We're so glad we discovered The Flying Pig! Since our first visit just a few months ago, we've already been back multiple times, and it's quickly become one of our favorite local spots. We were actually hesitant to try it at first because it's attached to the Limerick Diner, which we've never really been fans of. Fortunately, aside from sharing the same building, they're two completely separate restaurants with their own menus and atmosphere. Every meal we've had has been excellent. Between our visits, we've tried the burgers, pizza, mac and cheese, cheesesteak egg rolls mozzarella sticks, and tacos, and everything has been consistently delicious. It's always hard deciding what to order because we've enjoyed everything we've tried. Also a bonus that they offer a gluten free pizza crust for my wife. Portion sizes are generous and we certainly don't walk out hungry (and most times with a to-go box)! The service deserves just as much praise as the food. Every server we've had has been friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. One small thing I really appreciate is that they serve drinks in large glasses, so you're not constantly waiting on or asking for refills. They also do a great job with events and specials. We've attended their Bingo night twice now, and it's a lot of fun. If you're planning to go, I'd recommend arriving early because it's a popular event. Tables in the main dining area, where the bingo takes place, fill up quickly. Great food, consistently excellent service, and fun events keep us coming back. If you haven't given The Flying Pig a try yet, don't let its connection to the diner fool you--it's definitely worth a visit. read more

Very good food at a chill spot. I ordered the veggie tacos and they had great flavor. Took a bite out of the cheesesteak and it was also really good, not greasy at all and on great bread. Service was friendly. It was a bit crowded but they were still very attentive and communicative on wait times which was appreciated! It was super cold inside because the door kept opening and it was windy 30 degree weather so I would recommend dressing warm when it's cold out! read more

First visit yesterday afternoon. Long overdue. We sat out on the patio with the Phillies game on the TV. 2 large TVs out in the space with just one actually on. Joe took great care of us during our visit. The place wasn't overly busy. Nice menu with a few specials. He suggested the homemade mozzarella sticks and they were fantastic. Huge and not overly salted or spiced. Fresh mozzarella. Craft beer list is decent. Something for everyone. $8/pints. I decided on one of their specials, Spanakopita or spinach pie. It was humongous and very tasty. A bit salty but incredible flavor and piping hot upon arrival. No dessert and never felt ignored or rushed. Would gladly return to this spot. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat lunch with our three little kiddos. This place was such a hit for our family!! It had the feel of a cozy diner but also such great food. The kids got the breakfast deluxe and the grilled cheese sandwich. The food portions were so huge! We brought a good amount home with us. The pancakes were extra soft with such a great taste. We were able to substitute the bacon for chicken sausage which was cooked just right! The grilled cheese had fries with it and it looked so yummy. The kids ate a lot which is saying that this place was awesome. I got the bourbon chicken wrap & sweet potato fries! This was phenomenal!! I was able to add coleslaw & pickles! The fries tasted crisp but cooked just right. Everyone at the table tried a sweet potato fries and enjoyed it! My husband got the Tuscan omelette with home fries. Nothing was left on the plate for his meal. The service was so fast and our waitress was so sweet. The place was clean and had a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend if you are looking for awesome tasting food that is either breakfast or lunch any time of the day. We will be back when we are in the area. read more

I was looking for a place that had a good draft beer selection and decent food. I also needed a place that I could take my two teenagers. We figured we'd give this place a try even though in my head it was just an extension of Limerick Diner. Everything ended up great with our experience. We were seated quickly (5 PM on a Saturday during a Phillies game). Our waitress was quick to greet us, and was attentive throughout our meal. The food was great, so no complaints there. Overall, the place was small and felt completely separate from the diner. I believe I counted 11 TVs, so watching sports should never be a problem (10 of them had the Phillies game on while we were there). There was a DJ playing while we were there, so it was a bit louder than I would have liked, but I quickly zoned out the music. Definitely worth visiting again. read more

