The vendors are set up next to MacDonald Park off Queens Blvd, and part of the service road and 70th Ave are closed to cars which makes it nice to stroll through. This Farmer's Market is fortunately open year round! Most of the same stands are there every time, but there are a few that are only there certain Sundays. It's located in a good neighborhood with a park right next to it so you can stroll through and (not) feed the birds. If you have EBT they can convert it to their currency so you can use it at the produce stands, even giving you bonus currency to spend. A few stands you'll see have fresh dairy products, honey, lavender, soaps, seafood, Mushrooms, turkey, seasonal fruits and vegetables and so much more. Stopped by the Bread Alone stand last Sunday. So glad to hear that this stand is going to be here every Sunday year round! My bf got the seasonal muffin today, which is something I've never tried so I wanted to hop on and write another small review. The seasonal muffin (Dec 2020) was a lemon muffin. We heated it up in the toaster before trying it and the warm interior along with zesty flavor and other christmassy spices warmed my mouth. It reminded me a lot of a muffin version of the Starbucks lemon pound cake -- so fluffy and fresh. This muffin is definitely a lot less sweet than some of their other pastries, so I'd highly recommend it to those who have less of a sweet tooth! read more

It's such a pleasure having a farmers market so close to home. I've often wanted to get some fresh veggies but often worried about commuting home from Union Square with bags of heavy fruit and vegetables so this is great for those who live in Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, and Rego Park. The market is open once a week. You can get fresh veggies (kale, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers), eggs, fresh bread, seafood, fruit, and meats. The market is bit small compared to those in Manhattan and Brooklyn but it's perfect for grabbing the essentials for a weeks worth of food. I left with a giant bundle of kale ($2/bunch), some wonderful peaches (mango peaches), warm whole wheat bread ($5) corn (2 stalks for $1) and tomatoes. If you live in the area stop by before winter and get some pesticide free veggies. read more

Love this farmer's market! Beautiful selection of fresh fruits and veggies. Also the bread stand is mouth watering. You must try their Lemon Currant Scone. The market has vendors with fresh fish, meats, cheeses and pickles! Just got some delicious jalapeño garlic pickles today. And raw honey. A little bit of everything exists at this green market. This green market is not one of the larger ones, there generally isn't more than one vendor of any given speciality, butthere is a little bit of everything here. Fresh dairy, vegetables, cheeses, organic meat, fresh turkey, seafood, and bread are some of the standard fare available at this market. The shopping can be kinda tough during peak times, with long lines and tight shopping lanes but if you get here early you'll have a far better shopping experience and more choices. There isn't much parking nearby as free Sunday parking rules pretty much make finding a spot tough close by. read more

This october 2021 numerous vendors are selling items such as eggs,bread beef even fresh fish,candles,hand rolled cigars, spices,clothing, scissors,handbags,flowers. You name it....t's probably here. Honestly what is not to love? This started off as a smallish Farmers Market but it has now grown to be a VERY good one. It is open every Sunday of the year 8-3 but don't get there at 3 and expect to get much. My favorites are Garden of Eve (organic produce from Riverhead), Goodale Farms (Dairy and Produce from Suffolk), American Seafood (fresh caught off of Long Island), B & Y Farms (All sorts of Organic meats) and Ronnybrook Dairy. Goodale Farms - Must try the Feta and Mozzarella. American Seafood - Everything is fresh and there is a big taste difference between what you get here and at a fish store. We get the scallops almost religiously at this point. B & Y Farms - Not cheap but well worth it. The meats are all super fresh. We love their Red Meat and Sausage but they have a large variety. read more

