I rarely leave a negative review but my experience here was so bad I couldn't let it go. I was long overdue for a haircut because my stylist moved out of state and it is such a pain to find someone good so I kept putting it off. So I decided to try Floyd's again after some years and scheduled an appointment online. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, it felt like I was a bother - not one of the "regulars." There were three barbers working at at that time and they would look at me, then at each other. I even watched the barber in front of me deliberately take on a task so he would not have me as his next appointment. A woman in the back took me as if she drew the short straw. I explained the haircut I wanted (razor cut with a messy vibe). The whole thing was rushed and the haircut I got was nothing like what I asked for. When I got home, my 15 year old son commented how bad it was. It's a shame that they weren't willing to even try. read more

I made two appointments for my sons for the same time which was offered on the website for bookings. We arrived 10-15 minutes early. Both were not in the chair by the time the appointment was scheduled to start. One was waiting for 20 minutes past their scheduled appointment. They both looked up reference photos and neither got what they asked for. We were told they couldn't do any type of lines when one was just a hard part. Another stated she had been a barber for 15+ years and not being able to do any type of line work with that much experience is insane. When my son sat in the chair, he became nervous. She attempted to reassure him and ended up cutting his neck which made his experience even worse and ultimately made him scared to go back to any barber. Let me start by saying that I've been going to Floyd's barber for years, multiple locations. Yesterday I had an appointment and I got a call from the front desk asking if I would be there soon, I was running 3-5 minutes late. She asked if I would like to reschedule, apparently they were very busy yesterday. I said I'm about a mile away and there traffic, I'll only be 5 mins late. I asked if they had a customer to take my spot and she said no. I've been late a time or two for an appointment and never been asked to reschedule, especially for 5 minutes late. I decided to make an appointment for my son, and we showed up ten minutes early and still sat for almost 25 minutes!!! We finally got up and left. They have a fun and laid-back environment with music and TVs. We've been using Erica now for several years - she's a blast! A whiz with the scissors and fun to visit with. They advertise shaves. But just try to get one. I work 72 hours per week and have limited time off. I have tried twice in the last 2 month to call and set up an appointment to get a shave. Only to be informed they have no time to do a shave but they can set me up on another day. Sorry, but I always thought that the customers time was important and that it was the businesses duty to their customers to make it as convenient for them as possible. But not here. I have given up hope of ever going back here for a haircut and shave. If you have a really flexible schedule and can wait for them to get you in on their timeline, then this will be the place to go. But if your like me and your downtime is valuable, I strongly suggest that you go somewhere else. They do not work to accommodate you. You have to accommodate them. FOLLOW UP: Tried again. Called to set up an appointment. Was told there was no one on that day available to do a shave. Got a "Sorry". NOT "I'm sorry", just "sorry". Which they were not. So NO MORE!! First time at this location I had an appointment. Whoever it was that was assigned to my reservation didn't show up to work. After 45 minutes wait the receptionist told me, very matter of factly, that it'll be another 30 until someone can get to me. Showed no empathy. So I left. I decided to give this place another try since it was the only one near me. This time I was assigned a lady, wearing pretty much sloppy pajamas, to cut my hair. On top of that she was a open-mouth gum chewer, while cutting my hair. I don't even recall this lady smiling once. I bet you she hated working here as much as I hate getting my hair cut here. I could not wait to leave the chair. From the two experiences at this location, I will not be recommending this place to my friends and family. Professionalism is not a focus here. I first want to say that I was impressed with how management handled my situation. I am a very impulsive person when it comes to my hair, and I wasn't patient enough to wait for an opening with my hair girl. So I came here. The first time I got my cut done, it was horrific. I showed her a picture and it looked nothing like it. I was going to a medium a-line bob with very little layers, and I got a drastically different cut. The shortest layer went to middle of my ear and they weren't even. It looked like my hair was damaged because of how she cut my hair and it was awful. I called and eft a message for the manager. I got a call back and they wanted to get me back in as soon as possible to fix my hair. Thankfully I was free so I went in right away. They put me with Sarah, who has been with the company 10+ years, and she was great. She looked at the photo and did exactly that. To get the layers to look right, we had to go a little shorted than I wanted, but it looks good and it will be they length that I want eventually. I most likely won't be back, just because I know I should have just waited my hair girl to have an appointment. But I was happy with how my complaint was handled. read more

Very poor quality hair cut and very unprofessional. First, I had to ask the stylist to cut my daughters bangs after she said she was finished with her haircut. Secondly, my 14 year old son was not happy with his haircut, his haircut looked rushed, and was not tidied up as one would expect at a barbershop. The hairstylist said that his haircut would take too long and that he needed to schedule for another one hour long haircut appointment. When I tried to get clarification as to what type of haircut my son paid for, I was given the run around. Needless to say, we will not be going to any Floyd's location for our hair needs from this point forward. read more

I've recently moved to this area from Fort Collins, and was a long time client of the S College Avenue location. Once I got down here I felt comfortable continuing to be a client of Floyd's expecting the quality of the cut I have received to be the same. Unfortunately, after trying this location twice- and receiving a haircut From Anna Lisa B. my first time, and Travis F. my second time. I'm left feeling incredibly disappointed with the mediocre haircuts I've received from both stylists. My haircut is pretty simple, take a half inch or so off the top, and a fade on the side's up to a 3. My first haircut from Anna Lisa, lasted all of 10 minutes where the stylists in Fort Collins were comfortable spending upwards of 30 on my hair to ensure a great result. I've even gone so far as showing a picture of the haircut style I wanted to clearly explain what type of fade I wanted on my sides, so that there was no miscommunication- only to still be disappointed. Both stylists seemed to have understood what I wanted, but have provided a haircut that is truly no better than that of a Great Clips- for double the price. Neither of the haircuts I have received have resembled anything like a fade on my sides. Moving forward, I truly don't think I can return to this location with confidence- and would much prefer to save my money and pursue a haircut at a Great Clip's or Fantastic Sam's. At least that way if the haircut doesn't meet my standards, I haven't forked out nearly $30. Overall, just really unhappy with the results of my visits and am left not feeling particularly confident about my hair. read more

