This place is really big and spacious.. when I first pulled in parking lot I was greeted by the big sign on side of building.. what's kinda funny is it feels so far from the busy streets of Wilmington but actually it's on Randall parkway .. road that connects to college ! It was a quiet time around 245 only 2 folks in.. the sweet bartender was ready to let me try anything I wanted but I chose to do a flight.. I was happy with my choices! One even reminded me of like a corona with lime.. very light and hint of lime. .. so there is lots of seating inside.. but I really wanted outside so that's what I did.. sipped my 4 choices and took in the shade at table outside.. if I had thought of it I would have gotten food to bring or something and hung out longer because it's a pretty cool spot! read more

Hit this place up on a Saturday in November in nice weather at about 2 pm and it was hoppin'!!(pun intended). Lots of beers to choose from across all styles and prices are the norm for Wilmington and other craft breweries. Think about 7 bucks a beer plus tax with higher prices for higher ABV brews. They had an inside and outside bar both going at the same time and also had a food truck out front. Lots of parking, but it was so busy that getting a place to park was a bit of a competition. Tv's were playing college football games all over the place inside, but it was very loud so we found a nice spot upstairs and outside on the balcony. Very nice for people watching and enjoying the weather out there. Plenty of available tables, but lots of people there too. WiFi was strong and free just like 'merica! Nothing at all wrong with this place, but the beers didn't wow me and it was difficult getting a parking spot, so that's why it's 3 stars, not 4. Went here for a Scottish event. The place was nice and clean. I tried a new beer electronic Fog (grapefruit) which was pretty good and close to a shanty. They had a nice variety of styles including a big old double ipa that I loved. The cocktail menu looked awesome. I need to go back just to try some of those. The food was impressive. Like really impressive. You'd never guess that menu and quality came from a brewing company. I was able to try whiskey deviled eggs, hot pimento cheese dip, and cast iron shrimp for appetizers. All were exceptional. Those whiskey deviled eggs were absolute game changers. For the main course I went in for the Flying Machine burger with sweet potato fries. One of the best burgers I've ever had! The beer cheese, candied bacon, and onion worked with a nice juicy burger and warm bun to create an experience! Sweet, salty, juicy, crunchy, savory...it all happens in every bite. This may be my favorite burger ever ever. Like ever ever. For real. The service was great. We had a large party celebrating a retirement and our whole table was served quickly and kindly with consistency throughout the evening. Maybe the only downfall is it can get pretty loud in there. I always enjoy going to Flying Machine as their facility is large and people aren't sitting on top of each other. The beer menu is on a very large screen along a wall. There were about 10-15 beers to choose from, so I'm betting everyone can find something. Flights aren't available right now, but when they are they're served in cool looking wheel gears. They could really stand to add more umbrellas outside. There are picnic tables, but not much shade. read more

I love this place! From the beer to the atmosphere this place is fantastic! Stopped in again tonight for a flight an dinner. Grabbed a flight of Bag Lunch, Starling, Dreamy eyes and Nightfall on Lager Mountain. The star of the show for me was the lunch bag. It's a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a can. Light tasty and super crushable. The venue is fantastic plenty of seating inside and out. You can regularly find a food truck in the parking offering a bite to eat with your beer. One cool aspect of the location is that's is sitting right on Wilmingtons across City trail making this brewery within biking distance anywhere that has access to the trail. I live in Ogden and feel I could easily get here by bike. read more

