I guess the guy serving the food saw that I was standing for the national anthem and refused to move even though we kept calling my number and gave me two free drinks, which was very cool. I order carne asada tacos and a quesadilla, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The meat was extremely pale and looked nothing like grilled carne asada. I'm sad to read the reviews about Fonzi's. I've been coming here for a while and I've never had a bad experience with the food or service. The shrimp tacos are my go-to. they're super tasty. Definitely not stingy with the shrimp by adding a good amount shrimps on the tacos. The sauce they add is good and the fried cheese compliments the taco well. Last week I had the Fonzi Fries. Bomb The cheese on the fries were hella good. I added pastor as my choice of meat, and I would say the pastor was a little too sweet for my taste but it balanced well with the other ingredients. My only complaint is I wished they added a little more sour cream but overall a good meal to share with someone. read more

Tried this place at GrubHub for dinner tonight and was disappointed. I got 4 tacos, (asada, carnitas, chorizo, and lengua) along with a super nachos order with asada. The taco meat was dry for all of the tacos and the tortillas tasted old and were also really dry. The salsas needed more flavor and the jalapeños and cucumbers that came with my tacos seemed to be old as well. The nachos needed more cheese because they were dry after the top layer. My friend ordered the horchata from there as well and it tasted like it was from a store carton. Not home made. The service was fine. The girl who took my order was nice. Overall would not go back. Used to be my favorite, but something changed over the last year and it's just not the same. I order delivery often so I can't speak to the customer service, but I have noticed a lower quality meat and that they started to add so much chili to the birria that it's a completely different dish now. The food went from fantastic to barely edible. It's a huge loss! This type of change sometimes happens if the owner stops being as involved as they were in the beginning - not sure if that's the case or if it's just lower quality because of higher prices in the market but the restaurant is not holding up to the standards that were originally set. read more

I honestly cannot get enough of their Keto Tacos that they make, everything is amazing the way they cook their meat, the cheese shells, the salsa they add is really mouth-watering. I love how they have the keto option, that's what originally caught my attention. Located at the Grub Hub in Modesto, I do suggest following them on Instagram since one Saturday I went really craving some tacos and their truck wasn't there, due to them catering a wedding event. My bf and I have tried their carne asada and chicken tacos as well and they are just as good, I really think the salsa makes the tacos, not too hot not too mild, just right. Our favorite is the carne asada tacos. Also, the wait is never too long even on a Friday around 5:00pm when I usually stop by before heading home. Before I sat down my daughter asked if she can have half, I said "sure let me ask them to cut it in half." I turned around and asked them if they can cut the burrito in half. I have wanted to try this taco truck on Mc Henry @ the gas station. I ordered a chicken, carnitas, and 2 al pastor taco's. It may be a personal preference, but I like my taco meat cooked/charred on the grill. The carnitas and al pastor were like stew meat. I am not sure if it was to be pico de gallo but more watery chopped tomatoes. Which meant a soggy taco. The chicken one was soo dry, I gave the meat to my cat. When I ordered at the window, they barely said a word, and the window just closed. I noticed many food items listed on the truck that looked interesting weren't available and crossed out. I was going to go back up to the window and ask, but they or whomever didn't seem friendly. When my food came, window opened, food pushed out, window closed. Went there on Saturday when some friends wanted to try out the Grub Hub. I got the asada fries (I think they're the Fonzi Fries on the menu) and man oh man, they were delicious. I've been having a hard time finding great asada fries in Modesto so this was a blessing. The flavor of everything was excellent, and man they give you a lot of it. Fries were fresh too, I saw them dump them straight out of the fry basket into the container. Prices were good too, especially considering the quality and quantity. Employees were nice and helpful as well. I didn't have a lot of questions, but what ones I did have they answered well and helped a lot. Service was pretty quick too. This place is great, honestly worth the drive downtown. Wish they had one closer to center Modesto. read more
