Tried Fong Asian Dining for the first time this weekend. The service was good and quick. Our waiter was great and very helpful. The food came out very quickly. It definitely is more of a hole in the wall. It isn't very nice inside, it's dirty by the windows, and it definitely is rundown. However, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food. The cream cheese wontons were OK, you could tell that they were not homemade but they still did the job. The Mongolian beef was actually very tasty and I really liked the fried rice as well. I would say that I wish that the portion size of meat in the Mongolian beef and the amount of chicken in the fried rice was more. Everything was very flavorful and tasted fresh. The quality of the beef was actually a lot higher than I thought it would be as well. I really enjoyed all the peppers and the flavors from the seasoning and onions in the Mongolian beef too. It really had a delicious flavor. I definitely would come back and try it out again. There were a lot of people dining here as well as a lot of to go and pick up orders.

I live fairly close to this place, so I finally decided to check it out. Overall, it was an okay experience--nothing particularly great or terrible. The server was friendly, and the food came out quickly, which I appreciated. We started with the cream cheese wontons, which were tasty, but the honey walnut shrimp fell flat for me. I usually love that dish at Chinese restaurants, but this one lacked flavor and sauce, which was a bit disappointing. While I wouldn't go out of my way to return, it might be worth a try if you're in the area and craving something quick.

Best Asian food I've had in a long time. I for the Mongolian Beef lunch with the noodles. Amazing. The beef is tender and seasoned perfectly. Besides that, the Diet Coke had the perfect mix of syrup and carbonation with crushed ice. Yum! And I was so hot but not spicy. I couldn't even eat it which I love when food getting hot. We will be back! Thanks, Fong!

The food was authentic, it's a little spicy and savory. Each main dish comes with a bowl of rice, it's enough. The waiters always come and fill up the water for us. The environment is clean. Not a lot of parking outside but you will find one. Restroom is clean.

This is authentic Chinese food, not American-style Asian cuisine. I love the bold and spicy flavors. The dishes were so delicious that my son ate three bowls of rice! Highly recommended for those who appreciate real Chinese flavors. Definitely will come again.

    crispy sweet sour pork

I drove over half an hour just to try this highly recommended Guo Bao Rou, and it was a complete disappointment. The dish was soft and soggy with no crispiness at all -- nothing like the authentic sweet and sour crunch it's supposed to have. It tasted more like poorly made sweet and sour pork than real Guo Bao Rou. Honestly, this is the worst version I've ever had, and I couldn't even finish it. Definitely not worth the trip, and I won't be coming back.

Food tastes good, reasonable price. We like the twice cooked pork and crispy sweet and sour pork slices.

I love Fong's and have for several years. The bento box is the best thing on the menu with tons of options! If you go at lunch it's also discounted. Their cream cheese wontons are amazing and I'm a big fan of the general chicken. Don't expect much from the service but it will be delicious. The ambiance includes an assortment of random decorations but an upgrade from their 50's diner look at their old location

It comes up as gluten free but are there good cross contamination free items?

I have ordered gluten free many times. I have never gotten sick. It is delicious!

Johanna is a great server, I promised her I would leave a review a year or so ago. I forgot and hadn't until now. It's a very pretty restaurant. If there was one complaint it's that the door gets opened, or left open and the cold blows in. Which is more of an Utah people thing, than it being the restaurants fault. I had odd service one time, this was four years ago or so. I haven't seen that server since then. So I guess it's sort of a moot point. For the sake of explaining it. I asked the guy first a to go box. He removed the food that wasn't finished and left the boxes. So I had nothing to pack. Once again, haven't seen him since. Whenever I'm in Lehi this is usually the restaurants fault I go to. I liked the ramen place across the street, but they stopped serving alcohol.

The restaurant is very clean and modern. We got the mixed tempura appetizer. We were very impressed with the portions. However, the vegetable pieces were huge. The carrots were nearly whole, not sliced. It was kind of hard to eat. We got a Vegas roll which was OK. I get the Vegas at most sushi places so I can have a baseline comparison. I also got the Marz roll, and it was SO good! My husband loved it too. We had some issues at checkout where she brought up another table's bill that was twice as much as ours. I checked the details, and she fixed it. Then technical issues prevented our payment using the device. So we had some delays. All in all, a decent experience. If we were in the area again and needed sushi, I think we'd come back. But as we're rarely in American Fork, we likely won't return anytime soon.

Great ambience, friendly staff, a menu broad enough to satisfy any mood, and food that delivers on what it promises. This one has earned a regular spot in my rotation. If you arrive before 3:00 pm, do yourself a favor and order from the combo lunch menu. For a good price, you get miso soup, white rice, pork gyoza, and tempura vegetables, and then choose two items from a list that includes chicken, rolls, and sashimi. The gyoza and tempura alone are worth calling out, both done well. I went with the spicy tuna roll and steak teriyaki and did not regret either choice. Now for the rolls. The Tsunami Roll is the signature and it earns that title, order it without hesitation. The Spicy Masa and Fire Breathing Dragon round out my personal top three and I have yet to be disappointed by any of them. The two areas where they could level up: the wait for food is longer than the lunch setting calls for, so come with patience and plan accordingly. And for a restaurant with rolls this photogenic, a printed menu with photos would go a long way.

I suppose it was just a little awkward to walk into an empty restaurant at 11:45 a.m. on a Thursday (there were of course a few employees there). Overall vibe was alright, but nothing exciting. The poke nachos were delicious, but the portion could have been a little larger. Also wish there was a tuna option for the nachos. Menu felt quite small. Fresh tuna nigiri and unagi nigiri were both great. We did have a mix-up where we checked off the items we wanted on the menu and gave it to our server, and actually did not receive what we ordered. We honestly didn't notice immediately until we got the bill, but our confusion of getting Unagi instead of Madai made a lot more sense once we figured it out. I was super sad that we didn't end up getting the Madai, mostly because we were running out of time and had to go somewhere, otherwise I would have told the server about the issue. Under wraps is overall worth the visit, with the food being dialed in with presentation and well thought out flavors. The overall experience and value was lacking though.

It was my first time there, and the staff was super helpful walking me through the menu, which I appreciated. The vibe inside is cool and laid back, and the food leans more traditional style, which I liked. I ordered the salmon hand roll, salmon nigiri, poke nachos, and hamachi sashimi. Everything was fresh and well put together. I live in Midvale, so it would be a bit of a drive for me, but honestly it's good enough that I'd make the trip to Utah county to eat here again.
