The menu at Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes offers a variety of pancake options to suit every taste. From classic flavors like syrup and fruits to more adventurous choices like matcha and tiramisu, there's a pancake stack for everyone. For those seeking a savory twist, they also offer savoury options. My go-to pancakes are either their Signature or Matcha Tiramisu. Definitely a good place to go to satisfy your Japanese pancake cravings in the city.

For context, we went to this location during Covid lock down and had to take this to go. The drive home was like 40 mins and by the time we tried it - it wasn't naturally as good as it would be eating there. Dessert - we got the Matcha white chocolate pancake. Plus the Yelp check-in complimentary ice cream Taste - the pancake tasted really regular. It wasn't as airy as we remembered. The matcha was a nice bittersweet taste..good but nothing mind-blowing. The complimentary ice cream was meh...it tasted like those ice cream you get at the buffet but with a tad bit freezer burn. Overall - it was alright. Tip for anyone planning to come here is to try to eat on site..or ASAP. It definitely didn't taste as good after waiting 1 hr to eat. The Reg Signature pancake is probably the better choice for newbies to try -we loved that one at the Bathurst location. The free YELP check-in complimentary ice cream cone might be a hit or miss. The server lady advised she knew nothing about it but she still honoured it by giving us a free ice cream mini cup instead of the cone as advertised.

I heard there was a Japanese pancake place and after having them for the first time in Hawaii (and later Japan), I've been craving them ever since and needed to get my fix! It was pretty busy when we came in but luckily we were able to grab a seat. The service was nice and quick and when we came they had an active yelp check-in offer for ice cream on top! :D We settled on choosing the blueberries cheese pancake. Aesthetically, the pancake looked super yum. The texture of the pancake lived up to the fluffy soufflé texture of Japanese pancakes. The sauce was good but the taste that was supposed to be the highlight, the pancake itself, ended up turning me off from the dish. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch but our pancake ended up really eggy tasting which wasn't my cup of tea. :/ Their water station could do with a check in now and then too. When I was about to drink from my cup I noticed all these little dirty floaty bits at the top - gag. :x I'm not sure if this was from the cup or the water station but it's on me to check carefully next time. Thank goodness I didn't drink from it... These various factors lead to me giving fuwa fuwa a 2.5 stars. But I am rounding to a 3 based on the good service we received despite the unpleasant food encounter. I did not enjoy the egg taste, but based on other reviews, maybe I was unlucky that day. I do think the other flavors they have sound intriguing so who knows, I might head back again one day to give it another chance.

I went to Fuwa Fuwa for their pancakes after seeing the rave reviews on TikTok. The restaurant wasn't that crowded. I ordered the Signature pancake along with a cold drink and it was pretty good with the fruits on top. Service was kind of slow since it took 20 minutes to get my pancake. Service was friendly.

Great presentation of items and shop. Definitely does give off a nicer, more luxurious vibe (prices to match $$$). 1. Pancakes are addictively good. I crave for them all the time... Fuwa Fuwa is my top Japanese Pancake choice. 2. Mango Latte/Milk and Strawberry Latte/Milk. I think they have real fruits! They tasted like real fruit and the strawberry one had a lot of seeds floating which made it look nice too. Both drinks are refreshing and perfectly sweet. Not wanting my drink to be watered down, I scooped out the ice once I got my drink. There was a LOT of ice. Price wise, I think it rivals BBT shops and is on the pricey side especially considering the cup size is small. 3. Lobster Roll - Very small portion of lobster/imitation crab. I would say its 2 spoonfuls of filling in a large, VERY dense bun. It reminded me of squished bread except it wasn't squished. The ratio of filling to bread was bad. I ended up eating all the filing on only 1 half of the bread since the roll was already cut into 2 pieces of bread. The taste was also most mayo, I wish there was less mayo in the filling and that the bread was buttered. This item was also not value.

I finally had the chance to dine in for their pancakes this past weekend! They had a row of approximately 8 tables for 2s for dine in. We arrived just after noon on the weekend with a party already sat down waiting for their orders and two girls working behind the counter. When one of the staff had got to us, she advised it's approximately a 45 minutes wait for our order. Seeing the 5 food delivery tablets behind the counter, I can understand why. We placed our order, showed our proof of vaccination and ID and took a seat. While waiting, we saw many people picking up orders for delivery. I guess fluffy Japanese pancakes is the perfect start to the weekend! Our pancakes got to our table under the 45 minutes time we were quoted. We got ours in half an hour which was great! I ordered the Raspberry and Caramelized Banana Pancake while my friend ordered the Raspberry Chocolate Lava Pancake. Our orders was quite similar except my friend's came with the chocolate and raspberry sauce on the side while mine was on my pancake already. The raspberry sauce gave it a tart flavour which I really enjoyed! We both got the carmelized bananas and we absolutely loved it! We got 2 nice and fluffy pancakes each, but it wasn't jiggly like the ones we usually see. We weren't particular picky about it when there's only 3 girls working behind the counter (a third staff came in after we placed our order). It's definitely not easy to be accepting orders from 5 delivery apps AND walk in customers on the weekend with only three people!

