When the workmen showed up, they had no work order, I got no receipt or anything at all, and they barely spoke English leading to a few misunderstandings. However, this was mostly due to the fact that they would do everything to modernize the attic, including insulating, air sealing, adding soffit vents, and an attic fan. Hired to float a new layer of mass loaded vinyl (that I'd purchased already) and drywall over a…read moresingle wall in my bedroom for better soundproofing. They were inconsistent in communication, started hours later than scheduled, and the end result included thick clumps of mud in some places, zero mud under/around tape in other places. I was able to remove 80% of the tape on the wall without any hand tools - it just fell off. And some gaps in the drywall were large enough that I could see that they didn't fully cover the wall with the MLV (despite having more than enough material). Tried to get them to come back and sand it down and re-mud, but they were unwilling to make any attempt to make this better. I would have had better results if a kindergarten class had done the job.

A couple months ago I was struggling to find a contractor to come out to my house in Maryland to give me an insulation quote for my new addition. Our insulation guy became unavailable towards the end of our project so we needed someone fast to insulate the space. I called Amira and they squeezed us into their schedule, quickly gave us pricing and helped us stay within our budget.
