The Korean Sesame chicken as our appetizer was fantastic ++ with the very tasty blue cheese. Then both had the steak as our entree, which was great and cooked perfectly to our liking. The only thing we weren't that much a fan of is the mozzarella cheese scattered across the steak. It could've gone without or perhaps some thin Parmesan instead. The potatoes were very lovely! This place was so good. Exactly the type of place I was looking for delicious fresh food with incredible flavor. Exciting drinks and mocktails. Unfortunately I was so hungry I did not take any pictures but the blackened shrimp tacos were amazing and the fries were delicious. The nachos we got for a starter were amazing!! Loaded and so fresh. My family ate here last night. Five of us received our dinner but not my daughter. When the waiter finally noticed, he apologized and said he forgot to enter it. OK, that has happened to me a few times over the years and the restaurant always put in a rush order. Not so at this restaurant. We were looking for a really good Sunday brunch spot in an area we weren't familiar with....so Yelp came to the rescue! Nailed it with an amazing warm and cozy farm to table restaurant that I wish was closer to home. Wow is this place amazing. From the warm hospitality right from the start from Monty who wanted to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience, to Marie, our server, who took her time to answer all our questions -- what a great time we had at Stone House Grille. Most all the food here is made with such care from local farms and you can tell by each bite you take! My fresh Woodland Mushroom Omelet looks so simple but the flavor is so delish. I like Stone House Grill overall but find them to be hit or miss. Ordered takeout last night including a burger, the fried chicken sandwich, and a tuna appetizer bc we wanted to be a little fancy on a Saturday night. First, the actual sandwiches were good - no skimping on meat or veggies. The burger was cooked to order and chicken was juicy. My only complaint is the handhelds come with chips, not fries, which is fine but the chips are always burned and completely salt-less... they're so bland every time! We ate like two chips and then threw all the rest away (adding salt at this point doesn't even save them). You'd think the kitchen would take the hint seeing every plate come back with more than half the chips on it (I've seen this every time we've eaten in person) but I guess why change anything if ppl still order it? Idk... Last was the tuna app, which was the most disappointing dish of the order. Expensive but the tuna was stringy and had almost no flavor... the wonton chip was good but not sure why this dish came with a big spoonful of coleslaw as it didn't add much. We both had a couple pieces of the tuna and then threw the rest away, which was painful bc I really don't like wasting food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This review focused on our recent takeout order but we've also sat inside Stone House and they have a nice relaxed ambience, great for lunch in particular.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's situated on a corner and parking can be tight, fair warning. I think stone house does a nice job with the basics - burgers, sandwiches, soups, wings - but they fumble the ball big time in some important ways (boring burned chips, trying too hard with fancy dishes that aren't executed well). There are a ton of good places in the area so while Stone House will still be in our occasional rotation, we're not falling over ourselves to get back anytime soon. read more

Stone House Grille is basically flawless. We have eaten here many times, both in person and via takeout, and I have literally never had a bad meal. The "Fire on the Mountain Chicken Sandwich" is the star of the show for me. Get it with chips, which they make themselves. Maybe take an antacid if you have a weak stomach for spice; it's not the kind of spicy that'll burn your mouth, but it might get you afterwards if you know what I mean. Most recently, I branched out and tried their Crab Cake BLT, which is also great (shown in the picture). I'm also a fan of their Jose Wrap. Really, though, you can't go wrong. We've also had their nachos, their shrimp tacos, their steak, you name it. The menu changes frequently and everything on it is great. I don't know how they got this chef, who's so good they should be well-known everywhere. It reminds me of that Piano Man line about being out of place for your talent: "They sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say man, what are you doing here?" Get here before you can't even get a seat. Oh, and one more thing: the review algorithm wants me to mention ambiance, so I should say that it's on the rustic and chill side. They're big Grateful Dead fans and usually have some old live concerts playing, with lots of memorabilia on the walls. This isn't somewhere you dress up for, but it's a step up from super casual. read more

As our waiter shared it was Wing Wednesday - a pound of wings for $10 instead of 14 or 15, I chose to go with wings instead of any of my tried and true favorites. I got their Dr Pepper BBQ sauce. I would not recommend the wings nor that sauce. The wing flats came attached to the wing tips... Nothing like adding on a section of gristle and bone to each wing to get to that 1 pound of wings. The sauce does not even merit being called lackluster. It was more like somebody had smeared a bland paste on the wings; it doesn't deserve to be called sauce. Service and friendliness were as awesome as ever. However, I'm leaving a 3 star review to call attention to the recommendation to *not not not* order their wings, and not order the Dr Pepper BBQ sauce. read more

Road tripping led us to the tiny town of Kimberton and luck led us to the Stone House Grill. A definite MUST to return. The building that houses the Stone House was built in 1787. It is well maintained. And beautifully restored. It rustic stone walls once housed a girls boarding house and historically was part of the Underground Railroad according to management who personally took the time to stop by the table check on our order and chat. (ALWAYS a plus for me) even more so when there are interesting facts share. The burger tops the list on my all time best burgers around. A special burger that day a Caprese was burger perfect in presentation and a delight to savor! House made chips accompanied the masterpiece and were delectable as well. Fire on the mountain chicken sandwich was a feast for the eyes as well as the appetite. Well crafted and nice again presented beautifully. Five stars does not seem to be enough. The Stone House is small and provides personal attention and takes great pride in their menu. The staff works cohesively to provide an enjoyable dining experience. Our third visit today over the 18 months and it seems that success and attention have impacted this small suburban bistro for the worse. I have aggregated the scores for the 3 trips to four stars since the first two experiences were certainly 5 stars. Both of those were with smaller parties of 2 or 3 and the food, service and value were spot on. Ambiance is cute country. Todays party of 6 experience was disappointing with food quality deteriorating from previous visits (the chorizo sausage gravy was like paste). Where, in the past, we would rave about the taste of the food, todays experience elicited the "it was ok" comment from just about everyone. While our young and very quiet server tried very hard, it was obvious that too many reservations with large parties just forced the kitchen to fail. Timing was awful with not even the food coming out at the same time or correct temps. Todays experience was 3 star dining. Precis: go with a small party during an off hour. Forget peak brunch and large parties. They simply don't seem to be able to handle it. While the menu pricing is reasonable/borderline high they do add the ridiculous 3% surcharge for credit card payments. read more

Ordered take out from the restaurant. Staff were so friendly over the phone. I have been following them on Instagram and their dishes look so good. I ordered the short rib dish with sweet potato bisque. My husband ordered their woodland jeweled polenta. It did not take long for the food to be delivered, about 35 minutes. The short rib dish was amazing!!! I will order this again and again. The meat was fall off the bone delicious! I gobbled it up quickly. The bisque tasted good. It was not too sweet but had a perfect amount of thickness. My husband was not too impressed with the woodland polenta. It did not have much of a taste and very soggy. We are not sure if it is because it was takeout and the container messed with the dish. We do not recommend this dish. We had two wins and one fail.