To have a greenmarket right across the street from home (although calling Queens Boulevard a street is underestimating its breadth) is a luxury that I never even considered when I moved to the area. Yet here I am, and there it is. And even better, GrowNYC's Forest Hills location for a greenmarket is one of the year-round ones, open every Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Relatively small but well-represented, with dairy, vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, honey, wine, jams, pickles, cheeses, breads and baked goods. Seasonally, there may be yarn, horseradish, and mushrooms. A favorite is Ronnybrook for delicious yogurts and yogurt drinks, butters, and a surprisingly wide range of ice cream flavors (e.g. coconut, ginger, blueberry, toasted hazelnut, raspberry, etc). Terhune Orchards has delicious and well-priced apple pies. Red Jacket has more than just fresh apples, apple juices, and ciders in their arsenal (hint, the apricot stomp is fantastic). Blue Oyster Cultivation has gorgeous oyster mushrooms, although they just happen to not be there when I needed them! (proof that I haven't learned to shop a greenmarket yet). And you might not even notice Dipaola's sausages are made from turkey. As a small neighborhood greenmarket, its a neighborhood crowd that is shopping and browsing. Space can be tight, traffic very slow-moving, but its awesome to see the locals out and many are quite friendly. Located on the corner of Queens Boulevard (south side) at 70th Avenue, the vendor stands essentially surrounding the US Postal Service branch there. Look for the pointed white tent tops. read more

Not a huge market compared to others, but there are loads of items to satisfy. Lots of produce to choose from; kale, onions, berries, lettuce, corn....the list goes on. There are also baked goods, meat, local honey, juices, and more. I just love coming home and making dinner using all the fresh ingredients, it makes such a difference to the flavor of your meals. The market runs every Sunday through the end of the year. It's a great reason to break out those shopping totes and check it out. read more

We caught the tail-end of the Greenmarket this past Sunday but were lucky enough to discover Divine Brine Pickles! These pickles are Incredible! Jalapeno My FAV. Crunchy, sweet yet ends with a fiery bite. Reminds me on Pickle Me Petes "Sweet Chipotle" (my current #1 Fav Pickle). Wasabi I keep referring to this as horseradish because he's sweet, tangy - a lil honey mustardy almost with a kick. But it's actually Wasabi and Boy is it GOOD! Horseradish Although this is fantastic and I would easily buy a bucket of this, the prior two flavors blows this out of the water! Honey Hot Bread & Butter Insanely Spicy. Little mushy, prefer the Jalapeno Pickles This place didn't make me think twice about buying. Usually I'm there sampling going Ummmm... should I buy a quart? This place was like - Gimme 3 for $22! This is a very specific review regarding one vendor...The fish monger...Walking by the market I noticed a young lady laying out trays of fish filets directly behind the idling van...Plumes of exhaust fumes were permeating the fish (a different type of smoking)...I engaged her and said that the handling was not right...She said sorry but it is 2 degrees so we keep the van running...A very flippant response...I wonder if unsuspecting purchasers would find that acceptable...A breach of trust and blatant disregard for the customers!!...I would certainly stay away. read more

I love the bread stand which has tons of amazing breads & pastries to choose from. There are also tons of great fruit & veggies here. I look forward to the full array of yummy and fresh produce, as well as the FISH from the awesome fish monger. I have no complaints at all - everything is awesome. I love the mushroom vendor, the pickle guy, the honey, the salad greens/vegetables, the fresh fruit, the cheese, the bakeries, and the wine. This place has it all! It's about time that Forest Hills finally got a weekly Farmers Market! This market is located right on Queens Blvd, in the local street just outside the Post Office. The Post office is closed on Sunday's so great use of the block. Go to the vegetable stand on the corner, across from Bui Bella. Search through the corn and find only the good ones with no missing kernels. The sweetest corn every week. Trust me on this. Good find with the other vendors too, I finally found my Cinderella Pumpkin this year. The apple pie from the apple orchard (forget it's name), is awesome they use whole sliced apples that keep their form and it's a simple pie. Apples, great crust, and a little bit of lemon juice for a tartness. Not too sweet. I hope they return every spring. Right now they're schedule is EVERY SUNDAYS just after July 4th through November. read more

