The burgers were as good as any mom and pop places I frequented on west coast, with a few variations on sauces. Fries were hand cut and worthy of the extra star I gave. Good friendly service. The building has been there a while and could use a little freshing up but it reminded me of burger shacks in my past. We will be back to try other dishes on the menu. (Lots of choices) read more

I walked on for 1st visit, young waitress at counter, she didn't even acknowledge me,she came over to table, didn't smile,barely spoke ,no bedside manner, had a personality of a House Plant! A family of eight came in, sat down and they placed their order immediately. They received their order before we did. We were in there close to two hours. I will never go in there again. I have been to Hill Top many times in the past and enjoyed the food and service. Today when we went it didn't take long for our orders to be taken and the food to be made as we saw it on the counter after the chef plated it and then rang the bell. Our server walked past the food several times and even stared directly at it at one point. i waited 10 minutes and watched as she I guess had no clue the food was there having a good time on her phone before deciding I don't want cold food. read more

My party of 6 were in the area and were searching for restaurants to stop at because we were really hungry. We luckily found this hidden gem on Yelp and decided to go here. The outer appearance looks like an old drive in and it made you feel like you were in a time warp. When you enter the building, the tables, chairs and decor inside the building seemed to need an update and looked like it was still stuck in a time warp as well. There were blackboards with the menu and they had a nice selection of burgers, fries, hot dogs, chicken fingers, milkshakes, soda and they even had ice cream. I ended up getting a hot dog and fries for my daughter and a cheese burger meal for myself. The food was really good. My daughter also wanted an ice cream cone, so she had a mint chocolate chip on a cone, which she really enjoyed. I would go back if I was ever in the area again. read more

This place has been here for ages. We finally decided we needed to try it out. They serve Hershey's ice cream and have standard drive-in fare. The service was super friendly and accommodating. Some of the ice cream flavors were totally new to me, including Superman, a fruity combinations of blue, red and yellow. Hilltop Breakfast Lunch and Pizza is literally the most disgusting establishment. The one owner insists on making all of his high school waitresses cry because he gets off on bullying them and calling them out of their names. They only hire teenage girls to be waitresses, pay them $3 an hour even though they are also cleaning the entire restaurant at the end of their shift. They withhold their money, one girl has been waiting to be paid for three weeks and the other for three days. They get no official break and a $10 food allowance, even though not one actual meal is $10 and Charges them for condiments. When the kitchen staff that is all related to them messes up on an order, they take the meal out of their waitresses checks. The same waitresses that already aren't getting a tip because the kitchen staff messed up. Today I caught the one owner clapping his hands at my daughter like she was a dog because she didn't move fast enough. He expects them to run around the restaurant while him and his friends eat huge pasta platters and drink Modelos for an hour...for free. A former student quit because he called her a @!tch. He made the other waitress cry tonight. He has one of the girls working from 7am to 9pm and she is in high school. It was so bad today that another customer also cursed him out because she saw how he was treating them. He's a big, grown man. Thankfully my daughter and the two other waitresses who also happen to be students at my school quit tonight. I hope the things I said to him let him know that not everybody is going to turn the other cheek. Interestingly enough the energy he has for little girls, he doesn't have for adults. Go figure. I could see it in his eyes how angry he was, but he saw my son in the car waiting for him to lose his mind. When you support that business you are supporting an establishment that violates child labor laws and lacks decency for the TEEN GIRLS who work in that hostile environment this owner has created. They are both at fault because the other owner lets it happen. If you disagree and believe they are great people it's because they want your money. If they can't get anything from you they don't care about you. Do not let your daughters work there. Addition to original post: Then I find out they have parties after hours with alcohol and invite the girls to go. They borrowed $1000 from an employee, who was also a teen, and took 9 months to pay her back. He also threatens to make the girls work in the back if they can't stop crying. If you refuse to mop, you pay the guys in the back to do it. They also allow the girls to be subjected to sexual harassment from patrons because "the customer is always right." Please do not let your daughters ever work in this establishment. It is literally unsafe. read more

