Front desk lady is extremely rude! I recommend the doctor, however front desk lady is horrible. Asking for a referral to go elsewhere. Doctor needs to realize that the person he has upfront is not good for his business. read more

First, I'd like to say that Doctor Foad Elahi is absolutely amazing! He is kind, attentive, and goes out of his way to make his patients comfortable. However, the front office staff is by far the worst I have encountered; unfortunately for the doctor himself, the front office staff (specifically Alyssa) is working against him. The first appointment my Mother had was at 0730, she arrived at 0715 with three other patients, the two ladies in the front stayed in the back of the office, ignoring them. Over 30 minutes later, they came out and were rude and aggressive with the elderly patients, stating, "There is no way they had 0730 because they don't open until 0800." They further explained that the email they received from the doctor was inaccurate and, "they don't know what he sends that." Followed by an eye roll. I came back with my mother again today for a, you guessed it, 0730 appointment! Alyssa barely acknowledged we were there. No good morning, nothing, only stated, "sign in." During this time, my elderly mother asked, "Can I have a pen?" Without looking up, extremely rude and very disrespectful, with a sigh of annoyance, she stated, "Right there." There were pens with flowers attached to them (typical at a doctor's office); however, my mother didn't recognize them as pens. Instead of being helpful or pointing, she acted like my mother was an idiot and would not engage, so my poor Mom was just standing there, unaware of what to do next. Luckily, I was within earshot and able to step in and help her. Sitting here with my Mom, Alyssa answered a call on speaker phone, very much in earshot of everyone, which was absolutely inappropriate for parent care! I really must make it clear; I cannot say enough about Doctor Foad Elahi and how great he is with patient care, going above and beyond for his patients. However, Alyssa is horrific and does not need to be working with the public, especially the elderly. She will single-handedly destroy his business. read more

