I went here for my annual eye exam. I am a new customer and the staff was very welcoming. Dr. Landas explained my retina photograph by keeping it light, and making it easy to understand (no eye doctor lingo). She answered all of my questions and saw me in a timely manner. When my exam was complete, I went to the reception area and was asked if I wanted to look at frames. My current prescription was pretty much the same as last time, so I decided to not get any glasses. I informed the staff that I would not be getting frames and they were not pushy at all. Most of the eye doctor's offices that I have been to try to get me to buy new frames. I was surprised and appreciated that I was pressured to buy frames. I found this place from an old friend of mine who has been going to this doctor for awhile now. I was a bit hesitant about this place considering that ive had my own eye doctor for about 17 years, but he was no longer practicing. First off let me tell you that the staff here is amazing. So polite and warming. Offered me coffee and just made me feel really comfortable. The doctor was awesome, and took his time with me. He didn't try and rush me out. When it was time to get my glasses i had a very polite optician who showed me some glasses and was extremely helpful. She didn't try and feed me all these extras that i did not need and i really appreciate that! So if you are looking for a great place, i highly suggest this office. You wont be disappointed. read more

50 for an exam and 75 for a "fitting." When I asked what was the difference between the two she said don't worry insurance covers the exam. I said what about the 75.00 dollar fitting insurance was not covering. She replied that's for glasses. I explained I did not receive glasses and the doctor had simply handed me a pair of contacts and there was no fitting involved. She excused herself and walked away never to explain it. Several days later when I had to return, because my vision was not what it should have been, it was determined the prescription ordered was not the one I would need. She explained I had already ordered them so I would have to pay for them. I asked the Doctor to intervene which he finally did since I had not even picked up the prescription, which was wrong for my eyes. Bottom line the office staff is lacking in customer service and they are definitely on the high side when it comes to exams. I would be willing to pay more for service but you get less time and care than you would at COSTCO for double the price. The doctor is very nice and takes his time with you. However, I feel he tries to give me whatever contact lens he receives the most credit for selling. He claims the brand I like is discontinued and I would have to switch brands. However, a search on line proves this is not true. I have gone here several times over the years but after the service from his front staff and her unwillingness to explain the billing I will never return. This combined with the uncomfortable contacts I ended up with and I encourage others to pass as well. read more

Had a bad experience here , they told me false information about my coverage insurance wise they checked it and told me I was good to go for my exam , and then I come a few days later to have them tell me I was not covered and I needed to pay over 100 dollars , when they told me I was covered to begin with , that was their mistake for Miss reading my plan , and it shouldn't be my fault and they wouldn't give me my prescription , and they charged my benefits to now where I can't go anywhere else cause they made it seem like I used all my benefits there when I didn't get any glasses or even my prescription, I will not ever come here again , very disappointed in my first visit here ! I would recommend Fullerton Vision Center best place I been to and they took care of me in such a positive kind way ! read more

Dr. Arellano and staff are top notch. This was my first visit at Focal Point and I have never had such a thorough appointment at any eye doctor before my appointment a few days ago. I was greeted up front by Heather and she checked me in and got me going within seconds of arriving. The tests done before I saw the doc were fast and it just felt like I was getting top of the line tests by the industries best technology. Once I saw the doc I got a great eye exam and he went above and beyond making me feel comfortable while answering all my questions and concerns I had about my eyes. The last time I had an eye exam LAbron was still playing in Miami. So I decided to finally get an eye exam to make sure I'm going to be able to see through the LA smog. I made an appointment which was a seamless process and was scheduled for a Tuesday afternoon exam. As I walked in, I was greeted by an uber nice employee who asked me what my intentions were. That's a weird way of asking what my reason was for the visit, but it didn't phase me. After virtually no paperwork, I went to the back and had some eye scans done that made my eyes look like the upside down. Finally, the nice doctor, Dr. Naik, took me into the eye exam room and the entire process took about 20 minutes. She walked me through every step and explained what I was looking at. I think I saw 14 million outcomes and there was only 1 in which Lakers won the 2019 championship. It reminded me of the Family Guy cutaway "Aladdin 4: Jafar May Need Glasses. I started laughing and explained to the doc why I was doing so and she was not having it. She did tell me I shouldn't have any Vision problem unlike the Scarlet Witch, but suggested I should get polarized sunglasses. The optician was very helpful in helping picking out a few pairs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'll be happy to return. 5/5. read more

