Before heading out for our date, my girlfriend and I stopped in for manicures and drinks and was pleasantly surprised with the concept. This is Denver's first full salon and bar. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The bartender was surprisingly extremely knowledgable and made some great cocktails...in fact some of the best we have had here in Denver (fresh organic fruit theme, we tried the fresh watermelon and basil martini!). The energy and vibe was on point especially to start our night. I think the girl's name who did my service was Jessica who did a great job on my MANicure! All thumbs up, we will be back frequently. The price point was a little high for us but was cheaper than expected for this kind of place and it was far less expensive and much more fun than at a hotel spa. read more

Britt sent me an offensive, error-riddled, insulting rant at 1:00am on a level of unprofessionalism the likes of which I have never seen. Write me; I'm happy to provide our email exchange. 2. A number of people have sent me yelp messages thanking me for posting my review, as they had curiously similar experiences and even told me in our discussion that they had been berated and insulted by the unprofessional and classless antics of Brit. 3. Britt inflates Fluff's rating via her friends and by berating or accusing disappointed clients of being fake to get Yelp to filter the review. It's just sleazy. She's proven my point. Do yourself a favor - if you prefer not to be insulted after a disconcerting experience, or don't want to leave with your hair smelling burned, save yourself the trouble. Go to Luxe or The Parlour. *There are CLEARLY no fake accounts - surely nobody does that - my full name is Akilah, and everyone but my grandma calls me Kai. I travel on business and during my trips have been fortunate enough to visit REAL master stylists. You'll find in Brit's extremely unprofessional, shocking, and pathetic response several half-truths and outright lies (including a breach of record confidentiality). Decide for yourself; message me for details. REVIEW: I'd seen Britt before and decided I'd like her to be my regular stylist. I made another appointment, and when I called to confirm and see about coming in 15 minutes earlier, I was told that I'd already been schlepped onto someone else named Ashley. I'm pretty picky about who does my hair, so I wasn't really a big fan of the sudden change without warning or a phone call to confirm and see if this still worked - particularly because Britt was already well aware of my selectivity when it came to the quality of expertise with my hair. It was less than an hour before my appointment at this point, so I went ahead. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE. 1) Ashley admittedly didn't have the right brush to actually do a blow out, so what I got instead was having my hair brushed like a child brushes a barbie doll while she held a blowdryer up to the vicinity. How a stylist at what should be a top notch salon doesn't have the right tools, I'll never know. But she spent some time trying to find one of Britt's and fell short. 2) She couldn't maneuver a blowdryer. Again, that's Stylist 101. 3) I even tried asking her to straighten my hair out, but I got resistance. A stylist who can't take direction isn't a very good stylist. 4) She was curiously hesitant - as in, she didn't really know what she was doing or how to approach it - coming at it at weird angles, not being able to hold both a brush and a dryer at the same time. It was painfully clear she didn't have much technical practice with this. It was just awkward. Ugh, what a nightmare. As a result, I didn't get a blowout, but a blowdry that I could have easily done at home. So naturally, the roots of my hair weren't all that straight. Everyone, including Britt, knows that the key to a blowout is the blowdry - the flat iron is only there to set it if need be, not to straighten it. But what did Ashley do? She turned up the heat to make up for her shoddy "blowout". I saw way too much smoke billowing from my hair, she used sections that were way too small to withstand that kind of heat, and... NOW MY HAIR SMELLS BURNED. Literally, like burning hair.. My head is in a cloud of...for lack of a better word, burnt. Whenever the wind blows, I smell it even more, and it's disgusting. People around me can smell it off of me - it's literally making me nauseous. I told Britt this as she rang me up, to no real response, and called her as I walked home to discuss in further detail since she didn't care the first time. She insisted that Ashley was skilled (though she's only been doing hair for 3 years - go figure) and that her experience from getting tips from Ashley had suggested otherwise, in some backwards attempt to completely invalidate the experience she just watched me go through, as though I was just imagining it all. Ultimately her response aside from choosing to blindly defend her employee: "What do you want me to do about it?" And it wasn't in a We'd-love-to-make-this-right-here's-what-we-can-do kind of way. This just in: you CAN'T boast on your website that you have nothing but the best of Denver's "master stylists" if you have someone in your employ who has been a stylist for 3 years. You just can't. She's a nice enough girl, but you can't be in the mood to chatter / relax when your hair is being burned. I was looking for someone I could see on a weekly basis, and spend hundreds of dollars a month on between deep conditioners, blowouts, coloring, mani pedis, and keratin treatments. I'd even been in the stages of planning a ladies event for the members of a prominent LoDo organization of which I'm a founder. Unfortunately Fluff will not be that salon. read more