I really want to love this place. The location is great. The problem is it just isn't good. The food is mediocre and the wings are awful. The salads aren't bad but who really wants a salad in a bar? We enjoyed trivia but then they changed the guy. Then we liked the new guy, and they got rid of him too. The drinks were ok, but they seem super stingy for the price. Really impressed tonight on my first visit here. Solid gastropub menu (burgers, wings, sandwiches, comfort food entrees) with a good beer selection and nice cocktail offering. We had the cheesesteak egg rolls as an app and I had the Italian chicken cutlet. Portion size, presentation and flavor were all great. The staff, especially our waiter Joseph were all very friendly and helpful. I was also pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere(this shares the kitchen and side of the Limerick diner but with its own entrance and dining room as well as a patio which they are considering enclosing). Not impressed. The place had the A/C cranking. Was very cold inside. We had to get sweatshirts out of the car. Serving food on wood cutting boards is a health hazard. They looked old and cracked. Waitress was not even close to being attentive. She gave us drinks, took our order, then came for the check. Never checked in on us during the meal. And the place had only four tables taken, so it wasn't busy. read more

Great atmosphere and the bartender was attentive. Sound and lighting level was good. I ordered an old fashioned and my husband had a beer. He ordered the pulled pork and I had a pizza. He liked his sandwich. My pizza was a little under cooked and you could tell by the crust. Taste was good and tomorrow it will be ok after the air fryer. I would still try it again. One of the worst experiences I've had at a bar. Waited 15 minutes for a menu. When someone finally came to take our order (after About 25 minutes), they got the drink order wrong. I never did get my drink. We finally decided to leave and went next door and had a nice meal at the diner. It was Sunday evening and it wasn't crowded, yet we still couldn't get decent service. Nobody seemed to care. Very disappointing. read more

My husband, a friend and I went on a whim to the Flying Pig not expecting much of anything. WRONG! The food was actually amazing. I got a pizza with a cauliflower crust, cheese and pepperoni. The best ever! My husband loved his sizzling hot fajitas. Portions were large and we took home left overs for dinner. The bartender/server was so friendly and nice. A very nice clean place with a terrific bar and plenty of tv's. Servers and bartenders are friendly. The food is going to be their greatest challenge. We were impressed with the mozzarella sticks. Light crispy and creamy mozzarella. Buffalo wings dried out after the 2nd wing and flavor was average at best. Bacon cheeseburger bland. Chili looked good in presentation but lacked good flavor and actually got my wife sick when we got home. The toppings on the pizza were all pilled up in the center of the pizza so when you pulled a slice out, all the cheese with the toppings slid off and the crust was floppy. The dough is obviously frozen and that's fine for a bar/restaurant but they made need a new supplier or they won't be serving too many more pizzas unless people are just hungry and drunk. I would love for this place to succeed. Been here twice now. I will probably give them another chance sometime in the future to see if they worked out the kinks. read more

I can't even put the way I feel into words. At first the vibe was great and the restaurant is very cute inside. We got our drinks quickly and were able to place an appetizer. After that we never saw our waitress again. Other tables that were seated didn't even get drinks for 20 minutes. Another table complained, rightfully so, and a different waitress very arrogantly and rudely was "apologizing" to a customer. This caused a scene and got the manager involved, who did absolutely nothing but call the police. We never got to order our meals, and we couldn't even get the waitress' attention to pay in order to leave. This place is a nightmare and doesn't seem to have enough staff, even though there a few guys just standing around doing nothing. The cheesesteak eggroll appetizer was very good but I wish I could've actually tried a burger. When we finally got to pay, we waited again and at this point were worried our card had been taken, so we had to go up to the bar to retrieve it. read more

Ambiance is cute and fun, albeit small. Lots of TVs for sports fans, but the food needs work. For dinner we had the crispy chicken sandwich and onion rings. Unfortunately, the food was not good as the breading was heavy and tasteless. We also had fajitas and they had the same issues~very little flavor. I will say I had been there previously and had appetizers only and they were better than the meals we chose tonight. Hopefully they work these issues out because it could be a neat place! read more

was there a few days ago. looked cute. then food and drinks started to be delivered. friend ordered a promoted special mule. didn't taste right they did not have ginger beer so used ginger ale why not just say we don't have that tonight? ordered another special drink advertised on menu that had blackberry brandy in it ex other had no blackberry brandy so gin was substituted it did not taste good. if you go there stick with beer. now onto the food. special grilled cheese sandwich with no cheese in it. just a white sauce over three large pieces of Texas toast. we just left it. wings were good but friend had a roast beef sandwich with hardly any beef. it appears they have cash flow issues. don't go there. for $300 bill we stopped at McDonald's on the way home read more
