My story: Since July 2025 I've been battling liver failure, multiple sclerosis, and seizures, and have been in the hospital with both issues. I just wanted to feel pretty....after losing my career due to my health and more. The history: I've been a loyal client of this salon for two years without any issues. However, my recent interaction with this business has been more than disappointing. While my salonist Elona is a great person and very professional, the manager is the complete opposite--rude, judgmental, and hostile. The Problem: Poor color uptake I was ALREADY scheduled for February 27th for a redo of my full color hair treatment, which first only lasted three weeks, compared to the seven months it lasted before. But then get called day of they had to reschedule me because Elona got sick and the soonest they had was Sunday, her day off normally, but she was seeing other people as well. I was told she would not be able to dry my hair, which was fine. Day of appointment: Sunday March 1st Unfortunately, my car's CV axle broke, and I was stuck on E470 and was unable to make it, and she didn't have any other time that day. Today: I called today to make an appointment since I own two vehicles, but this time the manager picked up the phone and immediately I was told no. Completely unapologetic and didn't understand my situation. I explained that I had been through a lot and being sick, and that my liver and brain problems had made my hair look unhealthy, and paying $ 150 for my hair to look healthy for three weeks was not fair or right. I was willing to pay half the price, but all she said in a mocking tone was, "I'm sorry." It's disheartening to be treated so poorly as a two-year client. What really pisses me off was her saying it's the next month...what difference did 1st and 2nd make? You break policy 1 day and then go back to it 24 hours later? Conclusion: If you're considering getting your hair colored and then experiencing a personal tragedy, such as becoming terminally ill or losing a child or spouse, be warned that this manager won't care, in fact, will be inconsistent on following their own policy. read more

It was slightly better, but still not what I wanted. I called for a refund, but they asked me to give them one more chance. I'm so glad I did, because the hair I have now is my absolute favorite. My first experience with Heads Up Salon in one word was unpleasant. I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time for hairdresser Andrea who spoke very few words to me and had the personality of a robot. She appeared totally bored with what my request were for styling and had no interest in the outcome. Too bad as the hair cut wasn't too bad but I will only spend my money where people appear to appreciate the business and not where I feel totally disrespected as a customer. Ok this location used to be great, but now it feels extremely negative & the workers there are rude. The ladies there thought that I boxed dyed my hair & then trimmed my hair when I didn't want it trimmed... then they dyed my hair much much darker than I wanted. So I've been sitting on this for about a week and a half now because I truly have not found the words to express my feelings about how my haircut went. I have had to get validation from my fiancé and family just to make my feelings of how this appointment went, justifiable. To start off, I called to schedule an appointment for a haircut. I made it for 3:30 last Friday and when I was asked "what level" I said I don't know and that was the end of the discussion. I was scheduled to get a haircut and style with Josie. During my lunch break I received a missed call. The voicemail left was asking for me to come in at 3 because there had been a change to the schedule. I thought, I guess I could make that work (I work in the medical field) so I know how it is. I got off of work at 2:55 so I called them to let them know I won't be there right at 3, and to see if I needed to reschedule. I was immediately put on hold which I was fine with but also I was panicking. The salon was right down the street so I got there around 3:07, still on hold. I hung up and walked through the door. I sat down for less than a minute when a different stylist came and took me back. She asked me if I had any references and I didn't (I was gonna take my time finding some after work for my 3:30 appointment). I immediately regretted not having a photo for my sake and hers. I let her know I wanted it to my shoulders so a good length off from what I had, with layers. I showed her where I wanted it. She kept commenting on how much hair I had. (My hair was thick and long). She started to section my hair, chopped some and then this is where it went downhill. She grabbed all my hair and just started chopping away. She wasn't going section by section like previous haircuts I've had at other salons, asking "how is this length, so you still want to go shorter, etc". NO, she was just hackin away. This is when I knew she wasn't up for the task to deal with my head of hair. She THEN took me back to wash my hair. Fast forward I go back to my seat and I'm filled with dread because there were other stylists walking by at the amount of hair chopped on the floor. I was internally screaming because I did not want this. She brushes my hair and then once again starts chopping thinning it out and adding layers. She asked me about the length then and it's not like I could ask her to magically add my hair back. I am a people pleaser so I'll never make anyone feel bad. I had previously dyed my hair so it had grown out. I joked that in certain lights my hair looks blended but in this light it makes me realize how awful it is. She told me I should "stay in the right light". This is when some stylist came and told her, her next clients were here. I could see the panic set in and she stated she needed at least 20 minutes more, with an annoyed undertone. She started quickly blow drying my hair, made me really feel like maniac Hagrid with a bob. This is when I wish I would've told her to stop and I'll finish styling at home. I could tell she was in a rush. The same lady came back to follow up and my stylist, with the same attitude, asked for her to wash their hair, as she was not finished yet. She quickly curled my hair, asked if I liked my haircut, (at this point I had already disassociated), and I blankly said "yeaaah". And got up to pay. I paid my $45 and I sheepishly added my tip because the receptionist was watching me. I went home, got in the shower (had hair all over me), and cried. When people come to get their haircut, they're intentionally trying to boost their confidence. This was not the case as my confidence was washed down the drain. If she wasn't capable of dealing with my amount of hair or the length, or realized she didn't have the time, she should've said so. I would've gladly rescheduled or gone elsewhere. I would love a refund but based on other reviews, it's fine if it doesn't happen. If not possible, I just want to refund my tip I gave to the stylist. It's the fact that the appointment was rushed when I was asked to come in early and the fact that she was not having it. I could tell she was nervous though. I never want to be nasty or an asshole and I definitely do feel like one. Hair is hair, I know it'll grow back. read more