I had an absolutely fabulous time here!!! Fluff bar bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. My BFF flew into town Monday to spend the week with me. We had plans to go to the Monday nuggets game but Fluff is closed Mondays. Not only did our stylist come in to do our hair on her day off (and 8.5 months pregnant) but a bar tender also came in, just to provide us the full experience!!! I gave my stylist minimal direction--fullness, side swept bang, loose curls. She made my hair VS cover model ready haha!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!!! It was absolutely beautiful, not to mention it looked almost as fabulous the entire next day! As for the bartender he was impressive as well!!! We had no idea what we wanted. However, he recommended a fabulous drink (can't remember the name) but it had skinny girl island coconut, pomegranate and I believe pineapple juice! It was soo perfect! I can't wait to come back again to get spoiled and leave looking fabulous!!! read more

Fluff is a really cool new concept for Denver! Its a classy and appealing salon and bar that is perfect for girls night out, special occasions, or just some get ready help. The staff is so warm, friendly, skilled, and fun to hang out with! Ashley is a hairstylist there and has worked wonders on my locks! Her knowledge of hair and all different styling techniques have amazed me and will never leave you unsatisfied! Whether you want your hair down in gorgeous natural waves, or a fancy up-do, or my favorite, a funky fresh and fun style, Ashley has a creative edge that will blow you away! I went to Fluff Bar this Saturday when I was visiting Denver from NYC. In NYC, I usually go to Dry Bar for blowouts before a night out, and Fluff Bar looked pretty similar based on the Yelp description. The decor was very cute, and the staff was sweet. When I sat down they asked if I wanted a beverage, as one usually does at a hair salon, and I asked for a coffee. BIG MISTAKE! I received a full cup of what tasted like instant coffee (the menu I read later says its made with a french press -- maybe this is true) and generic brand powdered creamer and sugar crystals to dump into it. Since the coffee was terrible, I just smiled and pretended to sip on it as I got my blowout. Once I got my bill, I was shocked to see that the coffee cost me $5! Luckily, I had purchased the $5 for $10 Yelp deal, so I pretty much broke even. The stylist did an ok job -- I asked for loose curls and left with a helmet of teased out, over sprayed curls, but I was able to mostly flatten them out when I got home. My friend also got a blowout and it was so teased out she looked like she was wearing a Jersey Shore style bump-it. I think this place means well, and perhaps my standards for a blowout bar are a bit high. I recommend not getting a beverage other than water and asking them in advance not to tease and overspray your hair (unless you're into that kind of thing). read more

This was no ordinary blow out...Ashley asked if I wanted curls, then proceeded to blow, role, tease and absolutely transform my hair. I got both full makeup and blowouts here, and had a very good experience both times. Everyone there was really nice and my hair and makeup looked fabulous -- tons of compliments all night. My only recommendation is to have one of those books to flip through with different hair looks (like at DryBar) to ensure that you and the stylist are defining things the same way. Fun place but they don't offer quality treatments unfortunately. Went for pedicure and blow out. Don't bother with nail treatments as there isn't any sanitation station and it sort of felt like I was at a slumber party, just painting nails as there was no real soak station, massage aspect, or relaxation. Just a bad scrub with a bowl of water that's cold, lotion pat, and nail paint. Very basic but not worth the price tag of just under $50. Blow out was not much better as the shampooing wasn't in the least bit relaxing or luxurious, just lazy and short. Styling was even worse. I basically paid to get my hair washed and dried. The staff is nice but I will be going elsewhere. Too bad, because it is such a cute spot in a great location! read more

I'm generally pretty impressed with fluff* bar. I had been two times in the past (1 or 2 years ago?) and was not happy, so I avoided going back. They ran a promotion for yesterday and I thought I would give it another chance. I just got the express manicure but my nails look beautiful today. The nail techs were conversational and nice. The ambience is super girly, but I like that when I'm getting a manicure. And the cocktails are great. I think I got a fluff-arita? It was their house marg. I could tell they used high quality liquor to make it. If you have avoided fluff* in the past, I encourage you to check it out. If you're a first-timer, get some girlfriends together and go. Ugh. I _wanted_ to love you, Fluff Bar, but I just can't. A few weeks ago, my friend and I went to Fluff for a gel mani and a standard pedi on a Thursday afternoon. When we walked in, we were looked at like we each had two heads, and everyone working was extremely awkward. But, they had just opened and we later found out one of the stylists/bartenders called in sick, so I was willing to write this off. Also, they didn't have all of their prices listed. One of the employees had to pull up the menu off of his iPad. Weird. There was only one nail tech there, which was totally fine--we weren't in any hurry and they did warn us before hand. There were no pedicure chairs. Instead, we sat on a semi-comfy couch with a bucket of water placed at our feet. Then, when one of us finished, instead of moving the the stuff 2 feet, the tech asked us to switch seats. Again, this was fine, but the floor was REALLY slippery, they didn't help us get moved, and I just about bit-it and spilled my drink everywhere. It turns out there are no manicure stations either. After finishing our pedicures, we had to again move to what looked like a bar. The tech stood behind it, and we had to awkwardly sit stretched out to reach our hands to her. I'm 5'9"; I can only imagine how awkward it would be for someone short... All of this I could have forgiven if it hadn't been one of the worst gel manicures I've ever had. She never trimmed or pushed back my cuticles. No hand massage. No lotion. The gel application was not very good either. It touched the cuticle, so when my nails started growing, there was a weird lip that caught on things. The worst part was the bill at the end. To be clear: we each had two drinks (one glass of wine and one specialty drink--coconut something-or-other), a gel manicure, and a pedicure. Total? $115 per person before any gratuity. Next time I want to sip a drink while getting a mani, I think I'll go elsewhere and bring a flask. read more

