Would leave zero star if possible - called at 9am for sewer cleanout - said would be at my home at noon - called at 1 saying were finishing up in Eudora and would be at my home shortly - I called at 5:30 and they said were still coming and never showed up. I made an appointment to get an estimate on a sewer line job. They didn't show up and no phone call. I called again. They apologized for a mix up and made another appointment. Again no show. Called again, another mix up. Finally a guy came out talked to me about the job. Said he'd put together an estimate. I called a week later and never got a response to my request for an estimate. My friend later told me she used Floyd's a year ago and they had to come back to repair their flawed work. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else. read more

Had a blocked sewer line on a Sunday night. Our home has an old house trap set up which can make having the lines cleaned out especially difficult. After calling Floyd's for help with drains that were moving slowly, one of their plumbers came out and proceeded to pour something in the drain. Unfortunately, the water in the pipes was cold and whatever he poured down there froze like cement in the pipes. Everything needed to be replaced! We had some success with Floyd's previously and so after some time we tried to let them snake some roots figuring it wouldn't be too bad, but after two months everything is backed up again and now Floyd's has put us on a "no service" list and will not stand by their work. Wow, this is their level apparently...unprofessional, inexperienced (if they are putting something down a drain without knowing it would freeze solid) and not worthy of your time or money. Today, I called 4 times. They told me the same thing, they will page the technician, but no one called, again. The 4th time, they told us we just have to find someone else to do the job. Did an excellent job but will never use them again as they seem to have a serious bookkeeping problem. Originally paid with a credit card which they said didn't work so sent them a check which they cashed. They then sent a second invoice for the original amount with an additional charge that I paid by check for the difference. They never cashed it. Sent another invoice so I replied with copies of the first cashed check and info on the second check I sent. Went ahead and sent another check. Not cashed. Just got another invoice for the same thing threatening collections this time. Tried calling but can never get through only get answering service. One of the worst customer service experiences ever, almost a hostile one, which makes no sense. I had used there service before and decide to used then again. Upon agreeing to the term except the one to leave all credit card info including secure code on the service guys cell phone which will have permanently, i simply said invoice me and will show up cash once job is done. with anger service guys agrees and calls at mid work to ensure we meet. i ask how much until he done, he stares 30 to 45 min so i show with cash in hand to a hostile individual stating he is waiting yet the job agreed is not done and will not be done. individuals is yelling and aggressively speaking with me, i kept trying to calm the guy down and ask what Is going with him to calm down and let's reset and start over to conclude our business, this individual couid not rationally grasp the concept of professional conduct and got even more aggressive storming out and stating that never to call the company again and threatening statement. Missunderstanding occurred all the time in business yet those who can maintain decorum will stay in business and get referrals but this behavior was unacceptable even when we may disagree on the execution yet I was there with visible cash in hand ready to conclude the business on the individual calm down enough to settle up. After a 56 hour wait, being ignored, my dis-satisfaction was justified, but I wasn't looking forward to yet another wait from a competitor. So, Update: The owner called us at 4PM CDT Sunday (today). Offered to come by in about an hour. He showed up promptly at 5:00 PM, and was finished (and cleaned-up) by 5:20PM. $85. He blamed his "new system" for our having been ignored. Where have we heard that before? But it could be. Nothing excuses the lack of good communication, but at least now we can wash dishes again, and we won't have to have drain service for another 5-10 years. We've used Floyd's Drain Cleaning in our home for over a decade now. Having an older home we always have some kind of problem with drainage. Amazing! I am new to the world of septic tanks and was completely overwhelmed when our main drain backed up at 5PM on Sunday night of a holiday weekend! My floor drain was overflowing with raw sewage and it was a Sunday morning. I had a bad feeling that either I would be unable to find an open business or I would pay through the nose to get it fixed. My plumber friend recommended Floyd's so I checked them out on Yelp. I noticed a couple negative reviews that had bad things to say about the answering service, but that aspect of the business was the least of my concerns so I called anyway. The lady at the answering service said somebody would contact me in 30 minutes, which they did. I spoke to a person named Jonathan and he and his coworker Alex came out about an hour later. They gave me a quote up front and had the drain cleared in less than 45 minutes. My cleanout valve is in my basement and they laid out a tarp to keep the area clean. There was a clog in the line about 45 feet away from my house that was causing the problem. Nice guys and they got the job done quickly for well under $200 which was cheaper than I expected for Sunday rates. Who knows how much it would have cost if I had called Roto Rooter instead (I'm guessing a lot more). I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, but hopefully I won't need to. read more
