I have been going to Floyd and Lizzies since they had their little shop on Redwood Road and still sold vacuum cleaners along with their sewing machines. I have purchased three sewing machines and a long arm machine from this store and find that they offer far more classes to learn your machines than any other dealer in Utah. When ever I have an issue they have not only meet my expectations but followed through until I was completely satisfied. Yes I am a fan of Floyd and Lizzies, they have some of the most knowledgeable teachers and trainers in Utah and offer classes for all types of skill level and machine types. The new manager Norm is knowledgably and offers the consumers over the top service. Don't listen to someone who is impatient and does not allow for normal business delays. Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for a sewing machine of any type and want to learn all you can about your purchase, Floyd and Lizzies is the first and last place you should shop. read more

I went in to Floyd and Lizzie's today to have my older model pfaff 362 fixed. I expected for the service to take a few weeks for the repair. I was told that the repair man had just quit and it would take over 6 or more weeks for repair because they needed to replace him! But the gentleman told me he could look at it and see if he could adjust what ever it was that needed adjusted if I had twenty minutes. He buffed out my sewing machine plate which I had scratched up terribly and had oiled and fixed the tension on my machine. Then he didn't even charge me for the repair! Which I would had been happy to do! Not only does my machine work great, I was so impressed with the customer service that I had received that I ended up laying away new pfaff 2.0 model and cannot wait to be able to use it! This store is amazing! Fabrics, machines, lessons and more. Mary and Norm were personable and knowledgable about their product and mine. My daughters machine - an inexpensive singer- stopped working in the middle of my project. I WAS STRESSED! I was visiting from Tucson to help her with her 2 little ones and I was leaving the next day. I thought maybe there is a place that can repair the maching and or let me use/ rent a machine for an hour or so. WELL.. I used their machine to complete my project - Mary welcomed me with a great smile and set me up on their Pfaff- when I was done...Norm fixed my daughters machine - no charge for either service! Customer service is apparently at the top of the list here. Last week I purchased a basic machine to help grandkids learn to sew. Daniel spent an incredible amount of time making sure that the granddaughter who was with me could wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and sew with it. She and I are both thrilled with it. I'm looking forward to many fun completed projects with this machine. I recently bought a sewing chair from them and have not been able to get it adjusted to be comfortable. Today Daniel spent time figuring out how to fix that and took care of it. And, he had a bobbin case for my long arm on hand to replace the one that has disappeared in my recent move. Thank you. I went in today to have my sewing machine looked at and the gentleman who helped me (wish I had his name) was so knowledgeable and kind. He sat with me for almost a half an hour diagnosing the problem. He informed me that to fix the problem would cost me more than what the machine is worth. When I got up to leave and asked him how much I owed him for his time, he said nothing. I was so happy with his honesty and kindness. I told him I would have gladly paid him for his time, but he refused. It is nice to know that at Floyd&Lizzie's customer satisfaction is a priority. If you are into quilting and sewing machines there really isn't anything these fun and informed people can't help you with. I bought a great sew machine there and they gave me classes, instructed me on the phone and have even given one-on-one help and are always so pleasant. The classes are very informative because they give step by step instructions for beginners and as a seasoned sewer I've learned some very helpful tips to make my work look spectacular. I have purchased two sewing machines and had another serviced at Floyd and Lizzies. The technicians ( Norman and James) were very knowledgable and straightforward (and accurately diagnosed the problem with my older machine.) It was repaired in short order. The sales staff were all willing to answer any questions and I found them all well informed and courteous. A very special "thank you" to Mary who is as professional and nice as they come. After purchasing a Pfaff, I attended an instructional class given by Sandra. All of our questions were addressed and a follow up class is to be scheduled. I learned about Floyd and Lizzie at a quilt show in Salt Lake. They offer classes on Pfaff sewing machines and how to use them. Since taking the classes I feel empowered to use my machine. I also know I can call and get help. Their help is the best - friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging. I have looked online for another sewing store that does the same thing and not found one! I have taken several other classes and they are often free. Also, they are very generous with what they give you to complete the class. It is worth the drive from Layton and I am never disappointed. The Birthday party was a knock-out: yummy eats, fun and easy make-and-takes, having my work-horse BabyLock Quilter's Choice cleaned and oiled for $15.00, WOW! Then I stayed long enough to use a Viking Ruby Embroidery machine and that was it. That machine is now at home with me and my 'crew'. Norm, all of your costume changes were stunning. If you haven't been here, you need to go check it out. The store is so bright and well organized. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I attend the American Sewing Guild meetings in their wonderful classroom. It seems like they always have something fun going on either in the store or in the classroom. I was not disappointed, James, the new trained serviceman was very conscience and did a great job.
