So I didn't expect for them to have a big selections of flowers to choose from. But I was pleasantly surprised when I walk in, the whole place was full of beautiful flowers and plants to choose from. They have a great selection of colorful orchids and real potted plants. The prices are reasonable too. I would definitely be back to buy more flowers and plants in the future.

Need a newspaper no problem, whatever language you are comfortable with they can accommodate here newspapers come in many different languages. And speaking of different languages the counter people here are proficient in at least 4. There's great fresh hand-picked produce on sale right in the front, also fresh pre-made salads and a selection of chilled beverages. Last week I purchased mangoes and it was dry and kind of sour. Yesterday I bought another one to give it another chance and it was even more dry, so I went to the lady to ask for an exchange and she admit that it was not ripe yet but asked how come I'm the only one complaining. She told me that I can't exchange the next time I choose to buy one and kept saying that I'm the only one who complains. I got so upset that I didn't even want the exchange anymore and walked away, I'm never going back there again. How can they make a mistake by selling non-ripe/low fruits and blame me for complaining? I'm baffled.

Flushing CSA is an easy and affordable way to get local, organic, farm-fresh veggies right in my 'hood. A typical weekly share had 5-7 different types of produce, some regular dietary staples, some weird and delightful. But always top quality and fresh. Having the veggies on hand forces me to eat better. I don't have to think about what to buy or wonder if something is in season or imported, its all just there for me, fresh and at its peak ripeness. And I only need to stock up on pantry staples and some meat (which can be frozen) once in a while, freeing my time and budget from regular grocery shopping, which is great, especially in the summer when my social calendar is bursting!

Their deli section is what makes the place. They have a really good selection of cold cuts and salads, and everything is super fresh. The guys working behind the counter for lightning fast, so even if there is a long line you don't have to wait very long. The quality is very good. Deli aside, they do have some pre-packaged stuff in the aisles, but you're not going to find great deals like you would in a regular supermarket. It's just there for convenience in case you need something quick. Overall, great little market. I would definitely recommend it!

They also carry a number products and brands less commonly found in other Chinese supermarkets. This Skyfoods is one of a few locations, two in Flushing and one in Elmhurst; this one sits on the first floor of the Shops at Skyview on College point Avenue in downtown Flushing. Walking in from the main entrance to the shops this is kinda hidden towards the back of the building. It's nice that it doesn't usually get too crowded. They give free parking in the structure if you shop and buy over $40. What's nice similar to some other larger Asian grocery stores (Hmart, Mitsuwa) is they sometimes do sampling stations on weekends where they showcase a handful of products. My last purchase of a box of Asian pears was because I got to try a couple pieces of sweet fruit so I felt confident in picking up a box. Aside from fresh produce, meat and seafood, dried, canned and packaged foods, they have relatively larger refrigerated foods and tea/drinks and snack sections. See pics of some interesting products. Also for example they carry some instant powdered sweet fruit (jujube, sour plum) teas here I don't find in other places, and for that reason alone I make a trip here every so often.

The dedicated seafood and meat departments are also well-stocked, never saw live eel sold in a grocery store. Being inside the Skyview Center is a huge plus. It's great to be able to hit up BJ's wholesale, TJ Maxx and other stores in the same trip, and the indoor parking garage is a game-changer, especially on bad weather days. Compared to some of the other supermarkets in Flushing, Skyfoods feels noticeably cleaner and brighter. The aisles are well-organized, making it easier to find what you need. Checkout is wonderful, no chatty cashiers, just simple, polite, fast checkout! For a huge, reliable selection in a convenient location, it's a solid four stars. Tip: The hot food section is a lifesaver for a quick and affordable meal. You can get a solid lunch box combo with rice, several dishes, and soup for a great price. It's also always incredibly fast-paced in here for some reason, you'd think you were at a Trader Joe's during rush hour. Also wild that they don't have scanners at checkout and have to punch in prices manually, as if they were a small fruit and vegetable shop. Even though I am not their target customer, I can appreciate that it's still a longstanding mom-and-pop business that's trying to survive with the influx of chain businesses that are rapidly changing the neighborhood.