YELP TIP - check in for a FREE ice cream scoop (green tea/chocolate/or vanilla) Loved the soufflé pancakes here! My friend & I ordered the Blueberry Cheese Pancake ($15.80+tax). The pancakes were big, warm, and had the characteristic light texture! As for the taste, it had a sweet egginess with just the right amount of cheese sandwiched within to give that slight savoury & stringy cheese pull. It was interestingly yummy coupled with the blueberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. The candied lemon added a fun crunch & look, but I personally didn't like the citrus with the already sweet, cheesy & eggy flavours. Overall, I really enjoyed Fuwa Fuwa's Japanese soufflé pancakes. I'm looking forward to trying their Crème brûlée pancake next time :)

Love Japanese pancakes! So light and fluffy and jiggly! This tasted almost exactly the same as when I went to Asia. Lots of different pancake and drink options to choose from.

Popped in on a Friday afternoon at 3. The matcha + red bean pancakes in the photo was $13.95+tax. It's absolutely worth a recommendation - the pancakes were of a nice sponge cake, and despite the various toppings, the sweetness didn't go too far. Decor and service were all solid; it was nice to watch the cake being made in the kitchen. Probably a bit heavy to become a habit, but it's great for a special outing with friends.

Came to Fuwa Fuwa on a weekday night to try some Japanese pancakes. The interior is clean and bright, with slightly more seating at this location then the Downtown one. Ordered the strawberry pancake with chocolate sauce. It was fun to pour the chocolate as it came separately in a little bowl and control how much we wanted it on the pancake. The strawberries were very fresh and pancakes were super fluffy. For drinks, I enjoyed my black sesame latte as it was not too sweet and could taste the black sesame flavour. The staff were very friendly and would often come around asking how everything was. Overall, it is great that they have opened a location uptown and would look forward to coming here again to try their other chocolate-inspired souffle pancake items!

Interesting how they have a different menu from the bloor location! I think all of the menu items satisfy your appetite depending on what you're craving. It's hard to pick a favourite because it depends on my mood. If I were to come here on the regular, I'd get the Matcha White Chocolate Pancake (original pancake, matcha white chocolate sauce, red bean paste, mochi) ($14.30) - mainly because I like white chocolate. The matcha taste is muted in comparison but it still compliments the white chocolate really well. I noticed they make their raspberry sauce in house. It's sour and tart; I like it but my friend doesn't. My favourite drink would be the matcha/black sesame latte (both hot and cold) and the black sugar milk tea ( it tastes like a clear version of milk tea)

Not bad but nothing too special Quite pricey compared to other Japanese pancake spots.

But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

I love the little hole in the wall vibe and the modern look they've done with the space. The staff members were a little on the quiet side and a little tough to hear (and may not have fully understood me?) but were very kind and polite. The pastry selection, while maybe a little on the small side, is absolutely otherworldly in appearance. If I could have taken home one of everything, I absolutely might have. I ended up getting the creme brulee tart, pistachio croissant roll, and the tiramisu latte. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I opened the box later that I got the one cocoa dusted matcha tart instead of the pistachio roll. Oh well, I'm not going to complain too much since, as I said, I was happy with literally anything I got. The creme brulee tart - 10/10 would recommend. Crunchy, flaky tart with creamy creme brulee hit all the right notes of layers of flavor and texture. Mmm, delicious. The matcha tart was decent though I may have been slightly bummed from not getting what I had been expecting. Regardless, another delicious treat, though definitely more on mellower side flavor-wise than the creme brulee. Still good but not quite what I was hoping for. The same went for the tiramisu latte. While I absolutely loved the presentation with the lady fingers on top, it did make it a little difficult to actually get in there and use them with the cup being so full before they got soggy and eventually disintegrated into the drink. The drink itself was OK but again pretty mild on both flavor and sweetness (and I definitely like things a little on the sweeter side). I feel like maybe a sweetened mascarpone whipped topping or something to really cap it off would have finished the look and maybe rounded out the drink a bit. Oh well, maybe next time. All in all, maybe not my go-to coffee shop in town, but definitely a great little place to stop in for a treat or two!