"Great," I thought. Well, after 1.5 hours of sitting in my chair waiting (that clock started when I arrived AFTER the 1 hour call-ahead wait), I can affirm this is most definitely not great. Girl at the front desk was rude, my hairdresser (Margarita) was also rude and seemed annoyed to do my hair? Maybe it was a stressful day at the salon? I asked for them to trim up the ends thinking it would be around $21, before tip. 10 minutes and $36 later, (including my tip that I shouldn't have given) my hair looks the same.... we asked if the pricing was correct because they had barely cut anything off. The women working there were standing around talking to each other and ordering food, and seemed annoyed to even have to deal with me... again, maybe it was a hard day? Apparently because my hair is past my shoulders it's more expensive, which wasn't stated on their pricing board... but if that's how it works, then that's the way the pricing works. Had my hair not been rushed and the service been more pleasant, I wouldn't have minded the price so much. I don't need to hear someone's life story or have them talk to me the whole time doing my hair, but being friendly is important in a customer service job. I got a walk-in haircut in between appointments and during my cut the stylist casually mentioned to me 'oh did you know you have a cut behind your ear?" I thought she was pointing out that she was being delicate to that side of my head because I might have had a pre-existing cut behind my ear but nope... I guess it was barber code for 'hey I just cut the back of your ear because I am rushing through your haircut and I don't want to take responsibility for it or even apologize like a normal human being with basic decency would when they make another human bleed accidentally". Accidents happen and I'm OK with that, but I only noticed when I got back in my car and went to put my sunglasses on that blood had started pooling behind my ear and dripping down my neck. I soaked completely through three pieces of gauze from my first aid kit in the trunk before it stopped. That's not an old cut. That's not cool. In fact, that's super shady and makes me feel like the stylist was trying to cover up her mistake. Super unprofessional. I was fairly excited when I found-out a Floyd's was opening in Westminster. I started going to the Floyd's on Champa sometime around 2001-2002 and have been a regular customer for the most part ever since. However, this location is really nothing terribly better than your standard Great Clips-- lots of suburban moms used to cutting kids hair, and reeking heavily of cigarette smoke. I have had a couple of good stylists in here, but they soon left. I've had several bad experiences here, but the worst was when one of the stylists cut a HUGE chunk out of my bangs and just left it as it was.. I think that might have been the last time I decided to shave my head actually.... I know of at least a couple of stylists who live in this area but choose to work downtown for many reasons, and I continue to make the trip downtown as this location doesn't seem to attract and keep the great people they have in their other more central locations (Colfax, Broadway, and Champa). It's too bad-- I'd really like to get my haircut here, but I've had some really terrible haircuts and experiences here. I guess if you want to take your kids there then go ahead, but if you're a young professional looking for a step-up from Great Clips, I'm not sure that you'll be impressed. read more

I've been to this particular Floyd's several times over the last 7 or so months. I've had mostly OK experiences, some good and some not-so-good. This past Sunday was by far the worst. Knowing that they'd be slammed before the super bowl, I called and was told that the wait was an hour. I put my name in over the phone and arrived approximately 50 min. later. The girls at the front desk were overwhelmed with how busy the store was and were failing miserably and keeping things flowing. Several other guys, who hadn't called before, where called before I was finally called. I waited in-store for a good 40+min, excluding the 50 min I'd already waited prior to showing up. I don't know if I'll go to this Floyd's again, or any other Floyd's. It was a very disappointing experience and I do not recommend. read more

The website says I can make reservations. So I called this morning to make a reservation for this afternoon. The lady on the phone says "We only take 30 minute call-ahead reservations." Okay, so I call this afternoon 30 minutes before I want to come in and ask for the 30-minute call-ahead. The same lady says, "Our current wait is 45 minutes." Been to a few Floyd's but this one takes the trophy home! The place itself just looks better, smells better (but seriously some of their locations got some funk problems) and does service better. Walked in: Greeted and not in that snobby "I hate my day job" like I was used to from the Denver locations. From the moment I said ME WANT HAIRCUT they made me feel like a muthaflippin rockstar (I'll keep this PG for you Yelp). Cassidy took me into her loving arms and made me a handsome dude ready to take on the world of crazy lady folk. I normally don't have a clue when the hair lady is like 'how you want it'. My mind goes straight to the gutter but usually I just say 'short' and they go to work. Cassidy asked me some questions and went to work, making good small talk while working my crap excuse for hair. Even after everything was done she noticed my dome has a mind of it's own and sticks up awkwardly... she worked magic made it all better. Also any dude that feels he is to chump to get the shampoo/massage dudes you are missing out on something magical. So Cassidy and the rest of Westminster Floyd's you have won me over. So, I came to this place because my cousin recommended it. I need a side bang trim and as the lady started to trim them... she pulled them on the opposite side from where I usually part my bangs and started trimming it (I thought that was her "technique", but i was WRONG). When she was done she realized that she cut it to the wrong side and says, "Oh... that makes you look younger..." How hard is it to realize which way someone parts their hair??? So my bang trim came out super short and I had to clip them up for over a month so that they could grow back! Horrible.
