    Patty Melt!
    James S.

My first visit to Food Coma food truck tonight. Couldn't decide what to eat from the many appealing choices on the menu. Noticed the patty melt on the menu. Been searching for a good patty Melt since our favorite place recently shut down. Fantastic choice! Two delicious hamburger patties, melted cheese, sweet grilled onions on toasted Texas toast. Enjoyed every single bite. Wasn't all that concerned about the fries given the size of the burger, but was pleasantly surprised at the crispy Krinkle fries side, really good. So many other good things still to try on this menu so we will definitely be back. Really enjoyed talking to the guys on the grill, they take their food seriously! Keep it up guys! Highly recommend this place.

This food is hands down the best food I've had in this city. We got the Barrera tacos and the Nashville chicken tendies and they were phenomenal! They're touched behind the Toob Rental space. Do yourself a favor and grab a meal here before you tube or after YouTube or while you're hanging out in the city!

Comfort food truck with crispy but juicy chicken sandwiches, homemade creamy Mac and cheese, burgers, tacos and assorted comfort foods with a Southern and healthcare themed twist. They always seem to have a special. Worth the stop. Located in the parking lot of the New Braunfels ER & Hospital.

When we got to the loop, the navigator showed it was still a little way to go. As we usually hop onto the loop must be the reason, we had never seen this place. The restaurant is in the back of a little shopping center. Since this was midday, the shopping center was packed. We actually had a hard time finding a parking space. We walked in and were greeted immediately. The space is much larger than it appears from outside. We were taken to our seats, and quickly had a waiter deliver water and menus. When Nicholas found out this was our first trip, he was excited to share his knowledge of his favorite things and make suggestions. While we were deciding, he brought us our chips and queso. We decided what we wanted, placed our orders, and started in on the chips, queso, and salsa. Both the queso and salsa were warm, and the chips were light and tasty. After our food was delivered, we talked with Nick some, and he suggested we come back in the evening as they had live entertainment. We enjoyed our food immensely and decided we would bring our daughter here this weekend as they are coming into town and love TexMex. Nick did a great job of keeping our glasses filled, the conversation going, and answering our questions. I can't say anything about the other waiters, buy if you get him, you will not be disappointed. Will I return? Definitely as we will be here this upcoming weekend:)

The waitress said she didn't prefer it over other dishes but I tried it anyway based on previous reviewers. I enjoyed it, pretty tasty though I think the chicken was a bit dry. The star was the street taco. Extremely tasty. I could have ordered three and been happy. The stuffed tostada was new for me but I could definitely get used to it. We both had a frozen margarita to go along with our meal and it was just right (could use a little more tequila). I wanted to try the Queso Flameado but we had already ordered the lunch queso and that would have been wasted and just plain greedy. It's a nice restaurant with nice decor but the take for two is just too small. Hardly has room for out food. If you're in the area give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

My poor dog actually slipped on some algae and went right into the river that day, so it was especially nice to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the unbeatable weather afterward. We went on a Saturday and the place was absolutely popping. The patio was full of families enjoying the sunshine, and the whole place had a really energetic, welcoming vibe. I brought my dog along with her travel bed, and it was nice to be able to settle in outside with her. The folks at the next table were also very sweet and asked about my dog, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Our server was very kind and attentive throughout the visit. She made sure we were doing well and checked in at just the right times. One thing I really appreciated was that she brought chips for both sides of our table. The chips were super crispy and tasted really fresh -- a great way to start the meal. I'm not usually the biggest Tex-Mex fan, but I have to say I really enjoyed my giant plate of two beef burritos. The portions were massive and the flavors were great. I ended up with so many leftovers that I ate them again for lunch on Monday and Tuesday, and they were still incredibly tasty days later. The only slightly stressful moment was that some kids were running around the patio a bit unsupervised. It made me a little nervous with my dog there because I was worried someone might accidentally step on her. She's not easily spooked, but I felt better once we moved her to the unoccupied side of the table. That said, this wasn't the restaurant's fault -- just something to be mindful of since servers are also navigating the patio with big trays of hot food. Overall, we had a great time. Friendly service, great food, and a lively patio atmosphere made for a really enjoyable visit. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in New Braunfels.

Richi took care of our drinks immediately and took our orders as soon as the complimentary chips and salsa were delivered. Salsa was tasty with a bit of zest but not overly spicy, even for my husband. We got a small guacamole and it was perfect for 2 chip loving peeps. I got the chicken fajita taco salad - plenty of white meat chicken and all the expected goodies, even a side of great tasting borracha beans. Hubby got the Beef fajita fiesta bowl - so big and tasty he could only eat half! Plenty of parking. We'll be back!! Can't believe we have driven past Herbert's many times and just did not know what we were missing!