This place is a flashback to the 50's. It was so interesting to dine here as there really aren't many places like this still operating. The menu is simple and relatively inexpensive. I was impressed how clean the place was as it had definitely never been remodeled. I decided on the 4 piece chicken meal and it came with fries & a biscuit. I enjoyed the chicken as it was not greasy at all . The biscuit was surprisingly good and the Cole slaw was just ok . If I am in the area I would like to try some of their other items but probably won't go out of my way to go there. It looks like their ice cream is good so maybe I will try a milk shake some time. read more

This restaurant was closed for awhile & opened under new people. We stopped for lunch and it is now more like a diner. I had a very tasty Cheesesteak with onions, peppers, mushrooms and my choice of cheese was mozzarella. It was served on a warm soft roll and was delicious. My friend said her burger was cooked perfectly for her and a delicious soft roll. It was served with fresh cut potatoes and seasoned and had a nice crunch. All the food was served hot. The owner came over to make sure all was well. Definitely will go back to try their breakfast and dinners. read more

The staff here was really nice and patient when we took forever deciding what ice creams to try. There are a lot of flavors and options for sundaes. Definitely enjoyed the food, too- burgers, chicken and fries are all tasty. It's not fine dining, just good old fashioned home cooking. My burger had a weird taste to it, not like a meaty taste,but like a "cookie cutter" greasy taste. My fries were tired and the soda does come with free refills A very nice lady introduced herself as the new owner(s) and said she was keeping most of the recipes and items as before. This is NOT a review of the restaurant as a whole, but of the service. Where do I start? Let's start and end with the waitress (young girl, hair in a bun, I think that she had glasses, seemed crabby, i.e. no smiles). Ok. This is my first time ever eating here. I brought my kids there for dinner. We came on Wednesday night about 7:30. Not busy, yet it took out server about 5-7 minutes to get to us. Fine. Literally worst waitress that I've ever had. I'll make a list of her inept service... 1. I ordered "Spinach and cheese Calzone". She comes back and says "Sorry. We discontinued the kale salad". Huh? This girl was either dumb, deaf, far from another planet. 2. My daughter ordered a burger without onions. The waitress even repeated it back. The burger came WITH onions. 3. My son ordered the kids spaghetti. She told him there was "nothing" on it. Which is fine, because he likes spaghetti playing with just Parmesan cheese. He specifically told her to just put parmesan cheese on it then she comes back and asks if he wants meatballs. Of course he said no because he just wanted cheese. This waitress just doesn't understand simple things. When it comes to him, it has sauce all over it. He told her he wanted nothing on it like she said, so she had to go remake it. Didn't even say sorry. Took forever. 4. My other daughter asked for a bacon hamburger, it came and it was dry. She also said she doesn't want tomatoes on it and to put them on the side. I'll get to that in a minute. 5. Everybody ordered coke, not one time to cheat ask for a refill. 6. She never brought us silverware. 7. When we finally asked for a refill, she brought it, but she switched everybody's glass up, because my daughter was the only person wearing lipstick, and she gave the glass with the straw with the lipstick on it(my daughters), to somebody else at the table. This girl's an idiot. 8. Finally we get our bill, and I noticed the 65 cent charge for tomatoes. Huh? I go up there and ask her why there's a $0.65 charge for tomatoes when my daughter said to take them off of her burger and put them on the side. This girl just said that that's how they do it, that when they take something off and order, they charge you for it. Wth? Then I told her that that is false and it doesn't make sense, so then she said, "well just take it out of my tip". (She assumed I was going to tip her). It's pretty rude to assume that. Anyway, my bill was$45, and I did tip her five bucks. Which I regret. Oh, I gave her a $10 bill and asked her for a 5 and five 1s. She gives me two 5. I mean this girl was on another planet. . I'm sure this is a good place, but this waitress was literally the worst waitress I've ever had in my life. Plus she took forever to take the order of five people. She literally could not write fast or abbreviate anything, it's like she's just not all there.. read more