The beer here is some of my favorite in Wilmington. The reason for four stars is that they tend to be understaffed. So, they have had slow but courteous service each time I've visited. On my most recent visit, I got the Landbier, States of Sky, Volksbeir, and Breakfast with Pegasus. The first three beers were light, drinkable, and not too complex. The Breakfast with Pegasus was such a curveball and I loved it. It tasted like pancakes and ice cream, without being too sweet. On my previous visit, I had gotten a flight of all the "eclectic" beers and that was a great time. Their brewers are so creative and there really is something for everyone. One afternoon, my friend and I both ordered a flight and tasted each of the eight beers. There are four beers to a flight. We then created our own personal rankings and talked about why we liked/didn't like each one. If you have a date with a beer snob coming up, I would highly recommend doing this activity. We also played UNO after, since they have board games. This place is dog and kid friendly. They also tend to have food trucks during busy times. Also, the space is huge and there is plenty of seating. So, I've never had an issue getting a table. The industrial decor is well-executed. There are lots of gear-inspired things. My husband and I belong to a beer club in Brunswick Forest. This month we met at the Flying Machine Brewing Company. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but most breweries in the area also serves wine. We were a very large group so it was pretty noisy inside. It's a very large open space along with outside seating, to include an upstairs outside seating. There was a food truck for the group. I had not been to Flying Machine since the pandemic began, but had some really good memories from when we went. We decided when we were on that side of town, to stop with some friends to grab some drinks. This was an early afternoon and we were some of the first people to arrive when they open. Some things in the inside have slightly changed since they reopened but overall it is the same spacious feel. They have a giant projector that has all their drafts on it and I went ahead and decided to go with a flight since I could not decide what to get. They have a lot of seating options both inside and outside. They do have an upstairs outside seating area and one on the ground level. The blonde twig was incredibly unpleasant from the moment we walked in the door. We asked for a flight of beer and she said responded with an attitude. We purchased a 4- pack of beer on a separate tab and when checking out we left no tip on this second tab she says out loud "wow, that's messed up!" What is this world coming to, man. We were visiting Wilmington and I asked the waiter to bring me his favorite local beer and it was great. When he told me the brewery was nearby I had to check it out. When we pulled up there were a lot of cars so I expected the brewery to be crowded but it wasn't. They have outdoor seating and inside is a large but inviting space. The place had a nice vibe. They had the Braves playoff game on one TV and Hockey on the other. Even though the games were on it didn't overpower the place because there were plenty of people just chatting and enjoying their drinks. We sat at the bar and were immediately greated by one of the bartenders. She asked us had we been there before and helped us pick out some beers based on what we liked. I went with a flight and my wife had a sour. The other bartender was also friendly and chatted with us as well. They offered recommendations of restaurants and things to check out in Wilmington. I wish we were staying longer but we will definitely be back. I have been to breweries that the bartenders are beer snobs or if you aren't a local you don't feel welcome. I loved the space and variety of beer at Flying Man. The bartender took great care of us too. Flight no. 1- Mozi's Kite, Electra, Hollow Bones and Obedience to Ritual. Flight no. 2- Aerodome no 5, Broadwick, Governable Parachutes and Park Ghost. I also got to try a few sips of the Otto's Glider. My favorites were the Mozi's Kite (a NEIPA) and Otto's Glider (a sweet stout). This brewery is definitely one that you should check out while in Wilmington. read more

Love, love, love this place! Officially my second favorite brewery now in Wilmington! When this place was set up and built, they did it right. No corners cut on equipment or facilities and an excellent team of brewers! The space is cavernous and has an amazing second floor deck with great views plus a nice outdoor space on the first floor. I love that they have the beer menu projected movie screen size on the wall - makes it so easy to plan what's next. The bartenders here are so chill that it's frozen. All three made their friendly presences know and chatted a bit - just on their A game all around. Really enjoyed Dan-O (spelling??) - totally rad dude who knows his beer. Now the beer - My flight: Obedience to Ritual ( NE DIPA), Electra (MA IPA), Governable Parachutes (IPL) and my absolute favorite Mozi's Kite (NE IPA). All of them were just really clean, delicious, skillfully made beers but that Mozi's - holy crap it's good! I had more of that and a taste some of their Rasberry LZ1 Berliner Weisse and Cask Landsbier with Blood Orange and Citra - two more crazy good beers. Beer is for the most part good but I think they should let people know when a beer is no longer on tap and they only have it in the can and when you question them about it, they say honestly it taste the same. Went on a date to Flying Machine over the holidays. We had delicious Thai from the food truck parked outside, and then tried several of their beers; they were great! My favorite was the Mozi's Kite Juice IPA; my date loved the Polar Byrd. They played all the football (bowl) games on at the time and apparently also play soccer games when they're on. We can't wait to come back and try more beers/watch the next Premier League games. Also, dog friendly (we sat next to the cutest puppy). read more

The bartender followed me into the parking lot like a psycho, to say that she was going to call the police. after she served me 5 beers in 3 hours..... a 20 % tip to drive to my apartment at forest hills reserve. I've read your statement on your plans for the wilmington community ambitous but your tenders may be letting you down.
