained the limitations of their online software - and then suggested an easy work-around! Love Kendra! Love the manager's attitude about customer service! And, really love that they are dead serious about cleanliness, social distancing, and masking up during this pain-in-the-ass pandemic! We'll keep coming back here for our haircuts and sending our friends and colleagues, too. They are batting 100% as far as we're concerned! read more

We've been going to this location for years. After Crystal S left we have really struggled to find someone new (Latoya is amazing) man... after today we will not be back. Charles did my son dirty and on top of it he is extremely rude and not personable. When he asked what my son wanted I asked a question about the length and how his hair would grow out. In the most condescending way possible he told me "well this is where the parent steps in" ..... sir I am a nurse not a barber.... So this would have been a good time for a barber. My son said just give me a two on the side and trim the top a little. My kid straight came out of that shop looking like Sheldon from Big Bang theory. Don't let Charles cut your hair unless you don't have to come out of the house for awhile. I know Floydes doesn't care but that was the last straw. Love Floyd's and will always be a customer for my son but this location is the WORST! I was 5 mins late one time and they threw a fit "well let me SEE if she still has time". My son is 5, it takes 10 mins tops. After 5 mins of debating, they finally took him. Save the drama. Nikki cannot cut little boys hair! I was impressed with his attention to detail and how he sculpted my hair just the way I like it. I will definitely return to have him cut my hair again. The vibe inside the establishment is good too. How much a company cares about their customers is summed up in how they respond to unpleasant experiences brought to their attention. Original Not really sure why I keep giving Floyd's 99 another chance? This is now the third time I've gone to a Floyd's (second different location) and have experienced crappy service from the staff. They masterfully quote you short wait times (15-20 min) fully knowing there is no way in hell you're going to be seen anywhere near that time. I have sat for 35 min and watched multiple people get seated who came in after me. When asked what the status was, I was told that there were still 2 more ahead of me with three stylists working and that those who went before me had made a reservation! Okay, no problem....but wait, didn't you have an idea that they made a reservation BEFORE you told me 15-20 min? Of course you did! And it wouldn't be a real-life Floyd's 99 front desk experience if the entire interaction didn't include a healthy portion of attitude to go with it. read more

I created an account just so I could give this review and I am not one to complain about things but this place is a sham. The employee spent no more than 10 minutes on my cut. It was lazily done, It was uneven, not blended well, choppy, and I looked like an absolute dope, like some kind of bowl cut buffoon. I'm not joking when I say that I have cut my own hair better. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism and no sense of pride in a job well done. When I saw what she had done at the end I did not even bother to say anything because I was so shocked and embarrassed for her that I didn't say anything because I would not trust her to try and fix it. Terrible customer service! I came in as a walk in a few weeks ago. They say they can take care of me, but there is someone with an upcoming appointment coming in and I will have to wait for them to show up and get taken care of first. That's fair. So DISAPPOINTING in the way I was treated today. Had an appointment. Walked in a little late. Walked in at the exact same time as someone hoping to get a walk in cut. As I was standing next to this person who I politely let in before me the receptionist says "I just had the 1:00 cancel". I spoke up and said "hi. I'm right here." And she said well your late and went ahead and gave him my spot. Rather then get mad I just waited for her to acknowledge me again (took a minute) and asked if I was still entitled to get a haircut. She just stared at me and finally said I could go ahead and make another appointment. So I did. Not sure why. Sat down and waited a while to get my haircut. 1- being a few minutes late is not cancelling an appointment. 2 - was it the way I looked? Talked? Dressed? 3 - sadly the only way to get someone's attention these days is withholding tip. But I didn't have the heart as the person that eventually cut my hair was pretty nice and didn't deserve to be punished for the receptionist that could use a little more training and people skills. 4 - seriously just telling me I'll see what I can do, have a seat and I'll get you in with someone as quick as I can would have sufficed. Better than giving me a lecture and making me make another appointment for later in the day. 5 - I get it. One haircut a month probably doesn't hit their bottom mile hard enough for them to care but keep treating people that way and it will add up. 6 - how often do you actually get seated at the exact time of your appointment, with that being said the punishment certainly didn't fit the crime. 7 - if you've actually read this far and the suspense is killing you about my hair cut........it was ok.