Our entire family has been coming here for years, and have always been satisfied with the care we receive. The doctors and staff are knowledgeable and kind. Recently, my 14 year old daughter wanted to get contact lenses. I was skeptical because she is not even a fan of putting in eye drops and won't go into a pool without googles. Dr. Arellano was confident she could do it, so he sent her home with trials and we set up a "training" appointment. Well, it took 3 trainings and lots of practice at home, but she did it! They were so kind and patient with her throughout the process, and very accommodating to our appointment needs. I so appreciate the patience that all the staff had with her as learned how to put in and take out her contacts. She is beyond thrilled at her success! The bonus is after insurance and a great rebate, a year supply of contacts is only going to cost us $50... cheaper than glasses (especially when a certain someone is prone to losing them and we end up buying more than one pair a year!) We are very, very pleased with our latest experience at Focal Point Optometry. read more

I went to this office today and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff had already had all of my insurance information prepared and educated on what was covered and what discounts I would get beyond what my insurance covered. This was my first visit with an optometrist in years and the first time I've needed glasses. The doctor was very thorough and willing to answer any questions I had including questions regarding the equipment. The front desk girls were very friendly and we're very helpful in helping me select a pair of glasses that looked good on me and matched my budget pretty well. The office was very clean and organized and everyone was very professional. While I was waiting the nurse even helped me get checked in as the receptionist was busy at the moment. Overall this was a very good experience and I will be sure to go back in the future! read more

My family & I have been coming here for years. The staff has always been wonderful every time. Very professional & friendly. The Doctors don't let you leave until you understand what's going on with your eye if anything & answer all your questions. My kids love this place too. I haven't had my eyes checked in over 10 years and hardly ever feel like I have vision issues but I got new insurance that covered the exam and thought.. why not go in? Best decision I ever made!! The staff was extremely friendly and I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time. They have state of the art equipment and the glasses selection is out of this world! I needed a slight correction to my vision so they helped me use up my insurance benefits and get some awesome new sunglasses! Hi ive been a customer in focal point optometry fullerton since we moved here in OC 3 yrs. ago . Their Optometrist are really knowledgeable. The place is clean. This year i chose to get an extra pair of glasses to use at home i opted out the glare portion of it since i dont need it for driving .coz i have one with anti glare for driving but when i lost my driving glasses i dont have a choice but to use the spare one at home and requested to put an anti glare on it. My husband went to bring my eyeglasses to focal point and they said it will be done 5-10 days. When my husband called around 8 days after , they said its not done yet and they explain why and that they will just text my husband if its ready for pick up. After 10 days i was on the area so i decided to drop by i might be lucky but unfortunately its not available yet and the worst part the girl in front told me if you did the anti glare the first time you ordered your eyeglasses it would have been faster. I was so shocked that i didnt even tell her why i did it in the first place. She didnt know the whole story and i dont owe her an explanation , but It looks like im the one at fault for not delivering my eyeglasses on time? Bad customer service and you will loose my business and your future customers business if you always respond that way. After 13 days my glasses arrived and no one texted us until my husband called. read more