I was in town for business and wanted to get a mani and pedi before my meetings. The concept looked cute so I made an appointment. First, they only had one nail "technician" - and that term is used loosely here. The pedi was really disappointing - for their $28 pedi I received a polish change. No maintenance of cuticles, no cleansing, no massage, no base coat even. The technician also smudged my polish then attempted to fix it by painting over it. It looks like my 4 year old niece painted my toes. There was also no time to wait to let me toes dry. The technician relies heaviliy of Quick Dry spray. For my mani, I chose Shellac since it tends to last. This service was $44 dollars... but it include no cuticle maintenance or massage. And it has completed peeled and chipped off at today - FOUR days after the service. Four days!! The technician also forgot to wipe my nails down with alcohol after she finished so my nails were left extremely tacky and sticky. She had to leave to go on a date so someone else stepped in and wiped them down. I really like the idea Fluff is going for, the look of the salon is contemporary with a mix of vintage glam and the drinks we're great a deal at happy hour. Unfortunately, the quality of their services falls flat. This was the most expensive "mani/pedi" I've ever had and easily the worst ever. read more

I am SO late in writing this, but thought I did already! Our visit was July 6, 2018. Oh, what a terrifying experience it is to plan a wedding for your daughter when you are multiple states away and all you have to rely on are reviews and phone calls with people you've never met! I'd seen Fluff Bar and my mother's intuition told me they were THE place for my daughter's big day. She is our only daughter, and we have only another a son, so her daddy was going to pull out all the stops. She wanted simple, elegant; daddy wanted platinum send-off! I found out that Fluff Bar offered a special for a group of 12 which is what we had: Bride, MOB, MOG, 6 Bridesmaids and 3 flower girls. Perfect! We had the entire upstairs to ourselves, and they were able to work with my sweet, frugal daughter and ensure her that they were not going to turn her into a "Hollywood Starlet" on her day. She wanted natural as she seldom wears make-up. Her mama (me on the other hand, feels naked without it!). Fluff Bar accommodated us all beautifully. They had champagne available and allowed us to bring any snacks we wanted. There was no rush and they had ample staff to accommodate all of us and get us GORGEOUS in perfect time to head to the event center. Even the 10 year old flower girls got some pampering - hair do's and a little bit of lip gloss and "eye-scara" as they called it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The staff was great and so, so patient with a very nervous, stressed out bride-to-be. read more

The details are very clear and you know exactly what they will be providing. The packet information they send out is detailed and specific and you can tailor it to meet your needs. They tailor your design team to meet your needs and everything thin feels very tailored. I had questions that were answered promptly and Brittany was incredibly patient with me as I had to make adjustments. I feel in the best of hands going into the most exciting day of my life and have no worries that the care I will receive when I walk through the doors will be as professional, accommodating and thoughtful as I have received up to this point. read more

This by far is the worst place I have visited for a simple Blow Dry and manicure. Sure the idea of Champagne while you receive services is a great concept. However, I walked in the door that was opened 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment with a girl friend. All the staff were wondering around and didn't even acknowledge our presence! The manicure was excellent and professional. The hair stylist smelled like alcohol and cigarette smoke. Her attitude was uncaring, she didn't even ask what I wanted done to my hair! During the session, the owner came and introduced himself and he to smelled like a Brewery! I began to question the professionalism of this salon. If you look closely, you will notice how dirty the salon really is! Bathroom garbage stuffed, hair visible on the chairs, floors, and even the bar where drinks and food are served. As I said, the manicure was excellent! My hair... I could have done a better job at home! Definitely will avoid this Salon in the future! We went to the spa previously and had checked out of our hotel rooms already and our hair was a mess...it definitely needed some TLC. I went here for hair/make-up trial for my engagement photos. Wow. They do beautiful work. However, the staff is a bit brisk despite the beautiful work they do. I think Brittany is absolutely amazing to do business with, but the girl who did my hair burned me three different times. However, I'm a big believer that it 'hurts to be beautiful' and accepted these terms. I will be back next week to have my hair and make-up done for the photos and will also be signing up for my wedding and wedding party. Came here on my birthday with a girlfriend.. Salon was nice, parking was a nightmare, and the blow out was just so so. The girl burned my ears a couple time with the blow dryer, but was apologetic. I brought in a picture, and it definitely didn't look like the picture haha. For the same price at my salon, the stylists know how to curl hair without a curling iron so my hair doesn't look so poofy. Girls were nice, but definitely wouldn't choose to come back here for the parking and style. read more

