We have read some scary reviews about the meat and I am hoping it is not true. We did see proof in the video though. Found all their inventory on raw sauaged expired. I took one of their newly label package and peeled it back. Clealry shows melted manufacture wrap without the original manufacture dates. Then magically their expiration date is 11 days pass the manufacture expired date. Showed this and the images to the manager and was instead asked if I knew how many years he workes meat department and that this is okay. This store should be shut down

It takes place every Sunday from 8am-2pm. The vendors are set up next to MacDonald Park off Queens Blvd, and part of the service road and 70th Ave are closed to cars which makes it nice to stroll through. The greenmarket is open year-round, so even in the winter you can still find items like squash, apples, leafy greens, herbs, eggs, and milk.

They are only open on Sundays so make sure to make it early to get all these great products. My favorite reason to go is to interact with the workers. My favorite employee is Pierina; she would always have a smile on her face and was always available to help. When I didn't have cash, she would help me with the debit and credit tokens. I have not seen her in a while so I am wondering what happened to her since she has been working there every Sunday since I can remember. I will try to locate her at other green markets.

One can find anything from flowers to herbs, spices, fruits, veggies, apple cider, Korean pastes, free samples, vegan baked goods, breads, cookies, fish, duck and other poultry, pig products, beef, assorted mushrooms, tamales (the one closer to 78th street is best, but if you're up for a sweet or dessert tamale, go to the lady on 80th), booze, syrups, honeys, NYC groups that take used clothing and textiles, compost, and a recycling book stand where anyone can take, swap, or donate books. One cool thing about this particular Greenmarket is that there was a book swap and a composting station too. The layout is tight. All the vendors are in a row along the sidewalk, and they take up most of the sidewalk so at times you have to dodge other people, children, bikes, strollers, and dogs. Speaking of dogs, there's a dog run in the adjacent park. Of course, I ended up buying/spending too much, but it was well worth it for the delicious fresh local ingredients!

The first stand, which was closer to Baxter, was huge and had just about everything but their tomatoes looked very basic. So I walked to Kernan Farms and they had 3 beautiful varieties of tomatoes, I ended up getting a large heirloom tomato which was perfect and these really bright and colorful yellow tomatoes. Lastly I stopped at Meredith's Bakery and got an unbleached white loaf of bread and it was really great toasted, perfect for the tomato sandwich. Also, their chocolate chip cookie which was softer than what I prefer for a cookie was surprisingly good. The pumpkin cookie was soft as well but I loved the fall flavors. Prices were completely reasonable other than the one garlic clove that ran me a dollar and a quarter, yet this was initial sticker shock and wore away most expediently. Walking with a total bounty equated to five stuffed bags, I thought about preparation for two purchasef items that remain a mystery, with their stems reaching from beyond the confines of the bags with their stalks reaching out to tge sky. The greenest celery I've ever seen with leaves so true and sturd and reaching with the patch, I'm unsure if it was possible to tear a single stitch upon their armor. Shallots, carrors, red onion, swiss chard, kale -- all that grew within the earths soil were still holding the remnants of their former lair and all with powerful stems of beauty.