Dr. Arellano is such a great doctor! He is extremely thorough and explains everything really well. I have a complex problem with my eyes...I went to 3 other optometrists and NONE of them could correct my vision. Then I saw Dr. Arellano and he was able to find some special contact lenses that WORKED! I was so happy to have my vision back. The office staff is also very good - always friendly. Dr Arellano is the BEST! I have a difficult prescription, since I had refractive surgery years and years ago but increasingly needed further vision correction. Other eye doctors I went to (in SF Bay area and overseas) told me I couldn't wear contact lenses due to my past surgery. Dr. Arellano is well up-to-date on all the latest research and technologies and was able to get me contacts lenses that were comfortable and provided great vision correction. He also helped me get informed about the latest vision correction technologies for my children. I've had vision issues and seen eye doctors for the past 30 years. I am very pleased with the quality of care. I generally think clinics near the medical research universities are the best informed about the latest technologies. But this time, because I'm no longer a minor, I went alone, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff were very nice and friendly, (both on the phone and in person), and Doctor Arellano was very professional and kind, too. This is a review for the front desk not the doctor. I made an appointment a week ago for my son as he needed new glasses. I specifically asked for Dr. Alvin. and to book me when he was available which would be a week later. I made it clear to the lady on the other end that I wanted son to be seen by him and to give a time when he would be able to. So I got an appointment a week later. Upon arriving I let the girl I had a 2:30pm appointment. She looks my son up and tells us to have a seat. Well while waiting I noticed other people coming in and out and figured they were seeing other eye doctors there. An hour later and I finally got tired of sitting there and walked up and informed the girls that I have been waiting for an hour and that I was just going to go and reschedule as I figured the doctor was probably busy. Turns out the girl at the front says to me "oh you haven't been seen yet"? (Her desk is in visual view of me and son and at some point I was pacing trying to be patient) so not sure what was going on but I had enough. Two previous visits I had been scheduled to see the doctor at 1pm. Bad idea. The all lock up the doors and go to lunch. Well at 1pm until like 1:15pm I sat outside waiting for all of them to come back from lunch. Laughing and giggling telling me they are sorry (I hadn't had a lunch yet). Then I had to wait for them to get inside and settle in before calling me to see the doctor. I didn't say anything, I need my glasses and my sons too. But yesterday I decided to leave and was very angry for wasting my time sitting there. I planned on buying two pairs of glasses of glasses for my son that day of which i know were well over $150.00 each and order the ones I been wanting to get but at the time didn't have money. So I am taking my business elsewhere. Like I said this review was for the front desk not the doctor, he happens to be very good with children but needs to train his staff a little better. read more

Dr. Arellano and his lab guy resolved the issue with my glasses with grace and courtesy. Generally, the service is great and my last visit was no exception. On my last visit as I was supposed to pick up my glasses, they didn't have the right positioning to read anything. I had to look through the lens very close to the bottom rim to be able to read clearly. Talk about a strain on the eyes! I was also told by the nice lady that the lab will only redo the frames once and then the patient is responsible for charges for redos after that. Hmmm. That didn't seem appropriate. I suggested they should probably find another lab because this was rather upsetting. Instead of being rigid with their policy, Dr. Arellano made sure that he and his lab worked with me until I was satisfied with my glasses. I was asked to come back in case I needed further adjustments. It's been nearly two months since I got the glasses and I'm still happy with them. Thank you, Dr. Arellano! You're the best eye doctor I've ever had! I would refer anyone and everyone that needs glasses. read more

To start off with, they were extremely unorganized. They wrote multiple things wrong on my file like my name, and then confused me with my sisters file. Which should be a separate file from mine to begin with. The ladies working there seem nice and friendly but should not be talking about their personal issues in front of clients. Once given the contacts i had to call for a follow up because i was having issues with them. When i came back they gave me a different brand and didn't even have the ones i needed. So they gave me one of the correct prescriptions and than one that was 25% off of my actual prescription. Than i called back a few days later to see if they could sell me one more contact of the right prescription and they said i would have to buy an entire box off of them. Which by the way they go through their own company of contacts and they are way more expensive by a good 10-20 dollars. Also i would like to say i have one of the best insurance policies you can have and they are WAY over priced than other places. Would i recommend them to others, Probably not. read more