it's pretty awesome that we now have a small farmer's market in Forest Thrills. in Union Square, you always gotta fight your way past the Causeheads, and Jeremy Piven is not always around to save you! there's a solid mix of produce, baked goods, meat, seafood, honey/preserves/jams/jellies/syrup, and even alcohol. prices are fair and the vendors are pretty friendly. all of them come in from the greater metropolitan area or upstate NY. a fair amount of the stuff is organic, free-range, etc. - if that tickles your pickle. this was the first season they've had it, on Sundays from 8 AM to 3 PM, and it's ending November 18. I have a good feeling it'll return next year, as it's always busy. your best bet is to get there by 1 PM. read more

I'm obsessed with farmers markets. Love them. Love giving my money directly to the growers, even if it clears out my bank account every time I visit! This is the closest of the Greenmarkets to me so I try to hit it up at least once every two weeks. If I lived closer and if the prices were cheaper, I would for SURE be here every Sunday! You'd think that since there is no middle man that the prices would be less expensive! Honestly, I really don't care about that because the quality of the vendors here is excellent! No matter if it's early morning or almost closing time @ 3, it's always very crowded! Lots of rude people bumping into you and shoving. That really tests my patience! American Seafood sells out fairly quickly. They are always leaving early because they have no product left so get there super early if you want the freshest seafood. I really like Bread Alone. I've been buying from them for a while now. The lemon orange cranberry pound cake is to die for! The guy who runs the stand though could be a bit more customer friendly. He clearly saw me standing there but paid me no mind because he was gossiping with the vendor next to him. Divine Brine has the best wasabi pickles that I've ever had. My favorite vendor has to be Red Jacket Orchards. Their apples and juices are simply THE BEST!! I also love the Ronnybrook Farm Dairy stand but the two guys running it seemed spaced out. Couldn't answer a question of how one cheese tasted and couldn't give correct change. Nolasco's Farm has the best prices for produce. I wish I could remember which vendor I bought fresh corn from because it was the sweetest, most delicious corn that I've ever had! read more

The only reason I haven't assigned a 5* rating is because the market is small and limited. However, I have reason to believe it will expand as the season moves on so I look forward to updating the status. Otherwise, I have to say I totally dig this local - and green - fresh produce/goods spot in Forest Hills. It's early in the season, I know, but this has been the "go-to" spot for me and my husband after hitting the gym (on the corner), getting Belgian waffles (on the next corner) and doubling back for some locally grown/produced goods. The vendors are all super friendly and highly knowledgeable about their wares. You can get honey from Andrew's Local Honey from very specific areas like Union Square, Brooklyn and of course, spots in Queens. I'm also a fan of the Ronneybrook Farms vendor. I get their fresh milk and when I return with the empty bottle I get a nice discount on the next bottle ($1.50 OFF!). There's also another dairy vendor where I get fresh eggs and the most delicious fresh cheeses. Oh my. I can't wait to see what else moves in as the season progresses. read more

I LOVE that for the last couple years Forest Hills has had a farmers' market! I always try to come on the early side, before all the hagglers and double stroller-pushers arrive. My favorites are the heirloom tomatoes, perfectly ripe eggplant, corn in the husk, purple broccoli, and the crazy-colored peppers. In the fall, the apples are super crisp and divine. Okay and I can never resist at least one purchase from the Bread Alone stand...the ciabatta loaf is particularly heavenly ;) The only head-scratcher is that every single cashier at each tent says to me "do you want a bag?" No, I'd like to carry these three tomatoes and four peppers home in my hands. I might love the idea of farmers' markets and local produce but I'm not crunchy enough to carry those biodegradable totes.. I've never sampled them, but there's also wine, honey, fresh juices, fish, and meat. Wish this place was around a few years ago when I lived in the Yellowstone Blvd part of Forest Hills. read more

In addition, some vendors have products like jams, pickles, soap, hand-dyed yarn, and baked goods. While some accept credit cards, be prepared to bring cash.
