Disappointed. Ive been hereany time but Hohonestly this was the third week I went here to do my hair. First week I went on a Monday and they said they didnt have time. Next week was the weekend they told me to come back in 1 hour. Third week they said again they didnt have time i needed to schedule. There was only one gentleman getting their haircut and one sitting waiting. If you go make sure you have an appointment. They need more people if they are that busy all the time. this was by far the worst haircut i have ever had. i came in for a haircut before i left for college and i left the salon in tears because my hair was far from what i wanted. asked for collarbone length hair with some layers in the front. got the length right... not much else. the layers in the front are bulky and don't blend in well with the rest of the cut. additionally, it looks like a toddler cut out a giant chunk of my hair on the top. my hair is rather dark so the pictures don't show it as much. aside from the terrible haircut, service was not great either. my hairdresser stopped to take a call for 5 minutes, which could have been excused if it didn't compromise her work. she seemed distracted and it felt as though she was just aimlessly chopping off pieces of hair (and looks like it too). her nails scratched up my neck when she touched my hair and her scissors snagged quite a few pieces out of my scalp too. the whole thing felt rushed even though there was nobody else there. it's a cheep price but honestly there are other places in town that will do it better for the same price. i'm bummed that i have to go into my freshman year with a choppy haircut. read more

If a zero star rating was available that is the rating I would give. Took my son for a haircut today, I was very specific as to how we wanted my Son's haircut. However, what we got was my Son's hair ruined by Kim! If that was even her real name, she refused to give me her name, business card, or cosmetology license number. Hmmm... I can't imagine why. One side of my Son's hair was cut almost bald behind his ear, the other side behind his other ear still had hair. They refused to take responsibility, or even stop talking to listen. I would suggest NEVER taking your child there unless you're looking for a disaster, lice, or COVID-19. Lastly, they have signs posted like most reputable businesses stating, they sanitize after each customer however, they did not nor were they taking temperatures. I had them call the police for their safety after one of them tried to place their hand on my shoulder, while the other "stylist" was pointing in my face, with an electric clipper. I wanted to also make certain that before I left, they knew I was not paying for this AWFUL MESS! Police were called as I ASKED THEM TO BE CALLED, upon the arrival of the officer, and him seeing what they had done to my Son's hair, the officer stated "I wouldn't pay anything for that haircut" Smart man, upholding the law, saving this Momma from going Italian crazy on these unskilled, "stylists", and telling it as he saw it. Bottom line this is not a good business, that employs unskilled stylists, that do not have the skill sets to be cutting hair or understand directions, and who do not understand how to speak to hearing-impaired individuals. read more

I went here on a Friday to get a cut and color. Lena gave me a fair pricing of $60, but when I explained the color I wanted it was an extra $30 which is fair because I required bleach to achieve the color I wanted which was ash blonde. I made adequate effort to bond with my stylist, but I could sense that she was more of the quiet type. Anyways, we proceeded as she fit me in just a single drape with a towel around my shoulders and thin plastic. Usually in my experience I wear a gown before the drape is put on and am offered a place to remove my jacket. There was none of this here. (Services tend to vary depending on the salon) My stylist, Joey, and I got to talking during the first application and she told me she had years of experience and very much enjoyed her profession which I felt was great at the time because she was the one coloring my hair. I wasn't too comfortable with the way she took really long pauses to respond bc it felt like I was being ignored... personality is extremely important when dealing with clientele. I have been in the service industry for over 10 years and believe that the person providing a service, its their JOB to make the customer feel comfortable and not the other way around. Moving on, its been awhile since I have had my hair dyed in a salon, I mastered the process myself at home but wanted to treat myself. As she bleached my hair, I noticed she left the roots uncolored. She kept running out of product and had to go back to mix more. Now, I have really thick hair, and while it did occur to me to cut first and color later, I was letting her do her job. I really should have said something. She told me I have thick hair and found myself apologizing. Why, I don't know. Haha don't do that, never apologize as a customer. So after she applied it, Joey told me she didn't want to use heat on my hair during the bleaching process, and I thought cool, but then she changed her mind and sat me under the heater for 15 min. Here's the thing, I asked numerous times, if it was okay to start when I walked in, and offered to come back another day. Even throughout the process and coloring, I kept asking Joey if she was okay with the time and apologized. IM THE CUSTOMER, but hey....I still felt bad. After washing my hair, she brought me over to the chair and immediately applied bleach to my roots wet hair and all, which was fine until I felt the burn. I know bleach can sting, but all she said, "its only 10 cream developer..." and the dye by Matrix is harsher on hair bc of their chemicals. Had I know beforehand, my selection would def have been different. Regardless of her state which honestly shouldn't affect her service, I wanted to make sure that it wasn't overworking her. I even told her that my scalp felt like when you eat spicy food and your tongue feels like its stingy. I love spicy but not when it hurts. The part where I started to become annoyed is when she flipped my hair over and whacked me in the face and on my eye with it, bleach on and all! It was unprofessional and I had to move it out of the way myself... its almost as though she was carefree. She actually did this a few times. I need to speak up and Ive learned my lesson. Ive approached this from the service aspect but as a customer I had every right to say something, what a shame.... I did make a few calls asking my mom to watch my daughter bc it was getting late, which I guess could be a reason why she started to rush like processing under heat, but is it really necessary when I said its okay on time as long as she's okay on time... The color at first was not what I anticipated and not because of unrealistic expectations but bc I emphasized the ash tone, not the blonde. The tips were more brassy so I asked her to trim it down and thin it out which I returned the next Morning to do. Here lies the issue, after removing my clothes and putting them in the wash, my shirt comes out with huge bleach stains in the middle and front! I called just now and explained and her response was, Im sorry, I did my job and used the right amount of coverage and tried to implicate that I could have done it during my trip to the bathroom. She started to argue with me saying am I supposed to protect your shoes to your pants and to your shirt? Um... that would have actually been nice, since you happen to be using chemicals and BLEACH. I also woke up this morning with scabs and burns. Ouch. I would have liked her, but her interpersonal skills after working in the service industry for 11 years should more professional and courteous. Its true that price is quality. I tipped $15 in all fairness she did do her job. I question if she wants to deal with ppl at all. My impression and experience of this place is unsatisfactory. A simple cut and color seems safe but bring your own gown. Lol. And SPEAK UP! read more