Ate dinner here with my family tonight. Had not been here for ten years; I understand it's under different ownership. This place isn't primarily a pizza place and I'm surprised it's listed as one by name on Yelp. It really has long been a burger, broasted chicken and ice cream place historically. But the chicken is gone altogether, to my surprise, now. It is very clean and the staff are friendly. My biggest problem is that it sells what should be cheap food and it adds up, ultimately making it as expensive as eating at any number of sit-down chain restaurants or other local places. For three cheeseburgers, two of them with fries, and a cheesesteak, a cup of soup, and three drinks, the total was over $55.00 before a tip. They get you with add ons: burgers don't come with fries and fries are $3.00 as an addition. Bacon added to your burger is nearly $3.00. These aren't thick burgers; they are thin burgers you'd expect at a place like this. Like I said, it's clean, friendly...food isn't bad, but it's too expensive for what it is. I'd also add that when places that have been open for over 50 or 60 years change ownership and their tune, it's a tightrope walk to hang in and stay open. I wish them the best. This is not the place I want to spend that kind of money and I do not think we will return. read more

I opted for the crab cake sandwich and my bf ordered the fried chicken dinner which came with fries, coleslaw and a biscuit. The crab cake didn't appear to be homemade but it was good and had a nice flavor. It was on a plain bun-no lettuce, tomato or anything! This was disappointing. The fried chicken was ok but you could tell it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while because the skin wasn't very crispy. The cole slaw was meh but the fries were very good. For one dinner and a crab cake sandwich the total was just under $20 which seemed a little pricey to me. Even if I were in the area I don't think I would visit again. read more

STOP what your doing and listen up people !!! This is NOT just a pizza place , it's like saying Picasso was a house painter . The menu is so diverse seriously and the Food is over the top delicious! I highly recommend their California Burger , Grilled Chicken Caesar salad ( all salads for that matter ) Breakfast, And Boardwalk Fries with malt vinegar!! Just go there . Been here 3 times since they reopened and it gets worse each time. First time which was days after reopening, it was pretty good. This last time, no one finished their meals. 3 of us didn't get what we specifically asked for (extra cheese, sauce, etc). The food desperately needed flavor. How hard is it to have chicken tenders have some taste? Chicken quesadilla... no flavor dry chicken. Chicken cheese steaks... made from sheets of chicken, very dry and hardly any cheese even after asking for extra cheese. We even got a ham and cheese sandwich with no cheese! The waitress laughed when we told her it was the worst meal we ever had there and didn't ask what was wrong or go get someone that would care. I used to come here all the time when I was younger, before it changed ownership. It might just be nostalgia, but I feel like all these changes weren't for the better. It's branded as "Hilltop Pizza" now, which is weird. It used to be all about burgers. The food is still great, I ordered a BLT Club and it was delicious. I just feel like my main problem with it is the whole vibe of the place. You used to have to get up to the main counter and order the food there, but now they have waiters and waitresses. I hate it when they make things easy (I'm being serious). They have menus at the tables now, instead of one big menu above the counter. A lot of the old staff disappeared too, so that was a bit sad. Above all, the biggest thing that boggled me was the overall interior changes. They's got a bunch of signs hung around, a very out-of-place fake fireplace, y'know. I have not a single complaint about the food, it's all still stellar! But as someone who remembers their time there as a kid very fondly, this place has changed just a bit too much. Came here many times under previous owner. Food and service was always great. They definitely changed the menu up a lot. Adding pizza and Italian food among other things. Pizza was good as was Hershey's ice cream. Wasn't sure if we needed to order at counter like before or sit to order. Did take a little while for slices of pizza.