I waited a few days before posting to avoid any overreacting and to see if I would like my new cut. Let's just say I have calmed down but that's where it ends. I have been on a forever journey to find a new hair stylist/technician (my former stylist is now out of state). I was hoping Head's Up would be the place since it is close to home and came with many good recommendations. I made an appointment for a partial highlight and lowlight and a nice cut. I asked my bangs to be trimmed (below the browline) and my lowlights a dark chocolate, and don't forget to texturize! My bangs were cut dry but way above my brows (seriously baby bangs), the color is just OK (the stylist did only my roots and not the whole strands so the color is uneven) and the texturizing.....don't get me started but I never trust anyone to use those shears with teeth...chomp chomp. My former salon colored my hair better and more even, they use traditional shears to texturize the *ends* and they always used toner to calm the brassy. Heads Up doesn't use toner and they charged me twice for a partial (when my former salon doesn't). I had to buy special shampoo that cost way too much (the purple stuff) and I cried the remainder of the day for the bad cut and constantly getting a nice wad of hair in my hands from the texturizing leftovers. I guess this place will work for some but not for me. I will be back to my forever journey.... read more

They have great prices and the vibe is always super chill and friendly. My appointments are always on time and go by very quickly. I always get my hair styled by Nani and she NEVER disappoints. She is a very talented hairstylist. She knows what cuts and styles work best with different head shapes and hair textures and is not afraid to tell me if I have an idea that would not work for me. Just went here for the first time today and let me tell you... I will definitely be back! My appointment was with Jaci. She was great! I wanted to get a partial highlight, since my previous one had grown out. She talked to me about doing some beigy-blonde medium highlights so that they mixed in with my natural hair color. We chit-chatted while she did my foils and then took me to a separate room where the dryers were so I could "bake" for a few. After rinsing out all the color she asked what I was looking to do for my hair cut. I hadn't really planned on cutting my hair too, but why not? So I asked her to add a few more layers to the back and shorten the layers around my face. That being done, she round brushed and blow-dried my hair. It came out wonderful! This was my first time to go to this salon. I scheduled a haircut and when I arrived, the person that was assigned to me was either an apprentice or fresh out of beauty school. I should have just walked out when I showed her a pic of the cut I wanted and she said she needed to get her manager to review how to do this cut. She started the cut by just cutting off a few inches from the bottom and then had to get the manager again to have her do the layering. Say what? Needless to say, the final cut wasn't even close to what I wanted but they only charged me $44 for the cut. I'm used to paying $100 for a good hair cut so the least they should have told me when i scheduled, was that the only person available was a junior stylist. Everyone was very nice but I'm going to have to find another salon and stylist to get to the style/cut I was hoping for. Why is it so hard to get a good haircut! read more

Took time off of work just for her to tell me in a rude way that my hair is too damaged (which I understand ) and she will only cut my hair all the way short and if I don't like it I can leave. I came in to get platinum blonde highlights and a trim. I'm not sure how much more clear I could have been. I felt like I was at a car dealership and was pressured to get an emergency hair treatment and look at hair extensions I did not want for the first half hour. Then after showing several pictures of what my hair looks like after I normally get blonde highlights, I thought we were on the same page. He said he would do the emergency hair treatment and then lighten my hair. Apparently not as he dyed my hair dark brown doing the exact opposite of what I came in to do! The highlights I already had are now gone. I don't know what the hell happened and why he chose to do something entirely different than what I signed up for and told him I wanted, but I was not happy at all and will not be coming back! read more

