We scheduled an appt for our friend to get nice and man groomed as he's here from out of town. The nice thing is that it was easy to book and their folks were easy going too and helpful over the phone. We booked same day and came in. He got a buzz and the woman who helped him was so nice. The ambiance is super cool, good music (although could be loud for some), the wall has paintings of pictures and graffiti and other and it was just cool, and there were some tvs. My boyfriend goes to the Floyd's in northern glendale or so and he loves it, he goes regularly. That's how we thought to look one up over by us for our friend. His cut was great, the experience was nice, and his man groin was definitely well received. Guess I'm looking for a new barber. Made my appointment for 5. Busted my ass to get there in time. Out of courtesy...even called to let them know I might be a few minutes late. I manage to get there exactly at 5. She's still finishing off the client ahead of me. Cool, I get it. I'll take a seat and wait. She finishes the client...walks them up to ring them out....and proceeds to chat.....and chat....and chat. If she have said "be right with ya", or said anything, I'll have been cool. She didn't acknowledge me til I told the desk clerk to cancel my appointment and walked out. Called back to find out who the manager is only to find out she is. Left my name/number so I can complains to somebody higher up than her. I'm guessing my number will "get lost" before it hits somebody else's desk. We'll see. Had a haircut with Ashley, worst haircut of my life. Showed her multiple pictures of what I wanted, and my hair was pretty long after growing it out for a few months. Was really hoping for a low fade with volume on the sides and back, even tried seeing what her methods were for achieving the hairstyle i wanted but she didn't listen at all and proceeded to buzz my hair all the way to the top. Missed multiple parts and left long hairs all around my ears, also made the worst choppy line in the back instead of tapering. Not sure if she was new or just in a hurry, but now there's no way to fix it since she took off so much. Just a really bad job overall. read more

I sadly drove 30 minutes to this place because my brother told me he liked it. But when I got there FIVE MINUTES LATE they said they had cancelled my appointment because I was only 5 minutes late! I will not be going here again. The guy at the desk was also rude to me saying it is not his job to tell me when my appointment is cancelled. I got one haircut from here while my usual barber shop was closed. It was fine. Went back to try a second time and got my hair absolutely destroyed. The fade I asked for is nonexistent. There is no blend. I have hard, uneven lines that aren't even close to straight, and no where near what I asked for. I think it took a total of 12 minutes. It was so bad, I immediately left and headed to a different shop to get it fixed. Wouldn't touch the shop again with a 10 foot pole. read more

I set an appointment for 4:30 on a Saturday, and arrived at 4:05, just in case my stylist (Amber S.) finished up early. Not only did Amber not finish up early, but when she did finish (well after my 4.30 appt.) she took a break and went to chat with another stylist! When she was done checking her texts and talking with her co-workers, she actually took ANOTHER client, rather than me. After waiting until 5:00 without so much as an apology from the receptionist I decided to leave and go back to my reliable barber - Luna's (on Guadalupe & Alma School). Floyd's has a cool interior design and a loud soundtrack playing multi-generational rock music, but their customer service leaves MUCH to be desired. It goes to show you, when you open multiple locations and don't have a strong management team, no gimmick like rock icon wall paper will make up for poor quality and terrible customer service. My prior experience last month was equally poor, but I chalked it up to an isolated incident. Well, I have since come to learn it is just the way Floyd's does business. This place is across the street from keep it cut, and I personally think this place is pretty sweet, people are really passionate when cutting people's hair here, and it's pretty cheap but at the same time its your standard $13 haircut (i think its $13). We had come to Tempe from California and my husband was in great need of a haircut so I called when we got to the hotel for a reservation and they were able to get us in immediately . Our appointment was at 4 pm he was helped by 3:37 I love it when people are prompt I am big on appointments being on time. The lady was very welcoming and friendly and even pronounced my husband's name correctly . I at first was kind of concerned just because I am all about being professional with appearance and most of the people working weren't dressed as professional as I am us to a barber being but they were all so nice and their clients seemed happy. I love Floyd's! I came where because I was looking for something between a Great Clips and the expensive barber I had been going to, and his is just that. I'd classify it as like a Great Clips of Barbers (but to me WAY better than Great Clips.) The vibe here is so chill and the music is always a fun variety. The staff is fun and eccentric and they almost always seem like they're having a great time. The difference between here and Great Clips type places is their license. These guys have barbers licenses while other places usually have just cosmetology licenses (more generic.) the price is on the middle end at about $23 for a standard cut, which includes a shoulder massage and usually a razor lineup. I think it's worth it though. I always left other hair places just not feeling happy with the cut or undervalued and this place has been spot on every time. I think the most important thing you have to remember is you need to find a stylist who does a good job for you. I BOOK an appointment every time with the same person (Jesse - he's awesome) who gets things done right. We also can have normal conversation cause I go there regularly and I don't have to struggle to explain what I want anymore. So find a place and more importantly a PERSON who does it right for you. Once you find them keep with em and you'll love it here! I travel from Gilbert every time to get my hair cut versus going to the closer one just for my barber! (Also, as mentioned I used to pay upwards of 40-50 for a high end barber in Scottsdale... this place does just about the same work for way less in price) read more

The team and atmosphere are nice. They always have great music playing. Ryan is the best barber. He's efficient and really talented. I started going to the Floyd's in Chandler a few years back & randomly was cut by Ariel. Enjoyed the cut & conversation so much I made it a regular thing. She let me know a few months ago she was headed to the Tempe location so I followed her here. Ariel is amazing. She knows how I like cut and takes care of me. I also frequently have her trim my beard and have been known to get a nostril wax (it doesn't hurt that much!). I wanted to love this place. It reminded my of my favorite place to get my hair cut back home. Figured it'd be a close fit to become my new hair spot. The overall cut was great but my bangs were butchered. Blunt bangs are finicky and perfection is not to be expected but the girl cutting my hair didn't take a look at my parts to begin with to see how heavy and wide they were. I have two large chunks that were missed. My boyfriend got his haircut here too. He wasn't pleased either.He wanted the length on top left and he got it cut short. Frustrating but not tragic, his hair grows incredibly fast but he did expect to have his stylist hear him out or let him know why she may not honor his instructions. Since I have a reliable work schedule I'll probably find a different salon instead of trying here again as a drop in. Wonderful staff though and great atmosphere. Wish it worked out! read more
