Came here after staying at the Dream Hotel which is around the corner. The ambiance, the low lighting and bar gave speakeasy. My friend and I got a few rounds of drinks. The funny thing is we did not know by the bar there was a speed dating event. Lol the bartender was good and made custom drinks for us. Will definitely go back when in town

Cute. Nice speakeasy/underground vibe! Enjoyed the Marko. Did not enjoy the marquis de Sade. I would go back.

There is really no place quite like Flute. It used to be an actual speakeasy back in the 1920's called Club In Time and is one of 3 lounges that still operate as a lounge from that time still 100 years later in NYC! It's in the basement level, and as you might guess from it's name it's a champagne bar, with various flight offerings in addition to bottles and glasses and champagne inspired cocktails, which are delicious! My favorite is the champagne mojito, which is served in a large glass! They also have some light boîtes and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. They have jazz night on Wednesdays and DJ's sometimes. I have been coming here for several years now and it's one of my favorite places in all of NYC! If you haven't been, it's a must, and if you've been, don't forget to revisit it! ;) PS. They also did some nice renovations recently, too!

Came here for a work event. I love the low-lit, small/side seating atmosphere. We had booked a Resy but it looked like they had plenty of spots open on a Thursday night but this is in a tourist-y area so you never know. If you're a big lover of champagne than this is a fun place to come. They offer champagne flights which are a pretty good deal in order to taste a few different selections. Everyone on my team enjoyed our drinks but the service could definitely be an area of improvement. Multiple times when we wanted to order more we had to crane our necks trying to make eye contact. Not sure if they were just trying to give us space to talk but i definitely wish they had touched our table more during our visit. Overall a nice experience and I would come again. A nice spot for a date or to bring visitors! 4.3/5

In midtown hell, Flute is a DIAMOND in the rough!!! Super cute speak easy vibes. Come here with your boo, come here with your girls and have a grand old time. My fav is the Antoinette, chefs kiss. The guys here are so nice

Come through you won't regret. Extensive drink menu, intimate seating for dates or group hangout. Service is decent.

Did you know the sexy champagne bar located down a short flight of steps was once an actual speakeasy? Texas Guinan's prohibition era nightclub once sat vacant for many years but has been beautifully restored to showcase some of its history. Once you know a bit about the history of this bar it makes it that much more special. There are hidden speakeasy touches throughout that you can enjoy as you get comfy in one of their cozy alcoves. The red velvet decor and dark, moody lighting add to the ultra-sexy feel here. Drinks are very well made and although they are midtown Manhattan prices you'll only need one. Sign up for their emails to find out about upcoming events.

When in the mood for a speakeasy ambiance with a side of champagne, Flute in Midtown is the place to go! The music was also great! Friendly staff helped us choose our champagne when our first choice was unavailable.

This is a lounge in which I must visit. The elegance and ambiance is capturing and I'll be sure to spend a night out with my friends here sometime soon.

    Magic at the flute

What a great speakeasy bar, perfect for intimate dates. The service by the bartenders (they don't have servers all the staff are bartenders on the floor and behind bar) are phenomenal and well versed. They also have small food plates and sharing components you can pair with champagne I suggest the flute magic tower. I came in again and saw half the place having an event you won't expect. So this place is great for hosting corporate and team building events. Do recommend 100%

    Cheers!

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Would definitely recommend to visit if you like gothic stuff and tiki bars.

Dim lighting, plush seating, rich wood + wallpaper details, and that lounge-library vibe make the place feel like a secret hideout right in the middle of Midtown. It's moody, cozy, and effortlessly intimate -- perfect for a date night, a chill catch-up, or just a night out with good drinks. Nice service, too! However: be ready for the price tag. The cocktails are absolutely beautiful -- well crafted, creative, and flavorful -- but each one will remind you that you're not exactly paying dive-bar prices. It's worthwhile, but the "overpriced drinks" vibe absolutely hits. That said: the interior design and ambience are amazing. The mix of antique-meets-modern decor, low lighting, and comfy couches gives you that classic speakeasy romance. If you appreciate aesthetics and vibe over cheap drinks -- this is your spot. If you want a night out that feels deliberate and special rather than casual and cheap -- Osamil Upstairs delivers.

There were a few martini options I had my eye on, and with happy hour, I was able to pick 3 as part of the mini martini flight, a huge score. I got the cornstar, espresso, and Chelsea martinis. The espresso martini was fine, but I'd skip it for another one next time. The cornstar and Chelsea on the other hand were amazing. Would've loved to have either of these in a full size version. Everyone else in the group also liked all of the drinks they got. I got an aviation after happy hour and liked this one too, but the martinis were still my favorite. To eat we ordered the Whipped ricotta and French fries (asked for no truffle), both were great! Overall it's a cool vibey spot with great drinks and some good shareable plates! My only two gripes with the spot were - they didn't acknowledge my birthday, even with a happy birthday from my server or the hostess. I am not sure why Resy prompted me to indicate the occasion if it wouldn't even be acknowledged or looked at. It obviously feels good to feel celebrated, so they dropped the ball in this regard. The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving! I would come back for more of a going out event instead of a sit down dinner, but it's a cool spot!
