Aside from being very knowledgeable about his domain, Kurtis and his team are also able to think creatively about different solutions. The pathway they created for all the wiring took them a great deal of effort, but it's almost invisible, both inside and outside the house. I was looking for some help to upgrade the WiFi in our house as well as purchase and install a new TV and move an existing TV. I called Kurtis Company and I like the other places that I contacted Kurtis answered the phone right away (I am still waiting to hear from the others about 8 weeks later). We purchased our current house in 2018. It was built in 2013, and equipped with a Russound multi-zone CAT5 networked in-ceiling speaker system. Recently, we were experiencing high-pitched feedback over the system, and I reached out to Kurtis to get a professional assessment of my options (repair or replace). He spent time walking through the existing set-up, and getting an understanding of my objectives for sound in each area of the house. He outlined a couple options, while noting that the installed CAT5 system had numerous limitations, is less commonly used now, and would be costly to try and repair. He outlined a replacement option, leveraging the Sonos network I already had in place for the rooms that weren't covered by the CAT5 multi-zone system. This included (1) stand-alone Sonos speakers in our kitchen/dining area, (2) improved speaker wiring for the KEF speakers in our living room, (3) expanding our TV room Sonos soundbar with a subwoofer and rear speakers to get full surround sound. Kurtis's security camera system was installed on our building about 3 weeks ago. They came into our apartment and installed the system on our device as well. Installation was professional and super courteous. Follow up phone service by technician was superb . However, quality of the cameras is horrible. Our car was broken into last Friday to Saturday night. Their system recorded everything, including the face and license plate of burglar. When zooming into the face and license plate on our computer, one can't identify anything. It's totally blurry/ white. I talked to Kurtis with the hope he can help, but instead I heard " you can't see details at night, the cameras don't work like that at night". That should have been made clear before the installation, which cost $2200. He said they could come out again to the apartment to check on things, but for a charge. Service ? Why would you pay for a system that won't let you identify the perpetrators? A complete waste of money. I think they need to be upfront about their limited capabilities before selling this system. Avoid , unless you like to be able to watch over and over again how people break/ vandalize your property without ever being able to hold anyone accountable, or if you have the option to get better cameras from the get go. Ps: Kurtis' reply/account of the systems's purpose ( to record people dumping trash) must be a joke . It's totally untrue! Also, I spoke to his technician during the installation , and clearly stated we had car break ins at nighttime.