BEST Stylist EVER You're sure to love Folsom Pro Cuts. After having hordes of stylists in the past, I found Lena genuinely interested to talk to me about what I wanted and more importantly, how to style my hair. Hint: I would suggest giving Lena "artistic license" to do her magic once she establishes what is important to you. Lena did a great style cut and some hair painting (coloring) on my sideburn areas that perfectly matched my natural hair color. I loved the end result and I ended up booking my next appointment. -3.5 stars -Went here on 5/30 for a mens haircut (its been months) - Pros: -$16 -signed covid consent -seemed like good cleaning practices. -given a facemask -no wait -nice staff Cons- -bit hard to understand the stylist (but everyone was nice) -fade a bit uneven side to side (pointed out a few times.. still uneven when i got home) -neck unevenly lined -facility: could use some updating/dusting Overall, I'd say go. The card on file was only marked 6 or 7 times as I was promised they would mark it after I left. They are denying me a free cut because if they're mistake. Went in during my lunch time for a hair cut because I'm kinda vain like that! Was greeted warmly by a very nice, personal, and professional woman; whom I later discovered was she's also the owner! After the thorough and careful haircut, I looked in the mirror and discovered that I have been transformed into the striking image of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise combined. I'm now transformed into a chick magnet...! Well, that didn't actually happened. But I guess I can dream and just wanted to reiterate that I was very happy with my experiences at Pro Cut. My men's haircut was average but ok. This review is about the cleanliness of the salon tools. I've been to other places that clean their stuff after every use. When the hairdresser was about to cut my hair I asked her if she was going to sanitize the clippers with spray and she looked at me all crazy. She then cleaned it with a purple towel that was nearby...disgusting. When she would transition to other clipper sizes she again did not clean them. At this point she was almost done so I let her finish. When she was done, the hairdresser grabbed the same purple towel and started to use it on my head. I had to tell her no because it wasn't clean. That's so gross. Who knows how many faces/heads she's used it on. I would rather go somewhere else that was more clean. If you want to keep your clients, start cleaning your tools after each use! read more

I'm happy to find a salon so close to my house in a nice area! It's located in a convenient location next to Safeway right off Iron Point off the 50. Everyone here is really nice every time I come in for a service. I usually go to Lena since she does both cut & color really well. I really wanted a stylish A-line cut & go darker as well and my hair came back perfect! It was really fun to talk to her too. I also go to her for eyebrow & upper lip waxing. I had seen this salon while I was at Safeway and it said walk ins welcome. I usually have a regular place I go to that's on Sunrise blvd but it was my day off so I thought I'd stay local since I just needed a root touch up and a trim. They observed the covid protocol and there were just 2 men ahead of me so it wasn't a long wait. Hana got me in, found a matching color, did my roots, gave me a fabulous hair wash and massage, trimmed my hair and gave me a blow dry all for $65 (there was a 20% discount on color). That is half of what I usually pay at my regular Solon. Hana told me that since the pandemic they had lost 70% of their business because of their lack of Intel business from across the street. I do want to support our local businesses at this time so will definitely go back. read more

Good place for an inexpensive haircut. I've been going here for years through all of my drastic hairstyle changes (side bangs, boy short, A-line, full bangs). They take walk-ins, but I usually like to make an appt. The haircut styles are generally amazing, but some of the stylists lack in detail. I recently decided to go for full bangs, and the lengths didn't match up on both sides, and one side was a little longer than the other. They were amazing at maintaining my A-line - I usually went to Oahn (I think that's how you spell it, pronounced "won" like "wonton"). And I appreciate some of the honesty of the stylists when they tell me "No, that will look ugly" despite their tone - they generally have my best interests in mind. Great place to go if you want to feel that "new hair" feeling more often - prices can't be beat for the quality you receive! read more

Came in today for the first time. I asked if they could take any walk ins. I only had to wait a few minutes. To wash cut and dry only took 30-40 minutes but turned out awesome! I wasn't sure of what I wanted. I just knew that I wanted my hair shorter. Lena did an awesome job! I was sceptical because of the few reviews, but I am so happy I gave them a chance! Apparently this business hasn't heard of air-conditioning. The first time I went in i thought maybe it was a fluke so I have went back on other occasions. Every time it has been uncomfortably hot. While the location is convenient, the haircuts are mediocre. The staff can barely speak English and the lack of air-conditioning was the nail in the coffin for this place. This place is absolutely awful!! Second time I have gone that they have treated me like crap and like they could care less about my time. On top of that, they don't even communicate to you that they're going to stop doing your hair and do not one, but TWO other people's hair in between and then maybe come back to you. Instead, they just leave you sitting and waiting. I had to get up and leave in the middle with sopping wet hair because I was so disgusted.
