My husband and I were very concerned about our Great Dane potentially having bloat, so we took her here, the nearest vet to our house. It was around 4:45 in the evening, and instead of trying to help us, the staff looked at the clock & sent us to a vet down the street that had "more doctors on staff". Thank God they turned us down because our dog was placed in the care of Dr Walker at Walker Home Town Animal Care, where he is the ONLY veterinarian on staff. This is a laughable establishment, who turned away a dog who needed emergency medical care. read more

Rundown, joke of a office. More expensive than most other vets, staff is rude and don't seem to like animals? I would never take my dogs here again. All I can so is no..pick someone else especially if you have lab mix or large dog. My dog loved car rides and never had a problem going to vets office. Stressful situation all around. He didn't like grounds, office etc.. not very friendly to my pet.. prices were fine but I won't go back.. my friendly dog stressed out and died 1 hour later.. read more

I'm new to the area and can not compliment this Doctor and his staff enough. They welcomed my standard poodle in with open arms when I was desperately looking for a Veterinarian to treat my fur baby . He treated her ears with expertise and patience, updated her Rabies vaccine/licensing and explained medications/vaccinations more than any other Vet I've been to since leaving AZ 7 years ago. I trusted him with Uma's dental cleaning today and he did not disappoint. Uma's feeling much better and proudly sporting her pearly whites. The office has been spotless and welcoming beginning to end each time I've visited. Dr. A's service is excellent and his prices are very fair and affordable. If you're looking for a top notch Veterinarian who truly cares about your pet in the Foley/Elberta area, he's it... I highly recommend you give Dr. A a try! read more

While spending a few months here we had the bad fortune of losing our 15 year old Miniature Schnauzer (Mac) just before Christmas 2020. At the same time we had the good fortune of finding and choosing this Veterinarian and his Staff to help Mac go on ahead. Mac was a rescue and an odd little guy after being mistreated badly the 1st few months of his life. We added him to our home with 2 female Miniature Schnauzers (AKC) and they took to him (a puppy mill dog) and him to them. Mac was (affectionately) our "Alabama reject". It was a year before we could reach to pet him and he didn't duck and try to run from us. He came to love attention and people yet remained a bit awkward around people his whole life. He never learned to bark (we were told he had been kept in a closet and beaten if he made any noise) but was guardedly a happy dog and being the youngest outlived our girls (15 years 10 months and 16 years 7 months. All that was to give you an idea of what he meant to us. It was obviously time to let him go and selfishly I probably kept him too long. No Vet wants to see an animal for the first time the last minutes of their life but when he said "I'll treat him as if he were my own", I knew he meant it. I can't tell you what that meant and how it helped. His Staff were the same way. It was obvious they cared and did their jobs professionally. If we lived here we would choose this Vet to help our next Puppy live a long healthy life, no question about it. read more

I was quoted $72.70 for rabies, distemper, and parvo vaccines, and my bill came out to be $223 per dog. I will not be coming back.

This place really should not have but half a star. Why I have been bringing my beloved pup here is beyond me . I have tried to foster a working relationship w/ Dr. A, but after Friday 9/28 , I now know that was NEVER possible. I have been making the trip from Orange Beach for approx. 4-5 years. But after the treatment we experience this past Friday that's not happening. I have dealt w/ his condescending treatment of me but no more. For years I have asked the groomer to groom my pup just like his picture but for some reason she always grooms him w/ a beard & I always ask no beard. Well he came out of there w/ a 6 in x 3 in wide Skinned & bleeding scraped wound on his chin & neck. Not to mention the bleeding scrapes on his under belly. I asked HOW DID THE GROOMER NOT NOTICE THIS? He replied she did'nt notice anything wrong. I asked " was this done because I asked for no Beard?" He replied "If you feel that way I DO NOT Need Or WANT YOUR Business!" read more

Everytime I have taken my pets to this clinic they take the time to get to know their clients and the pets. They treat my pets as if they were their own. They provide great suggestions on treatments, diets, medicines. Other vets I have tried just seem like they're doing it for the money or a job. I will most certainly be bringing my pets to this clinic regularly. read more

I simply cannot say enough good about this place. Once we took our little puppy here 12 years ago there was no going anywhere else. Super friendly and knowledgeable and caring about the animals, whether a bath or boarding or something much more serious. Even on the horrible day we had to let ours go because he was so sick and hopeless. After he was gone I spent another 24 hours in turmoil about what to do, just letting go or cremation or burial and they listened to every crazy thing I had to say. In the end Beth even wrapped him in one of his blankets for me and handed him back over so I could take him home to put in his back yard. Not sure we will ever have another animal but if we do there will be no other place they go as long as this one is here. One million stars. read more

Wow - where to start? I don't think he deserves even half a star! Their rates are outrageously expensive. Let's put it this way - next time my dog gets sick, I'll drive far, far away from this place. The staff does absolutely nothing to make you feel at home or at ease - the lobby/waiting area is super tiny - and the girl that answered the phones that day was REALLY lacking in common sense and plain old manners. And don't get me started on the doctor.... OK, too late. I'm amazed that this guy has a business (they have 2 doctors - the one I'm referring to is named Chris "Answorth" or "Ailsworth" - I'll call him "Dr. A"). He's a vet who just doesn't seem to like animals! Odd, right? Dr. A also seems to have a problem with people who ask too many questions. He was either pre-occupied, daydreaming or just ignoring me that day, and when he did pay attention to what I had to say, he cut me off and acted like I had no right to question him about anything. Oh, and get this - his cell phone rang while he was looking at my dog and he actually answered it & disappeared for 10 minutes - no "Excuse me" or "I need to take this call", etc. - he just went away. He spent more time on the phone than he did examining my dog! I will NEVER go there again. I really hope that the other doctor that works there is nothing like Dr. A. If you're reading this because you need a Vet in the Foley area, try Dr. Dykes - my Mom has been taking her 17 year old cat to him (for 17 years!), and she says Dr. Dykes is the only vet she'll go to now. read more
