honestly, what type of place are they running at Fontana high school. My son has a 504 plan and the teachers are treating him as if he's a joke like he's irrelevant. He's a new student here not one teacher has taken the time to try and see if he understands the lesson instead they're having the students teach my son. Isn't that what our tax paying dollars pay for those teachers salaries? Not to sit on their fat asses, but to teach our children. I've had meetings with the principal, the assistant principal and three of his teachers because the other three didn't think it was important enough to show up for the 504 plan meeting just for the teachers to turn around after the meeting and treat my son like he's a truant problem . I met with the assistant principal today, and I caught her several times, rolling her eyes when she didn't think I was looking, one of his teachers cussed at him for not being explained how to access his assignment in which he was supposed to be exempt from because of him being a new student, did that teacher apologize . Did the encourage the teacher to apologize absolutely turned around and to paint a picture of my son being a bad student. He's required to have a certain amount of points in order to receive a passing grade yet the assignments that he is required to turn in added on to the assignment he has already turned in do not even equal half of the points that he would need to pass. Is it really that much of a problem to do your damn job and care about the students? When you wanted to become a teacher, didn't you care about students and helping kids? Or was it all a façade to pretend to be a good person. I can't stand their demeanor and the way they treat me, I can only imagine how they treat my son when I'm not there and how they treat other students and how long has this been going on that they treat these kids this way as if they don't mean anything other than an attendance score for the state funding. It's a sad excuse of a high school at this point. Because they really are only caring about the students who've been established who don't struggle and don't suffer. It's beyond me and I'm taking this to the board of education because this is so sad. Fontana high school structure absolutely need someone to step in to provide a foundation for these staff members to take teaching serious because these children are the future. read more

I went to enroll my son and the person attending me was for sure on something made me feel uncomfortable. I later found out that my son wasn't even enrolled so I sat their for 2 hrs for nothing and even went to work late. You need new staff I'm currently on the phone trying to make an appointment to enroll my son no response lunch is not until 1 im calling at 12 and it only takes a few seconds to take my info down. as far as the district I haven had too many issues, but at least "Mango Elementary" my son was bullied, jumped and mistreated by staff and students. it was the worst choice to ever give that school a chance. I reported this to his teachers at the time and the principal. the principal told me she wasnt going to do anything about my son being bullied at school by staff and students because he was "kicking a ball away at the playground from other students". I thought that was all part of being a kid is playing and kicking around balls. school police didn't do anything either it was all caught on the school police officer by the name of Scott. my son is forever damaged and to make it even worse it was the first time he was ever around any kids. it's the worst experience any kid should ever experience going to school. I dislike this for him. The fact that the teachers staff and students all didn't treat him well is sad. he now says he "doesnt care if people hurt him". as a mother this changed my heart forever. I hope YOUR CHILDREN DONT EVER GO TO THAT SCHOOL AND DONT GAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS FIRST TIME YOU GO TO SCHOOL. my son is very hurt from all this and Michelle Avila never did anything to protect him at her school. I called and met with her several times. she's the principal there. she is not a protector. she doesn't care about OUR CHILDREN. we need people who care about children not whom let them be bullied under their own roofs. I stand by my previous review because the enrollment process was ridiculous, but I want to share with parents that Shadow Hills Elementary in South Fontana was a very good school that offered many resources to my child. Mrs. Pulido, preschool teacher, is AWESOME, and has small children herself, very much understands how to communicate with little ones. She and Miss Connie were great. The schedule is too strenuous for any working parent to realistically handle, you must be present for the first 15 minutes of class every day, they do not tell you this until it's too late. (I doubt this is specific to his class, probably district wide.) Class starts @ 7:30 or 10:30, so single working parents need not apply. You have the option not to do it, but if not your child will be lonely watching other kids with stay at home parents or parents with flexible work schedules day after day while they struggle alone. Ouch. Class ends about 3 hours later, so figuring out pick up with your sitter then have your kid staying at another location until you till you get off isn't ideal. So preschool is pretty pointless unless you have a lot of help or stay home with your kiddos. Teachers and school were great though. read more

This place is a bureaucratic nightmare. Be prepared to have all your documentation turned away for the slightest error. These people do not seem to have children's education in mind. I am currently upset so I may be a bit biased but that's not my goal. Everyone thinking of enrolling their children here's a checklist to stick it to'em. []Parent ID/Drivers license/Bank ID w photo/passports []Address verification; ie pay stub, utility bill ect. and make sure who ever is enrolling the child that your name appears personally on the verification or no dice. []Students birth certificate []Immunization record current []Physical examination record for K-1rst (Other items you may need or they might turn you away.) []Medical insurance card []Special education documents []Foster or legal documents []Approved district transfer []Withdrawal slip from old school With all of this you will most likely still have to wait until they process everyone in front of you. I reached out to the school district to have my son entered into their preschool. The school psychologist Angela made the process extremely uncomfortable. She has no bedside manner, she is rude, stuck up and does not listen to parents. She continued to brag about her degree and try to diagnose my son which is completely unacceptable. This is a terrible school district, and they need to do an overhaul of their employees. I have yet to meet an employee that truly seems like they enjoy the students or their job. read more

This place is just a mess, i made an online appointment to enroll a preschooler then to find out that the person who was supposed to do my paper work doesn't work that day and i was made to wait an hour and a half for window #10, acouple weeks pass and i get a phone call from f.u.s.d saying i need to come back because my paper work wasn't filed right and if i don't go they aren't going to accept her in preschool, i was also asked what teacher i wanted for my preschooler and i asked what teacher they have and she told me that they only had one but in reality there is more then one preschooler teacher, (IF YOUR COMEING HER PLEASE COME INFORMED AND COME WITH PATIENTS)!! read more

First time experiencing "the enrollment center". They have 5 clerks working and 40 people waiting. I don't understand why you have an enrollment center if its short staffed. I have never experienced a process like this to get your kid in school. Called on Monday to make an appointment and received a call back today as I am waiting all day with a non appointment. Hopefully this is not a reflection of how the schools are in Fontana. So ridiculous! They have 3 other windows open and their just sitting. Why not train them to help. read more

Unbelievably poor risk management team. I tried getting help from the director of the risk department, Larry Wilkie, when my patio door was shattered from a baseball from Beech Elementary School Yard. He called me 3 times in 3 weeks and all he could tell me was that the school and after school program "didn't allow baseballs" UNBelievable! I don't allow the school kids to play in my yard, but I guarantee if one of them snuck in during or after hours and was injured I would be responsible! How INCREDIBLY unprofessional and even more so unneighborly! I promise if I ever, or anyone on my property ever shattered someone else's window or door, I would kindly pay for the repairs! I am 100% filing a claim against the school district and spreading the word so hopefully these poor management members are replaced with people with integrity. Big giant thumbs down! 7 years living here I have never had a problem. And the school district representatives make me want to Move over s shattered window that cost a whopping $248 to repair. My daughter is a new student to the Fontana District. There was a situation that Came up about my daughters health and I was simply seeking information/ answers on what I needed to do for accommodations. Sadly, Mango elementary was unable to assist me and directed me to Leslie D. Woodman-Moore, who is the health Correspondent for Fontana District. It took about a week and a half to get a hold of her after multiple calls to her nice assistant Dora. I was disappointed with Leslie's unprofessionalism with lack of communication to provide information so that I can meet Fontana requirements to solve the situation. Considering Leslies position and title, I am shocked on how she displayed no passion or empathy to simply take the time to help me. Coming from San Bernardino district, I honestly can say San Bernardino has an amazing staff at the district and my daughters prior schools. I'm regretting leaving. read more
