We transferred from another local eye doctor because his staff was unprofessional and rude, but the staff at B Doty are some of the best I've ever dealt with at a doctor's office. Not only are they great with me and my wife, but have been fantastic with our kids. They will answer any questions and have always been friendly. Dr. Smith was different--he's a great guy, and he seems to treat every patient like a good friend. He's also really good at what he does. He did a few scans of my eyes and, after showing me some visual charts, explained what we were looking at and what that meant. He even figured out a small (thankfully not serious) problem I've had with my eyes for years...something that eluded several other doctors. The office is really small, but that's not really a bad thing. It's tucked into the Sheffield Plaza in Aliquippa, and they get a lot of mileage out of their space. The waiting area was comfy, and they had a nice selection of new glasses that I was able to sort through. The staff was quite helpful too, and they managed to easily juggle a half-dozen patients at the same time without alienating any of them. So, the long and short: great place, great people.

The staff, while apologetic, was clearly overwhelmed and unable to manage the volume of patients. They were frantically trying to serve the queue that had built up due to the irresponsible lack of personnel. It's obvious that MyEyeDr's corporate overlords have implemented "lean staffing" policies that make it impossible for even diligent employees to provide timely care. This greedy, abusive understaffing directly caused me to miss a vital therapy appointment. As someone who relies on carefully scheduled care to maintain my mental health, this disruption to my treatment and self-care at a vulnerable time was devastating.