Heads up salon and spa has always treated me with such respect and is 100% worth every penny. Even just having a haircut is heavenly as they give the head such a nice massage that you feel the tension in your skull just melting away. The very first time I came here was for a haircut with Ashleigh (Ashley?) C. Before a surgery on my head. Her sensitivity to my situation was unparalleled and shaving my head pre-emptively was scary for me, but she made me feel beautiful by the end. My next visit was for a bleach and tone with Macie and she was so fun and relatable that I know I will be back to have her keep me blonde (I have stubborn black Asian/African American hair). I have such trouble with my hair in general and she also made me feel beautiful by the end of both my services with her. I wish I had more personal time to come see her. read more

I really don't want to leave negative reviews but this needs to be said. I turned up for my appointment at Heads Up excited to get my hair done. The girl who took me back was obviously young, which made me a little nervous but I tried to ignore that and be optimistic. We talked about what I wanted, then for nearly 45 mins she kept running back and forth asking for her manager's input, also others. I became a little more nervous but remained polite. Once the bleaching got under way, another young girl who obviously was not a stylist, came to 'help,' slapping on bleach and not correctly. I was by this time somewhat agitated but tried to remain calm and polite...I eventually had to find the stylist to get the bleach washed off as some breakage was occurring....during the rinse the water was either searing hot or freezing cold, here's an idea, how about take your gloves off when you shampoo? I was then given a 'massage' that was much too firm, here's another idea, how about asking your client for some input during a head 'massage.' Long story short, the bleaching on different areas of the hair was white, yellow and orange, and the root toner did not cover up my grey. By this time I'd had enough. They would have expected over $200 from me for this service, I don't see how it could have turned out to even acceptable standards with an inexperienced stylist and a frazzled manager 'keeping her eye on things.' Although they offered to fix my hair for me the following day, I simply didn't have enough confidence in them to go back. It was upsetting, instead of enjoying my time out, lapping up the experience of being pampered at the hair salon, I felt more like a guinea pig and certainly nothing like a paying customer having quality treatment. I left in tears. How about never allowing a junior stylist loose on someone's hair, without at the very least asking the client when she books, if this would be OK? Apologies if this offends but this absolutely needs to change. read more

I love this place! I have only gotten my hair colored professionally one other time at a regular haircut place about 4 years ago and it did not turn out so well. I decided to do it right and just suck up the cost and see if it would work out better. I called the Salon and they were able to get me in in less than a week, but I chose to push it further to a weekend day. No problem for the Salon. I didn't know the technical terms for want I wanted but the coordinator was able to take my laymen's terms and set up the appointment and give me an estimated time duration for treatment. I was very nervous showing up to my appointment that it wouldn't go well again. My stylist was Chloe and she is AMAZING! I didn't realize taking dark brown hair to a purple would mean bleaching it, silly me. But she listened to my crazy ideas of an ombre from dark purple to a plum purple with blue peek-a-boos. She took her time while also working efficiently on the task at hand. Chloe made be feel so comfortable and confident. I ended up getting worked on by the owner, Nani as well, as she helped with the ombre and fading effect I wanted. The end result was fantastic! We hit a small bump in the road when my teal/blue streaks came out more of a green, but they didn't charge me for that color and said if I didn't like it, I could come back and get it corrected to another blue that would hopefully actually look blue. The green color was a surprise to us all as it wasn't what the sample showed, but it all worked out and they did everything right. Chloe also recommended some great products to use with the new colors in my hair and I left really happy. I decided after a few days that I did want my blue to look better and get a few purple ends touched up. I scheduled a second appointment with CHLOE and she was able to re-lighten and dye my peek-a-boos to a much nicer blue color. I am super HAPPY! This Salon is welcoming and sincere, all of their employees are! And having to be there for 5+ hours, I got to really see they treat ALL customers, male/female, adults and kids with respect, kindness, fun and care! Looking forward to going back! I had a SpaFinders gift card and thought I would give this salon a try. I scheduled a Microdermabrasion Facial with Suzy. Upon waking in, it smelled like a spa and was beautifully decorated. I checked in and sat in the waiting area. Suzy was professional and kind and the facial was wonderful. The one issue I had while there was the noise level. The room I was in for the facial was near the waiting room, but the staff was so loud that, even over the soothing music and water feature in the room, I could hear them talking and laughing.
