I happened to see a clip on our local public television channel on the viewer selected restaurant review show... thanks, Leslie Sabrocco. An ending clip visited a farmers market in Pacifica which featured a stand from here. After a quick search, I surfed their website and ordered a variety of flavors to try. The texture was soft with a slight chew and I was happy that there were no difficult to chew pieces. About ten days later, I chose the most aggressive flavor to try, the mango habanero (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=YvXdAQP73jUscip5ZnKwHw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). At first taste, the flavor and texture was similar to the BBQ one with a slight tang to it. As my palate settled, the sweetness and the slow burn came. It wasn't spicy enough to warrant a glass of milk but, trying this shortly after dinner, I didn't have another piece for a few days later. It'll take me a while to finish this one so I'm not sure when I'll get to the other flavors. In ordering, I was added to their email and text list so I started getting promo notices. Here, I learned that they are a full meat company in offering a variety of steaks and other meat products. With a busy work and home schedule, I haven't had a chance to do more homework in trying more things. Will update if any of those untried flavors wow me or something else they sell is noteworthy.

Now onto the product: there really is only one offering that is hard to pass these guys by for if you're in Pascadero area: R&R offer a cup of peanut for $4 that is magically delicious and snackable. did President Jimmy Carter have peanuts this delicious from his peanut farm? I submit that he did not? Pro tip: Do not have them around if you feel an oncoming snack attack. You'll possibly consume the entire cup o' vegan legumes which brings me to an interesting factoid: did you know that a peanut is neither a pea nor a nut? It is indeed a legume. The peanut is more like one of those hideous lentils then delicious pea or a delicious nut. Why!? This seems so unnecessary. I wouldn't be surprised to find That President Jimmy Carter President Obama somehow Secretly teamed up to rename and re-categorize what is clearly a nut into a legume. This is much the way the President Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of Mara Lago or whatever it was. A little personal story about R&R: it was the case that when I moved away from the central coast I found myself trying to replicate these tastey legumes By cooking peanuts in the oven at my new home which is 6300 feet above sea level. Many calculations must be made to adjust For cooking at that altitude versus at sea I think I have come close To replicating them but still no dice. I cannot get quite the coverage of salty goodness to adhere to the Redskins the way they have. This is my main struggle in life right now I have been trying to replicate this spicy peanut extravaganza and not really getting very close. Still worth it to just buy it here.

Tickets are $7/adult which pays for the first lb, and after that it's only $2/lb for organic apples!! The GPS takes you to 1875 Hames Rd which is their house, so keep driving down Hames, you'll pass some horses on the right, and then you'll see the entrance to the apple orchard. Drive through the path to reach the parking lot. You check in at the barn. There are porty potties with hand-washing. It is 17 acres of apple orchards to explore! We came pretty late in the season, but there were still plenty of beautiful, crisp, juicy, perfectly sweet apples (we picked 11 lbs!!) In September they had Gala apples, and in October thy had Fuji apples this year. I had gone berry picking with my kids in the past and wasn't sure if they'd be able to reach apples, but actually all the trees are super short, the apples grow so low to the ground my 2 and 4 year olds had no problems picking all the apples they wanted! The only thing was that the weeds grow pretty high in the aisles, which makes it a little bit of an adventure to trek through- I would recommend long pants. Karell the owner is super friendly, talked to us about the farmland and apples, and was very kind to our kiddos. You can also walk over to their stables to see their horses and feed them apples. They are in season right now!…read more We were driving down the road, and seen such an abundance of apple trees along both sides, covered in ripe fruit, in all shades of the color palette between green and red, tons and tons of apples on, and under the trees, we just had to stop. So here we are, at the Bella Farms stand, where things seem pretty simple. You could pick up your apples from the already collected pile inside the box, or you could climb the ladder up the nearest tree and get yourself some fresh ones. Several nearby trees had ladders installed on them actually. Self serve $4 per bag this year. Pretty good if you ask me! Aside from the Halloween decor in October and Christmas trees in December, this is actually a Dahlia farm! I have only been in September, October and December, and have yet to see the dahlias in full bloom, but even in October they are beautiful! There is a vast selection of flowers in all the colors of the rainbow. It is truly a sight to see. The farm is also home to a whole section of beehives! Best of all you can purchase honey and beeswax candles produced by these amazing creatures. On top of just being an over all cool spot, the owner is extremely kind. He is more than happy to tell you all about the farm and show you around. Last time we visited we got to meet his rescue kitty and then he even carried our pumpkins to the car!