I'm writing this review after giving this salon three tries for a blowout. First time was good, so I came back. Second time was terrible (my hair was still wet, frizzy, and it took almost 90 minutes), and third time (today), my hair is still dirty! I told the lady doing my hair today that she really needed to wash it, but I don't think I felt her hands/nails touch my scalp at all She just lightly lathered, then rinsed. Style is just okay. Some pieces were left uncurled, and I had to draw those pieces to her attention. So, basically, I have to go home and do my own hair after all. It's too bad because the place is in a great location, and the staff are all super friendly. Definitely won't be back unless I get a complimentary blowout to try and earn my business again. read more

I would give 0 stars but yelp doesn't allow that. 4 of us came here for my birthday and thought it would be a fun day of drinking and getting pampered. That did not end up being the case. My cousins am sister who all got gel "manicures" had their polish taken off and just painted on. My sisters had to be re done twice because of how terrible it was the first time. There was really no manicure about it. The time came for the spa pedicures which one girl was good she had purple hair and was super trendy. However the other lady did not even give a foot massage. So I paid for a "spa" pedicure which came with painting my toe nails and that it. Our bill for four pedicures three manicures was 400$. Which was the largest waste of Money due to the fact that I now feel like I still need a pedicure and all of our nails re painted. DO NOT GO. read more

Ashley was amazing and did a phenomenal job with my hair!! I have thin hair that doesn't always hold curls well, but she knew exactly what to do and it looked perfect all day and night. I will absolutely be coming back!! I've been to DryBar countless times, and although I've always been happy with the results, Fluff is better and I'd choose them over DryBar any day. This is a great spot for a bachelorette party, or just to get you prepped (physically and mentally) for a night out on the town. The staff is very fun and friendly, and the ambiance is chic and girly. However, after visiting twice (once for a bachelorette party with 5 women, and once before the wedding, ostensibly for nail appointments for 7 women), I will say this: go to Fluff Bar for the hair and makeup, not the nail services. For the bachelorette, they did a fantastic job on our blowouts, braids, and makeup. We all looked like movie stars, and had a great time doing it. The day before the wedding, the bride and mother-of-the-groom got manicures that looked like a 10-year-old had done them. Messy and unprofessional... and not cheap, either. I (bridesmaid) had to scramble to find the bride a last-minute mani/pedi at a real nail salon the morning of her wedding! Still, Fluff Bar does a relatively good job as both a bar and a salon. You can't beat the fun, upbeat atmosphere, either. Just stick to hair and makeup, and you'll be golden. read more

Went on a girls' weekend to Denver and scheduled pedicures at Fluff. What a find! We were lucky enough to be scheduled with Jenny, who took great care with each of us. She was very concerned with making sure everything was one-time use and uber-hygenic, which put us at ease. She was very sweet and made us feel very much at home. She took the time to apply a couple of different colors on top of each other to get the color just right for me (dark grey with sparkles--so pretty). Embarrassingly, it had been over a year since I had my hair professionally cut and colored. I had been doing it on my own and needed a professional touch to even out what I had done. Unfortunately, my previous stylist can no longer be found. My friends had great results with the blow dry bar at Fluff and I learned they also do color. The vibe seemed fun when I checked it out online. So I booked my appt. :) I was kinda nervous walking in as I didn't immediately notice a "reception" area - but my stylist - Emily - greeted me at the entrance by name. I was offered a glass of champagne (uh, fabulous!) and we began discussing my color. Immediately I felt comfortable and welcomed. While she was getting the color, I eyed the salon. Such a cool atmosphere. Everything is white with this blue/purple glow to it. There were chandeliers, tufted furniture, and Dom bottles everywhere. The bar is something I wish could be duplicated in Denver nightlife. I can see why my friends would primp here before going out. I felt like I was in LA. So chic. Emily was great! She was able to evenly blend the new color with the old and didn't once pick on or shame me for home coloring. (which I was totally afraid a stylist would do) Another perk were the Kevin Murphy products. It's all I previously used and since I hadn't been in a salon in a while - I've missed the product. Smells so yummy during the wash and conditioning. Also the products held my style for a few days. Which I needed since I try not to wash my hair for at least 48 hours after a color. Afterwards I was really happy with my new 'do! I showed Emily some pictures of what I want to accomplish and will be back in 4-6 weeks.
