I have been a client of Fog City Alarm for over 2 years, and I could not be happier - Allen (the owner) is professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. I was slightly skeptical of using a smaller local vendor for our security needs, but I was pleasantly surprised. Originally, the house was wired by the prior owners by Allen at Fog City Alarm. The original GE-branded system included door and window sensors as well interior motion sensors, in addition to multiple keypads. I called on Allen to partition the system so that we could activate different levels of the house independently (works well). Since then, Allen has also installed an Aiphone-branded front door camera / doorbell / intercom w/ three separate LCD in-wall viewing stations in the house so that we can monitor and record all front door activity. Most recently I had Allen add a remote activation feature for our alarm system, whereby I can now activate / deactivate as well as check the status of our alarm system from any mobile or land line in the world. In all cases Allen carefully understood the security requirements, researched and explained the solutions and costs upfront, and delivered as promised. I didn't even have to ask Allen to remove his shoes before entering the house - respect. I was most impressed by the quality/cleanliness of all of Allen's installation work - tidy and clean. I continue to use Fog City alarm as our monitoring service provider (we've accidentally set off the system, and it works well). I highly recommend using Fog City Alarm. read more

After thinking about getting an alarm system for years, I was motivated to act quickly when the house next door and the one next to it were both burglarized on a Friday afternoon, right before I was scheduled to go out of town. Fog City Alarms was recommended to me, I called at about 4:00 p.m. that afternoon (as soon as I could after talking with police and neighbors) and Allen Young (owner) came out that evening at 7:00 and installed a complete system for me. He was excellent at assessing my needs, installing the system aesthetically (I appreciated his focus on appearances since all I could think about was having a system in place before I left on Saturday morning), and clearly explaining how it worked. Thanks to Allen I achieved my goal and did have a working system in place when I left on Saturday morning. The system has some great features that Allen suggested in response to comments I made. It allows me to leave windows partially open (opening further activates the alarm) and I can turn individual windows or doors on or off.
