Worst haircut of my entire life. Had a haircut with Luis C. and the entire thing was rushed. There is also the "Floyd's Promise" which is outlined on a sticker on each mirror which is supposed to include a expert shave and lather, neck massage, etc. The barber was talking about how quickly he wanted to get out of there, and it showed by the quality of the cut. Haircut was uneven and barely styled. Definitely not worth the $30 I paid for this haircut. Didn't receive any of these and had to confirm with Luis C. if he could provide these services as a part of my cut. No "relaxing neck massage". My husband and I moved to Orlando in September from Dallas and had been going to Floyd's there for years. We even made what came to be one of our best friends out of our stylist! So, we figured, "Why not try out Floyd's in Orlando, right?" I'd have to say, "Meh, maybe not." Just as a preface, what I expect from a hair salon is hospitality, conversation, flexibility, and passion, just to start. And of course a great haircut with consistency. We'll start with my first experience. Floyd's had just released their new booking app, got on, looked through the list and pictures of the stylists online and chose which one seemed to shine. I chose Caitlyn due to also reading through some reviews. Walked in midday and was sat with her within minutes. It was a PACKED day and the energy was high! Decent conversation and good haircut but booked a shampoo and it was missed (was not charged)--she apologized and offered one for next time "on the house". No harm, no foul, sounds great! Left satisfied and planned to return. [See first picture for day of haircut--notice the sides and how well-blended.] As it grew out [refer to second picture], it maintained a well-blended fade and even the top stayed well blended. I decided to rebook for November 4th with the same stylist. I had just started my new job and knew I'd want a good clean-up on my first conference video call the following day with the higher-ups. My appt was at 6:30p on a Thursday and I left at 5:35 coming from I-Drive. It got to be 6:15 and I still hadn't even gotten 4miles due to traffic. I called and let the receptionist know that there was a good chance I'd be late for the appt due to traffic. She put me on a brief hold to let the stylist know and came back on and said that was fine and to drive safely. I arrived at 6:42p, a hand full of people still working and no one waiting. I went to the reception and I apologized multiple times, and explained who I was and that I was the one who'd called. Reception said, "Uhmmm... I'm not sure if she's gonna be able to fit you in now." That, of course, didn't sit well with me and I explained a bit heatedly that I had called beforehand and could have bypassed the hassle of traffic if I had been told that initially. She walked to the back and minutes later Caitlyn came up and I sat down, again apologizing. Conversation from previous turned into small talk, and a good haircut turned into a hot mess. I was over it after she was done in literally 10mins because I told just to buzz the sides so I wouldn't feel worse taking up too much more time. [See 3rd picture for results.] The sides were more like layered cliffhangers and the grow out was just horrible [refer to last picture]. My scalp/neck even broke out from the trimmer(s) she used, thankfully easily resolved with my tea tree treatment. [did not capture breakout] When checking out she lowered my charge to a buzz cut (thank you for that) and I tipped $15 for their inconvenience that I seemed to have incurred. All this to say, I have now found a new salon and stylist that is locally owned and operated that has blown me away to end and I will not ever return to this barbershop. Please note, I do not blame the receptionist for any of this. The situation was just very poorly managed and the results were unacceptable. I'd have rather just turned around and gone home with a reschedule. read more

We've used Floyd's a lot in the past and they've always had good stylists. This past time I took my daughter was no different. Nicole did a great job trimming her hair. My issue is with the pricing. Online they have a services menu and it states: Full Service Cut 56.00 Best value for long-layer cuts. Includes desired cut with our signature massage shampoo and full style. When I went to pay, I was charged $85.00 for the above service. I thought that sounded really high for a trim and blow dry. She didn't even wash her hair. I called them after I left and asked why I was charged so much more when it states online $56 w/a wash and style. She said they no longer use Floyd's pricing and charge $35 for a blow dry. She said the best she could do is give me a $10 coupon towards a future service. That is terrible business practice. If you advertise a price and then proceed to charge over 50% more, how is that ok? I will not be back. I should have been refunded for the over-pricing and the online price honored. read more

This is my favorite place in town to get a haircut, hands down. If you have hair from the neck up, they can take care of it! Haha. I've been going here for well over a year now, probably much longer than that. For those who have never been to Floyd's, it is music culture meets Barber shop. The walls are lined with wallpaper made out of cover albums and music magazine covers across the ages of music. If you have a genre of music, you can probably find an artist that you recognize or like on the walls. There are always a bunch of barbers and stylists on hand. Men, women, and children, they take them all. If you're like me and have more hair on your chin than on your head, you're in luck... They have people who are specifically trained in beard cutting and grooming. Bushy eyebrows? They've got that. Hair in strange places on your ears? Not a problem. Looking like Wolfman had a love child with Bigfoot? They can help you from the neck up. (Seriously, go to a waxing place for the rest of that nonsense.) The website is fully functional and allows you to schedule appointments ahead of time. It's really simple to look ahead see what's available and match it to your schedule. I do this practically every time now because it's so simple, and they have never once missed an appointment that way. In short, I love this place and you should too. I have been going here for several years and it is about time I give them some love. I recently visited for a long overdue hair cut. One of the current requirements due to COVID-19 is to make an appointment, which I always suggest doing anyways. After making your appointment they send you an email telling you what to expect and how to check-in upon arrival. Once I arrived I entered with my face mask on and had my temperature taken via a non-contact forehead scan. Since I was the only customer waiting I was allowed to wait inside, in the corner where the chairs typically are. Customers are typically asked to wait outside the barbershop or in their cars. Once David was ready he greeted me and walked me to his chair. To promote social distancing they have every other chair blocked. David did an excellent job at providing me with the haircut I wanted. As I was checking out I noticed he sanitized the chair and he also had his temperature taken and logged. I really appreciate what Floyd's 99 is doing to keep their customers and the community safe. read more