On 5/22/2023 Dr. Elahi implanted a Spinal Cord Stimulator into my back. Previous office visits medical issues were discussed, ongoing back pain, newly full shoulder replacement, etc. On surgery date it was reiterated to surgical staff not to mess up my shoulder replacement. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. After the surgery, I wondered why my left shoulder was in pain. I was told by Haliegh(BS rep.) that it was probably because of how I was turned on the operating table. This was conveyed to me in person and via phone. E.R. visited to St. Joseph was needed due to pain, orthopedic surgeon referral and primary care dr. was suggested. OS was seen x-rays completed at Lodi memorial Hospital and referral to PT Solutions for physical therapy. Keep in mind, 4 days prior my OS stated I was doing exceptional well (documented in visit summary). Scheduling for August for right shoulder replacement was in the planning. Due to the issue of my left shoulder injury/pain, surgery has been cancelled and now having to wait. Now I have small shocks throughout my body, numbness in hands have returned and previously non-existing sciatic nerve pain which leaves me sleeping in a recliner due to left shoulder pain, surgery sight tenderness and new sciatic pain on right side of body. Two more initial E.R. visits in Sept.-Lodi memorial and St. Joseph's Hospital-Stockton. After several calls from St. Joseph staff checking on my shoulder pain, I contacted Dr. Elahi (not responsive). Also a few calls to and from BS. It took St. Joseph's upper management team (Matti 209-461-6838) to inform me that my arms during surgery were spread eagle and it wasn't necessary, that the surgery could have been completed without raising my left arm. After more than a month of phone calls, ST. Jospeh personally, called Dr. Elahi. I was told that anything in St. Joseph's operating room is by direction of the attending surgeon. Dr. Elahi proceeds to call me within the ending of talking with St. Joseph. He truly was not concerned with my injury, only that I was going to make a complaint which would come back to him. Jumping forward (standing up and many breaks due to pain) I was seen in his office on Sept. 26th, 2023, and the rep. from BS who usually is talkative was literally, a figure of a person (no verbalization at all). This was strange due to the fact; she was the one who kept telling me "It must have been the way you were turned on the table". I guess she was silenced. Dr. Elahi gave two alternatives: 1. let them recalibrate the device 2. take the device out I decided on the latter. Especially, after enduring the ongoing pain, the strange behaviors from both Dr. Elahi and the noticeable disconnect from rep. from Boston Scientific. Surgery was set for Oct. 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital. The surgery paper states on the top "As Soon As Possible". The new date is Oct. 9, 2023 (tomorrow). I would have made this complaint many moons ago but dealing with the new shoulder injury, surgical site tenderness which remains today and sleep deprivation, I was and still am tired, stressed, and appalled. This has taken me almost 4 hours to type. The pain is unbearable. What kind of surgeon goes against a patient's overly requested plea: to be careful of their shoulder? I guess Dr. Elahi!!! On surgery day it was clear of the needed changes. St. Joseph staff made sure I knew that a repositioning of my left arm would take place (Guessing -Pollo, I think they said). This was due to the injury reported from 5/23/2023 surgery on my left shoulder. After the surgery, Nikki Craig (St. Joseph Hospital/complaint Dept), pays me a personal visit in the recovery room (she wanted to put a face to the name/after we spoke several times). I was totally surprised and wondered if St. Joseph had reported the original complaint given in May, to the correct agency). My discharge envelope had no documentation of a follow-up, and I had no idea there was staples in my back. I found this out after leaving Dr. Elahi s office a message on 10/11/2023 and receiving a call from his front office: Due to shooting pain up spine, lingering sciatic issues, no prescription for pain meds, MRI Dr. Elahi requested can't be completed for six week because of surgery (Nov. 21-Stockton Imaging) and requesting the need for a walker. The information of a follow-up was conveyed with "Dr. Elahi doesn't order or prescribe walkers", and St. Joseph should of put follow-up information in discharge paperwork. What does he do, after turning a person's life upside down? Here we go! On 10/17/2023 @10AM, I visited Dr. Elahi's office in Manteca. This was a follow-up on surgery performed on 10/09/2023. Once again, rep. was present from Boston Scientific without consent or any welcoming communication. Dr. Elahi continued to ask, "How are you feeling" even though I kept saying "Not good at all". Read for yourself however my sign was the staff being rude the estimate of 16 people+ in 35-45 mins without counting. After seeing this doctor for about 5 minutes (if that) he told me he wanted to implant a stimulator in my back. I'm not one afraid of surgery. But he was out of the room before I could even think of a question. I did ask 3 times what the side effects were, and got no answer. I have NEVER had any type of treatment so this seemed a bit rushed. He said to get Medicare to pay I must have shots, so he gave me a shot in the office, I had to stop him so I could ask what kind of shot. I also had to have 2 psych evaluations for Medicare to pay. I did one and he had lied about what type of shot he gave me. Sounds like he is frauding Medicare to get me in for this implant. Then I heard about and read his sexual harrassment suit. I'll leave this man a single star for the fact that he has the ability to change someone's life for the better. Problem is, his bedside manner is one that is absolutely insulting at best. Within seconds of walking into the room I was rushed into, he immediately tells me that having a surgical procedure to implant a neurostimulator is in my best interest. He clearly did not want to be bothered by listening to me for even a few seconds. I'm a highly educated, very active business woman and mother of six. I'm well aware of what treatment and surgical procedures I've had and what most certainly did work for me. He only talked over me, bringing the "Boston Scientific guy" and another assistant to tell me that 1. I need to "Learn" and 2. "The Attitude" (suggesting it's my attitude that needs to change on the medical implant he suggested without even having a true conversation with me. I simply shared that my last doctor had done radio frequency ablation and I had great results from that procedure, it's just been years since I had it done and asked if that was a possibility over a neurostimulator? He said, "Ok, we'll do that. Do you want sedation?" I'm like I'm not the doctor, I'm trying to ASK YOU A QUESTION. He immediately wrote up orders to Doctors Hospital Manteca to do MULTIPLE LEVELS on my cervical spine AND MULTIPLE LEVELS on my lumbar spine without so much as an exam or ANY DISCUSSION of the exact areas I'm in pain or really ANYTHING AT ALL. He handed me the paper and told me his assistant will get me scheduled for the hospital and that I need to "listen to" the Boston Scientific guy and "learn" and walked out. There is NO WAY I would let this man do anything at all near my spine or any other part of my body. Had he taken even a moment to hear about who I am and how health conscious and aware I am, we may have been able to "learn" something from each other. He was clearly disinterested in knowing anything at all about me as a human or what I have been through that caused my chronic pain. I appreciate him so kindly referring me to a psychologist. I sincerely pray for those who must put their health and pain management into his hands. I work hard and do pay for good insurance, there are too many great doctors to settle for this treatment. Today, I choose to walk away in the same pain to put my healthcare into the hands of a caring and thoughtful practitioner. There are great doctors out there. Bad experience from start to finish. All of the staff was extremely rude, I waited over an hour and a half, had to rip off the dirty paper on the exam table myself, and the authorization for the test I was there for was never sent off. I would not recommend to anyone. To add on I went into office to clear up an issue with an order because nobody ever called me back after treating me so rude even on phone! I've seen some pretty terrible things being said. I feel for the people who didn't get the care they deserved. One man went as far as to point out allegations made about Dr. Elahi true or not my experience was quite different. I was seen within 10 min of my appointment. He had already reviewed my x-rays from the referring doctor and gave me many treatment options. While I don't have a serious condition, I am in pain everyday. He was compassionate and listened to what I was explaining. I don't have anything negative to say. He seems to have a full schedule so I know I'm not the only one that thinks he is a good doctor. As with any doctor who recommends any procedure, do your homework, make sure it's right for you, and ask questions. read more