I feel bad posting negative review, but I truly hope that the next person doesn't waste their money.. I recently moved to the area in hopes to find a good barber. This business looked nice, clean, so I tried it out. The barber talked the entire time to his colleagues and would cut one stand of hair, look away, laugh and talk, then cut one strand, walk away and talk about getting drunk and how he likes to party. I don't really care when people talk about things like this typically, but please just look at what you're cutting in the process. I told him 3 times how I wanted my hair and beard trimmed. He didn't fade my hair at all so it was uneven all around. He took a straight razor the top of my beard and didn't line it up correctly because he was too busy talking. I asked him to trim my beard he said "I got you bro" 3 times. Never trimmed my beard. Cut the top of my hair so uneven I had to go to another barber the next day because my hair was so jacked up. On top of allll of this he said "I'm going to tell them to charge you for a shampoo, not a beard trim to save you money" Well, I got neither, although I wanted both... it's such a shame. I like this place a lot. The people who work here are professionals. And you want a professional to be handling sharp objects around your hair, neck, and face. A great thing about Floyd's is that its open late and its not dead silent. There's good music on all the time and they have several televisions. I always like their service. Even if I don't have a reservation, they can always fit me in in less than 15 minutes. And every person who cut my hair was friendly and did a good job. After all, they're pros. Loved my visit here. Needed a hair cut after five plus months of not having one. Luckily I got them at the right time and there wasn't a wait. JoJo saw me right away. She carefully listened to my wants and gave advice when asked. She was super friendly and easy to talk to about life. Highly suggest you see her if you go! My only suggestion is online reservations. Went in for second time first time was a good experience the first time but the second time the person just felt like he was in a rush or something. To end with as my hair was already cut since usually I trust my barber to cut me as I rest and close my eyes i wake up and see that man messed me up.from the seat it look fine since I was far but as I got home notice all the error from the fade not even being properly done not even on either side. I have walked into this business for the last time. I've been going there for 3 years and it has progressively gotten worse. I went today for a haircut and found 5 barbers. Sitting in their chairs spinning around like little kids and was told. I would have to wait an hour and 10 minutes to get a haircut. There wasn't a single customer in sightype. I had asked for a low taper and a trim off the top, and the taper was fine but then they didn't trim my hair but instead cut off 2 inches, as well as leaving part of my hair on the top in the front how it was originally. Now my hair is completely uneven, and if it weren't for the 2 inches cut off and it being uneven, the haircut would've been fine. read more

Don't bother. They don't listen to what you ask for. My 12 year old son has been growing his hair longer for 6 months. We wanted a trim and to keep growing it out.... The barber (who's listed as one of their "headliners) used what looks like a 2 or 3 clipper guard and does an entire side of his head then asks " is this too short?" Way too late of course, he's already screwed up and can't go back.....Completely ruined my kids day, we even showed a picture of what it should look like.... No help. One of the best barbershops I have come across. I was visiting the area from NYC, I needed a haircut desperately, I whipped out my trusty Yelp app and found this little treasure. This is not your ordinary barbershop, upon walking in you are greeted and the vibes are super cool, you get this NYC Williamsburg vibe, I was lucky enough to find a place like this open on a Sunday. They ask if you want a barber or hairstylist, I requested a barber and I was immediately sat down. The Barber was super cool and friendly, cut my hair exactly how I wanted and even shaped up my beard at no charge. I received one of the best haircuts I have gotten in a while, and the price was very reasonable. This place rocks. read more

So I was having lunch next door and I notice this Barber shop. I decided to look them up on yelp and I was pleasantly surprised that they also cut women hair. I saw that they had good reviews. I called around 10:15am and was able to get an appointment for noon that same day. AWESOME! I must admit I was a bit nervous but as soon as I walked into this shop I felt like I was home! I love the decor its so hip and cool just my style. Reminded me of a cool looking car shop. Anyhoot my stylist was Ravin. He was very friendly and very informative, he ask me what I was looking for and he paid attention to every detail of the cut which I love! I have short hair so its buzzed on the sides and long on the top. (Pink hair). He made me feel very comfortable, I think next time I go in I may get the top cut shorter. Oh and did I say that it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! To pay under $30 for a cut (and that's with a $5 tip.) If you like the edgy style I say go check them out because you wont be disappointed. As far as the other reviews about having issues with appointments I got mine for the same thing and I walked in and out during my lunch hour. I for sure WILL be back in a month for my trim. read more