Worst customer service from office staff I've ever experienced. Sarcastic and rude from one medical assistant. While sitting in the room during my conversation with the doctor, her phone started going off and she started texting/playing on it. I also have concerns on hygiene & cleanliness with her acrylic nails being excessively long; this is typically not permissible in the medical field. I also should mention the doctor was late to all appts, from 15 to 45 minutes. All appts were scheduled for 8am so maybe he's not a morning person? My time is just as valuable as his, and when you're late to my appt, you're now causing me to be late to all my subsequent appts. I was hoping to have a good experience from this doctor and I can almost look past his tardiness, but the lack of customer service from his office staff was the nail in the coffin for me. How is this guy still in business?!! He is rude, sarcastic, and doesn't attend your needs to any extent. Office staff does not greet and are rude. Unsanitary rooms...when taken into exam room the bed still had used wrinkled bed liner from the patient before. Dr didn't bother to exam problem just mentioned his laser treatment that's not covered by insurance. And when I told him I was looking to diagnose the pained area he said he was not Stanford or Harvard and I can go there if I pleased. He was a waste of time and copay. read more

Unfortunately I cannot give him a 0. So this "doctor" is whack. Don't waste your time with him. He's only qualified to have Dr. in front of his name because he went through the schooling. So first red flag, he had one of his female staff members in there with me. I'm assuming by his past he does this. However, the red flag was when he said "sign here it allows her to be in here." Yet he covered up the print that was above my signature. He never gave me a copy of what I signed. Then after telling me what I've tried before coming to the office visit he said "FDA prohibits me as a doctor to prescribe any pain medication for fibromyalgia." I was shocked because that wasn't the first thing that came into my mind when I was told to go see a pain management doctor. So then he said I had 2 options: one that my insurance won't cover and it would cost me thousands of dollars or 2 which is "spinal cord stimulator." So he then said ok a rep from the company will talk to you more about it. That's all. That's all the communication we had. After he left the room and left me with the rep I started crying. I had waited for 2 months for that answer. 2) he told me to google this spinal shi* thing!! Talking about get familiar with it. Bitc* your the doctor not me! Don't leave me with this rep and say "google it and learn everything you can about it." Then wtf am I here for?!!! So then I was told by his rep to go see a psychologist to get a medical evaluation. "Oh they do this so that they know you REALLY want this and you know everything about it." That wouldn't be a problem if they didn't tell me "oh go with THIS DOCTOR because he doesn't have a delay like if you would go with other doctors on this sheet." So it's one doctor referring another doctor in this whole cycle scam. 3.). I HAVE TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO SAY NO. Yeah he wants to see me again and "see where I'm at with this." Really??? Really??? If he told me before this whole speech those were my only TWO OPTIONS why the hell would I waste my time and money when I can call him up or never go back!!! Paperwork frustrations aside, I am thankful for the patience this practice has. As an ICU RN, I appreciate how hard it can be working with people in pain - severe, chronic pain. - so I appreciate the overall patience. Dr. Elahi takes his time thoroughly explaining condition and procedures done - how it works, how it's done, what to expect, etc. I really appreciate that. Time, hopefully short term, will determine if I finally experience relief and am able to return to normal level of function and activity for me. read more

IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS CONDITION- I RECOMMEND YOU FIND TREATMENT ELSEWHERE. I just walked out in tears... I have CRPS. It's rated the most painful on the pain index scale. It's a rare condition with little treatment and no cure... I was recommended by my primary to see him and IMMEDIATELY all he offered was a spinal cord stimulator. I let him know I was uncomfortable with that option and my old drs were working around it. He would not discuss any other options and kept pushing it. Once I turned down the stimulator, he scratched out my return appointment date and said I could contact him when I was ready. I asked why won't he consider other options like injections or ketamine since those are helpful with this condition. He told me "it requires hospitalization and i don't have those tools." Once he brought up the stimulator yet again & I turned it down for good, he pretty much just checked out mentally. He didn't offer any other help and basically said I can just learn to live with this the best I can. So disappointed and extremely frustrated. I came for help and basically only receives a sales pitch on spinal cord stimulators. Waste of my time and a copay. Not to mention I had to wait an hour past my scheduled appointment! read more
